The game is on two disk because we'll play two different timelines that will eventuallt converge in the 3rd game. Zack has tons of stuff to deal with before Sephiroth.

Third, and everyone seems to forget about this, the Turks. They were searching for him, and he has to talk to that girl with no name.
Fourth, Genesis and some time to mourne over Angeal's death.
Fifth, Nero? I guess?
Not to mentions other stuff like his home in Gongaga, the shinra searching him, etc etc.
The comparison between the EVA Rebuilds and FF7R annoy me. The Rebuilds were actually about Anno's evolving relationship with EVA. Nomura just wanted to do moronic FF7 fanfic, like bringing back Zack, that doesn't say anything about the original

I did see the interview with a weird way of wording this. I will say that if they decide to not include vincent or cid who are acquired in disc 1 in the OG as playable then they fricked up. You don't put these guys as only playable in the finale and thus only get to use them for 1/3 of your game and also the climax where you want to use your favorite party set up to finish the story. This just sounds so bad. I hope they just mean other characters outside these two like guest characters that never helped out before. (Turks, Roche)

There plenty of cities outside of the metro. Probably more than FF8. And certainly more you can visit than in XVI lmao. There are mining cities, port towns, resort cities, towns that act as rest stops between locations. Towns that cling to old traditions and religions. It's just abstraction, anon. There are obviously more people, more cities and the locations are also obviously bigger, but they were reduced to just what is relevant for the game. Midgar is NOT just a small fortress in size. Gongoga village is NOT just a village with 5 or so huts in total. There are countless towns and villages all over the world, but they are not shown because the main cast simply never visits those, so they were abstracted away.

Sephiroth was just aping a lot of what came before. Even his design is blatantly drawing on Psaro from Dragon Quest 4, and the relationship he and Cloud hold draws on some elements of Berserk (as is known).

It's Crisis Core that made him look like a friendly beer guy just happening to be sentimentally broken because he found out that he isn't a human (he has green cat-like eyes and never noticed them/never questioned that btw).

On that note, there’s a change from OG to Remake in the timing on when Cloud arrived at Midgar. In OG Cloud arrived a couple months before the first reactor mission. In Remake in Japanese, Marle states he arrived a few days prior.
This coincides with the timing of Zack in the new timeline arriving “late”. At the point in time the party is leaving in the main timeline, Zack is carrying Cloud then too.

I did see the interview with a weird way of wording this. I will say that if they decide to not include vincent or cid who are acquired in disc 1 in the OG as playable then they fricked up. There plenty of cities outside of the metro. Probably more than FF8. And certainly more you can visit than in XVI lmao. Midgar is the biggest because it is the wealthiest has the most opportunities even for the lower class.

There are mining cities, port towns, resort cities, towns that act as rest stops between locations. Towns that cling to old traditions and religions. The devs didn't even leave much to the imagination with this one. And you don't even need to be spammed with fetch quests to get how things work.

Midgar is NOT just a small fortress in size. Gongoga village is NOT just a village with 5 or so huts in total. There are countless towns and villages all over the world, but they are not shown because the main cast simply never visits those, so they were abstracted away.
Yes, this still happens in the better games today as well.
Kiseki is a good example (city with 650k pop is abstracted down to a slice of zones with consistent people.)

Sephiroth was just aping a lot of what came before. Even his design is blatantly drawing on Psaro from Dragon Quest 4, and the relationship he and Cloud hold draws on some elements of Berserk (as is known).
It's not the FF7 fand that wank sephiroth so hard, because in the original game sephiroth is just like every other FF villain. It's Crisis Core that made him look like a friendly beer guy just happening to be sentimentally broken because he found out that he isn't a human (he has green cat-like eyes and never noticed them/never questioned that btw).

On that note, there’s a change from OG to Remake in the timing on when Cloud arrived at Midgar. In OG Cloud arrived a couple months before the first reactor mission. In Remake in Japanese, Marle states he arrived a few days prior.
This coincides with the timing of Zack in the new timeline arriving “late”. At the point in time the party is leaving in the main timeline, Zack is carrying Cloud then too.

The CC cloud is a version of cloud that has never seen Zack dying, that means he never received a Trauma so deep to make him forget about Zack's death or to stop Jenova's cells from making him act like a moron (or, more precisely, like Marco).
So the CC Cloud will become a walking mongoloid, spurting "muh reunion" and wearing a black cape like every other soldier suffering from Jenova's degraded cells.
Meanwhile, the Mainline cloud, is a normal cloud that has seen Zack dying, so he forgot everything and you know the story.
You can see Zack with Materia equipped on his sword in the latest trailer. He'll 100% be playable in his story segments. Will he go solo like he did in Crisis Core, or do you think he'll get party members? Cissnei and/or other Turks like Tseng?

Fishing is god-tier in XV. I understand you all are having a strange fight, but XV's fishing is the best fishing mini-game in all JRPGs. And there are a lot of fishing mini-games to compare with tbh.
I actually enjoy XV fishing despite mostly hating the rest of the game, but to be fair, fishing minigames aren't really everyone's thing.

It's just a shame there wasn't much else at launch. Chocobo racing was fun, The monster arena wasn't all that interesting and the pinball game was just a game you could play on Android/iOS separately. Disappointing.
