I work with Blender for living. It's fantastic, especially with plugins. But for making a porn game, it is still better to use Daz. I wish it wasn't the case, but it is. For porn renders or videos, Blender is obviously better.

And even if I would ignore the absolute mess around importing/exporting genesis models with textures & materials, there is virtually no reason, because you would remove the biggest reason to use Daz - absolutely frickhuge library of assets ready to go. But if you want to make a porn game with exclusively your content, sure, use whatever you like. But the implication that has on development time is obvious.

Wish I could help you, anon. But for me, it was pretty straightforward. I studied 3D in school, and I was hired before I even finished my education just like the majority of my class. I originally studied Max and Cinema, but Blender it is today.

Maya is certainly a way to go on most markets. But it really depends on your local companies and/or what you want to do. Blender is pretty cool for hard surface, be it making props to games, to dumb stuff like filling virtual houses with furniture. I know Cinema and Max fairly well, Maya just a bit, and I had no issues of finding the work. Then again, this is central Europe, your market might be different.
Still, calling Blender a "toy software" is very meme.

The moment you try to emote the face is the moment you get goblinas supreme because those base morphs are both shit and work even worse when you start morphing your characters.
The heroine in my game isn't as globina as most of the renders I see on DAZ, but that's because I used various tricks:
1. Genesis 8.1 instead of Genesis 8: the 8.1 models have a new technology in the face that makes the expressions more realistic and less "Chucky the Killer Doll".
2. Face Controls: help you create better facial expressions
3. use child models: the heroine of my game is based on a child model that I manually aged
