Dark Souls is closer in regards to atmosphere, sure, but I think the combat would have to be way more acrobatic and a bit faster. They were always jumping around and slashing extremely faster than you could see.
Maybe Elden Ring is a middle-ground, but I havent played it so i wouldnt know.

A lot of fricking manga does that. They start with a premise and then run out of ideas so they start doing moronic schizo shit to try and drag it out. Some just do it sooner than others so it's thinly veiled unless you read alot.
How Claire became a Claymore was probably the best origin story I've ever seen. The anime turned to shit at the end, though. Also it seemed to have some sort fem dom humilation shit going on with the boy and Claire. "I'm...so...useless..."
It was also boring because the Claymore are so OP, no other characters can compete. Within the Claymores, level 1 was exponentially more powerful than all other Claymores combined. The Claymores sort of blend together because they all look the same.
Give me a Goblin slayer game instead. With tools and environmental preparations that are essential to take on the hirdes of enemies
