You know what's funny? Horizon 1 came out literal weeks around Zelda Breath of the Wild and was forgotten. Buried even. Horizon 2 came out literal weeks around Elden Ring and was forgotten. Buried even. Sony PR has sort of soft-announced the Horizon multiplayer game and watch that thing drop when Elden Ring DLC comes out or something equally as funny like GTA6.
This franchise has some of the most unlucky release cycles. If Aloy was better looking like her concept art she wouldn't be this cursed.
Seriously. Im looking forward to you Black folk pirating the PC release because Horizon is single-player Monster Hunter mixed with Witcher. Gameplay is genuinely fantastic, and the story isnt too bad thanks to side characters like Sylens. Aloy is still the worst part, undoubtedly, and it sucks because they removed SO many dialogue choices that HZD had, so Aloy comes off as an arrogant know-it-all instead of however you could make her be. She's not a Mary Sue in HFW, she's autistic and her worst qualities are her lack of people-skills, but she comes off so unbearable. I liked her more in HZD

He is but they don't do anything with him interesting because everyone has to revolve around Aloy. For example half the game she is angry at him for intensely childish reasons when he'd already helped her save the world. Then he comes back to help again but it's all in the context of how Aloy wants it.

I think its really interesting that they justify bandit camp clearing with the fact that Sylens is gathering them to create an Army to fight off the ancient ones which gave Main Story importance to side content, but thats all they do with him, besides have him scold you over the Focus for most of the game
The game's biggest issue is Aloy is the most boring character on screen at any time but she is also the only one allowed to be truly important so much so she is almost like a black hole. She is a clone and the OG aloy was the most important person in the past. There is another clone who is on the bad guy side and of course she is the most important person in that group. There are scenes in this game where Aloy 1 talks to Aloy 2 while Past Aloy is talking in the background, and Aloy 1 and Aloy 2 discuss Past Aloy's merits.
The shit is fricking insane. Even minor supporting characters are superior to Aloy. Also Aloy is an ugly fricking dyke.
Its monster hunter, if you remove the monster hunter parts and focus on ubisoft open world.
