ChatGPT functions as a more intelligent search. It can help you if you have questions, better than Google can, but it can't make the game for you, unless your game is extremely simple and you spend a lot of time coaxing out the right answers

Like, in my example of a VN, you already have renpy and tyrannosomething, both of which are basically just fill the blank engines. I'd say to give it a go if you want and see for yourself, I've been using it at work already but for different purposes (still coding and scripting related) and it's made my life a lot easier. I can definitely see someone with zero knowledge getting a working application out of it though. Maybe not something like a complex shooter like Doom Eternal, but they could probably get a 3d maze working with random encounters.

I don't know about making a game, but I have literally no clue about how to write python or use pandas or any other packages or any coding (of course i know more now since I've been using it) and I can give chatgpt instructions of how to retrieve data from any api and then perform transformations it with even the most poorly constructed instructions that I don't think even a human would understand if I told them.
It's not perfect by any means, because it can't see the errors the code has, you have to manually provide the errors back, and the limitation on length requires you to break things down, or learn enough to know how to put something together, but it is okay at debugging when you give it the error code.
But sometimes you just need to force it to take a different approach altogether to avoid that,
anyway I'm sure you could probably make a simple game if you knew what you wanted. It is also good at explaining stuff anyway

I don't think you really understand that chatgpt gives you a complete code, customized for exactly what you want to do.
It is not equivalent to reading docs, learning the syntax, learning what each function does, figuring out exactly what function you need to use, figuring out how it has to be used together with another function, and THEN that's when you can get to copypasting anything from the docs.

But once you get a small group of people who actually like your shit, they basically shill it for you. I haven’t fricked with AI at all, but I’d definitely recommend it. If you have any ability to write a decent story, it’s piss easy to come out ahead of the pack in that genre.

I believe I can write something decent with interesting characters but English is not my first language so I can't make it too complicated. Or I have to find someone to translate everything so it sounds more natural.
