Lemme hold out hope for the Oracle games since TOTK pretty much confirms the Oracles are canon but did the same dumb ass thing as Zelda. though that does raise the question as to what were their stone abilities.
I have to admit, that new font looks really nice. Unfortunately, this hack includes two seperate font hacks, one of which overwrites the other, and there is no indication of which one is shown in the screenshot. Why are rom hackers like this? All that effort making the thing and then you frick up the romhacking.net listing?
2/3s in I fully realized I played this game a dozen times before and just couldn't bring myself to finish it.
It's probably more for a new audience. If you grew up with it as a kid its nice to look at but it's the same game, almost to a fault.
Link's Awakening was always a good game, so the remake gets some free, easy points for simply being based on one of the best Zelda handheld titles. That said, the "remake" itself adds very little and the artstyle is divisive. You're probably better off playing the original if you have an easy way of playing it.
Link’s Awakening is a bit overrated, as most of the dungeons are just a series of rooms instead of having a central mechanic that pervades things. Still, it’s a 2D Zelda, so it’s very good. And I like the remake’s style
Pixel art just looks so much better, they could have introduced new sprites instead of going with this disgusting mess of an art style. Why is Zelda condemned to have shit art styles? What was wrong with the N64 style of games? Now we either have toon Link, or the hideous BOTW hybrid cartoon-realism garbage, or whatever this ugly diorama style mess is.
The good: you can have more items out now so you're not switching regularly
the bad: animations area massively slowed down. Instead of what is a 3 hour game, it's about 6-8 hours now despite having the same amount of content
Don't really like Funko pops but I thought the style of the game was good. I liked the original/dx, so it was good to replay it again with better graphics. Story is wack.
It's a good way to play the game. I genuinely don't understand why Ganker has such a massive hateboner for the art style since the original game was pretty chibi-ish in terms of aesthetics. They kept in all the goofy easter eggs too, including both Totaka's song appearances. They even recreated how the Richard's villa version of it ends with a wrong note.
From what I can remember, perfomance and resolution was better in handheld?
It's a really charming little game. The characters are a little more "wooden" than I would have liked. I'm not fond of Nintendo treating everything like a toy version of itself instead of the original presentation. Gives it a "nintendoland" feel.
Last bingtendo game worth playing.
Worth playing over the original for the QoL alone, even if the presentation is inferior, it's still very fun and a great remake.
It's unfortunate the Oracle games couldn't get the same treatment
Why Oracles can't get a remake?
There's no reason they "can't"... Nintendo just "won't" because they were made by Capcom so they refuse to acknowledge them.
The oracle games were added to nso, nintendo isn't hiding their existence.

Definitive version of a timeless classic. I play this at least once a year.
>Definitive version

Is there a patch that makes the movement abilities active to their own button prompt instead of having to switch your sword and shield out constantly?
Yeah, really enjoyed it.

It's fine, it's Link's Awakening, should have been $40 instead of $60.
It's free on steamdeck
>2 hour battery life
No thanks. inb4 troon rage
it's also free on switch too with this
seethe
What is that?
It's a jig that bridges two specific connector pins in the right Joy-Con rail.
If that connection is bridged whilst the power is turned off, holding Vol+ whilst pressing the power button boots the system into recovery mode.
Switch units produced up to a certain point in time have an unpatchable vulnerability that uses this to deploy payloads over the USB-C port.
Basically you use it to set up custom firmware and then get free games.
Then again, Switch emulation has also gotten very good recently.
Used copies are 30, which I found to be a fair price.
60 was too much, even for a classic
I get why they did the blurry edges but it was super distracting once I noticed them

I hated the changes to the sword. Frick the parry shit with the shields as well.
Looks awful. I played DX last year for the first time and I don't get why someone would choose playing pic related instead
Only modern Nintendo hardware could struggle to run a remake of a Game Boy game that originally released in 1993. Absolutely embarrassing

And I like you, anon 🙂
bawd!
Too expensive for what it is and what brings as a remake. Still a great game, tho

It’s so funny seeing boomers seethe over Zelda being cartoony

Fun and comfy.
