Most FPS devs now have enough money to just license the guns. I think gun licenses are not that expensive either, even indieshit like Receiver 2 has real gun names.
The thing about guns is that there's no logical reason to have to get copyrights for them, and even today the majority of games that aren't specifically military-guy-in-desert shooters just give 'em a different name, since that happens in real life anyway. How many different companies make AR uppers and lowers now? About fifty bajillion. You want an AK? Okay, do you want Russian, Chinese, Belgian, Romanian, Polish, Yugoslavian, Yuktobanian, or a parts-kit mishmash of everything above? Even for actually unique or semi unique weapons, anyone who knows enough to know what they're looking at will recognize it anyway if it's accurate enough (which it often is), it doesn't matter if it says Glock or Block.
You can make a two seater fighter with twin stabilizers and swing wings. You just can't call it an F-14 Tomcat. Project Wingman gets around this by calling it an F/D-14 and basically combining several Tomcat variants into one aircraft.
war thunder is gaijin's cash cow so they can spend hundreds of thousands on licenses with no fear, ace combat isn't near as profitable of an IP as other namco IP's so they naturally don't want to put more funding towards a small niche game

I saw 4 and 5 very cheap recently but didn't get them exactly because of the stupid spanish subtitle. The one in 4 was something like TRUENO DE ACERO (steel thunder) and I just fricking refuse what the hell is that.

All the games play similar but have different presentation and mission design, so you should pick the one which looks coolest to you. For example, AC2 is a pure arcade game, AC3 is a cyberpunk corporate war, AC5 is a Cold War game and AC0 is a WW2 game.

I dunno I never felt like the squadron commands ever did anything, I just turn on use special weapon and sometimes an enemy would already be damaged but being able to chose the squad's planes in 5 is kino when you get to see them in cutscenes.

I emulated it on PCSX2 in 4k and it looked okay.

The gameplay is a downgrade for 6 and Infinity. It's also a downgrade from 5 and Zero because 5, 6 and Zero have squadron commands.
