You already know a remake would maybe make the gameplay tolerable, not good or anything, just more bearable
But if you think that a story like Drakengard can exist in the current market you are delusional. They would gut the absolute hell out of it >incest >pedophilia >cannibalism >bestiality
Most of that was already gutted or severely censored in the original western release. If you didn't play the original japanese release you didn't really experience the game.
Mostly just Manah's taunts about Furiae's true desires being reduced to a vague "I want my brother to embrace me", and Leonard's preference only really being apparent with the awkward shudder he makes when Seere hugs him before his sacrifice.
Ground gameplay is ass, it was never meant to be in the game
Air combat is pretty nice
A remake would remove every ounce of uniqueness this game has and completely sterilize the one good thing DOD has
The only part I really struggled with was the long string of inputs at the very end. Eventually, I beat it just by constantly pausing, unpausing, entering a few inputs, and then repeating.
yeah it is fricking awful
I ended up completing it only because story got more strange and crazy with each chapter
at some point you get a sword that gives you speed buff so it gets a little better
Technically, it's Manah who taunts Caim about Furiae's incestuous desires. Caim's horrified response is what causes Furiae to kill herself, breaking the seal permanently.
This is coming from someone who replayed it countless of times. It's one of those games that the more you play them, the more the gameplay becomes easier. Especially when we're talking about maneuvering Angelus. I now basically do it with closed eyes. Most people say the primitive musou style is a turn off but I think it has its charm as an early game by Yoko. It's simple compared to real musou games but it's not as bad as people make it sound, pretty serviceable. On a personal note - I started enjoying the gameplay after replaying it so many times. Drakengard 1's selling point is the incredible and batshit story and the powerful, absorbing and haunting atmosphere that rarely any other game can replicate. Both of these elements make going through the not-so-perfect gameplay a well worth experience and those for the most part what make me go back to replay the game. You also get to experience Yoko Taro's DrakeNieR universe at "almost" its fullest (you still need to read the novels and manga, listen to the CD dramas, play/watch the FFXIV's Automata's event, watch the stageplays or read their scripts and play NieR Reincarnation for the full experience which are well-worth it).
>Drakengard 1's selling point is the incredible and batshit story and the powerful, absorbing and haunting atmosphere that rarely any other game can replicate.
Based and truepilled
Drakengard 2 was made without Yoko Taro's involvement, and though it largely follows the events of Branch A, it's not usually associated with the overarching Drakengard/Nier timeline. Though the gameplay flows better than the original, the writing doesn't really work in the same way it did for the original - Nowe is portrayed as a pretty standard knight-in-shining-armour protagonist, despite building a bodycount close to Caim's from the first game (which was treated by his own allies as shocking and excessive).
You didn't play it, then. No one would say this if they played it, especially after the last update where a number of DrakeNieR characters returned. The ending of the last episode is a direct continuation to Automata.
You just got filtered by the lads.
> J-Fat Doomer Taro
Don't play sloppo taro "games"
>gameplay is ASS
But the story is very unique and compelling.
It really needs a remake badly.
It isn't
It doesn't

>incest

Didn't Nier canonically prostitute himself as a child to afford medicine for Yonah? That got a remake.
I believe it's only mentioned outside of the game like in some novel or other shit but yes, he was selling his ass to old men
>novel
coward way. Just show it lmao
guy just makes novels, drama cds, stage plays and other crap to make more money
The frick, is this real
no it's AI generated
That wasn't in the game, it was explained in a novel

Ok, go translate it then.
Git gud.
only the camera is bad

>to unlock this weapon, spend 30 minutes in this level
>fast forward the emulator
We have the technology
If you used save states, you did not beat the game
im surprised people really had trouble with this section, do rhythmlets really?

Did his sister actually say she wants to frick him in the japanese version?

OP here, got my first companion. Im starting to understand the game better. Also call me a homosexual but speed up in emulator helps to grind.
been trying to get into drakenier universe, only played nier automata and nier ps3 many years ago
I should skip drakengard 2 right?

>and play NieR Reincarnation
That mobile shit isn't canon
Isn't it? I thought Yoko Taro was a weirdo who considers pretty much everything canon, including the FFXIV event.
Reincarnation is canon.

is it too late to start? must have missed some good christmas event
The game is twenty years old, brother. Where you been?
>draw distance of like 3 fricking feet in a game where you are on a dragon fighting entire armies at once
lmao, Yoko Taro is a fricking hack who gets applauded purely because his presentation is very good
People who liked Taro before Automata didn't like his games for their gameplay. Taro was also stuck with Cavia who were simply a subpar company.
