Weapon banner is a single 50/50 like character banner, Weapons only go up to 2 dupes, characters go up to 5 cons instead of 6 and are functional at C0, pity is 10 lower for characters and 20 lower for weapons, and the girls are cuter and have actual personalities instead of being 1dimensional gimmick cardboard cutouts.

When I played, anything besides a sniper rifle or shotgun character was utter dogshit at anything above a moderate level. Pistol/SMG/AR all lacked penetration so any miniboss or elite enemy would take several mag dumps into their weak point to drop even if you over levelled them. And I disliked playing with shotguns and snipers so I quit
only at very low level
Snipers and Shotguns are 90% gun 10% abilities, Pistol is 90% Abilities and 10% gun, with ARs and SMGs being in the middle
every character is pretty strong once built, even 5* Fritia is good now
ricochet also doesn't happen if you crit, and headshots are always crits, so it's not a big issue
Only the usual gacha tips. Don't spend pulls on standard, etc.
Current banner character is an omni-element support that charges your ult energy, and she's also fun to field even though she doesn't do a ton of damage.
She has different effects on her E depending on the card, hitting a headshot changes the card.

Genshin's story stopped moving forward after the 1.2 update, the story is locked in sitcom limbo where you go to a region, a completely self-contained story happens, and then you move forward to the next region with absolutely zero permanent repercussions.
For all intents and purposes, you can do Mond+Liyue and then go straight to Fontaine, and then go to Inazuma after
you can't actually do this because the archon quests are sequential, but none of the story would break if you were able to
Other than the story the only gameplay advancement they added has been Dendro, which mostly acted as a bandaid fix to Electro, before people figured out hyperbloom lets you have your feet in 3 pairs of shoes at once. An unbelievable power spike that the devs never addressed.
In terms of actual playable content, shit to do with the character you roll for, there's the abyss floor 12 and that is it.
It has even gotten much easier since 1.0
Then you have the "exploration" which at this point is tired and boring. The same 3 puzzles reskinned a hundred times over. It's the same shit.

NTA, but while I enjoyed the quest, I did not enjoy all the weird names they insisted on using for everything. Keep it to at maximum 2-3 foreign words per story, not 9+. While I eventually understood what most of these meant, it was just exhausting to read in practice. There's no reason they couldn't have just used "honor guard" instead of yasnapati for example. I get that the point was to make it sound exotic, but it just felt tiresome.

how is the content difficulty and powercreep in hsr? Cause genshin has stuff that's 'designed around' characters all the time too like abyss, but in reality even that is so easy you can use whatever you want and fricking launch 4stars haven't been topped.
They are steadily increasing the difficulty and silently buffing the enemies in "abyss", but team building still remains an important aspect. you need at least bronya (launch standard 5*) and a limited dps at the minimum to stay comfortable. Creep hasn't been a big issue so far, you just need to work harder than a paypiggie would have to.

I really don't get why people hate the system so much. They give you so much time to save for who you want and they're constantly giving away free wishes and even 5* characters now.
My problem is actually that there is a rotation, if I could roll for who I want, when I want, I could stomach a gacha system, but the fact that I have to wait potentially years for a character that actually appeals to me to come around again is enough on its own to filter me, I don't have time to make massive amounts of [insert premium currency here], if i'm away on business when a character I really like is the banner of choice then I am shit out of luck unless I fork over potentially £100+ to get it and that money could be put to FAR better use.
Honestly if the game was paid and the characters were unlocked via questlines or challenges or something I think i'd enjoy the game more.

Yea, it's pretty bad. The gameplay is an extremely watered down form of a JRPG. No possibility of dodging or evading attacks. Can't use items in battle. Don't gain XP through battle. Only form of resource management is managing skill points across your party. The story is poorly written and most characters are bland. There's no tension or choices you make that actually matter. The meta is bland. Just get a hypercarry DPS comp, preferably of the destruction path. The worlds really aren't that interesting either. Belebog had potential but thats it.
You do gain exp trough battle its just a comically small amount thats near inexistant
also if you don't have a 5 star sustainer (shielder or healer) you will be unable to ask for any advice on the game because people will just tell you "roll for luocha/fuxuan/huohuo" on repeat, and none of them are appearing for months.
Bailu was my first 5 star and she basically saved my ass the entire game.
Yea, you need a 5 star sustainer, a 5 star DPS that isn't MC, and 2 buffers or 1 buffer and debuffer. Those are the majority of comps. At least Topaz offers dual DPS follow up comps but that's about the only outlier I've seen. The game just feels so solved at this point.

Honestly Genshin has far more variety, not just teams but how you implement them. Abusing how Jean's burst interacts with Bennett's to apply stupid amounts of pyro to enable overvape or forward vape or just shred through shields just couldn't be a thing in Star Rail
You don't need a 5 star DPS. Xueyi is going to be one of the better damage dealers in the game when she comes out, and even Dan's first form gets fast clears in the hardest content. It's all about building them right.
