The only games I remember talking about positively in 2012 Ganker were a budget Capcom side project, spinoffs and remasters for a then 5yo JRPG and an erotic VN-slash-RPG hybrid game featuring monster girls.
All I remember Ganker talking about FC3 back then was "Skyrim with guns" memes and how Vaas was an actually fun villain in an otherwise average game.
It might have been a decent romp in hindsight but it is not the kind of game the average 2012 Gankerirgin would enjoy.
Incredible how telltale survived for as long as they did. Technically speaking, their games were pure dogshit, they had shitty audio quality, lack of many sound effects and animations almost as bad as those from Minecraft.
MHW losing to Onions of War was cringe but rest seem ok even the ones u mention I can sorta see why.
But the outer worlds being nominated in 2019 over outer wilds, and then Black personpoop also being a nominee in 2021 is lmao
Definitely overwatch. Online games should be forbidden from winning GOTY as they rely on the community and the devs not fricking up to remain the same quality. Dragon Age might be a turd but at least I can go play it and have the same experience people did back then. Cant say the same for OW.

it's not a bad movie game but a movie game absolutely does not deserve the title of "GOTY".
for me, it's 1 + 400 days>4>2>3, 4 is higher than 2 because 2 was dogshit half of the time and season 4 provides a nice ending for clementine, also the lee dream made me cry like a b***h
It was between this, Double Dragon Neon, or Dragon's Dogma for GOTY. 2012 was one of the worst years during the Dark Age of Video games (2014 was much worse though)
