XY = Unfinished, I guess GF was adapting to 3ds and for some reason didn't have the time to release a final version
ORAS = Mechanical/Art wise is good (XY wasn't that bad either), but the game is absurdly easy.
SM = Improvement from previous releases, even these versions feel finished. Starters evolutions are questionable, and the major flaw is the neverending cutscenes.
USUM = Even more improvement, but keeps some flaws like the long cutscenes that make it tedious to replay.
you’re an idiot
in SM every other Elite Four member is a kahuna rematch
except Kahili who shows up out of nowhere
she was obviously meant to be a trial captain

if the game were finished, either all of the Elite Four would be new characters or all of them would be rematches
instead we have Kahili who sticks out like a sore thumb
What the frick do you think they were planning for Kahili, Ryuki, and Mina? Their designs are way too specific to be generic NPCs, they were obviously all meant to have a bigger role
in SM, every other Elite Four fight is a rematch with a previous trial captain
the whole point is that you’re supposed to become close to all of the characters, so they intentionally made it so that those characters are never far away
you can’t really come to know Kahili as a person because she has almost no time in the spotlight
They were awful. It was a weird time for GF when the hardware was good enough for full 3D but they were still too incompetent to follow through so we got this weird half-assed experience instead. The only things that make them good are that its the last 2 generations with complete Pokedex' The USUM remakes are gonna be fricking sick when they come out in like 20 years though
USUM is objectively better than SM aside from the story. It's only worse in the context of its release because it didn't improve on SM enough to warrant being sold as separate games, hence it feels like a blatant cashgrab.
XY was not a masterpiece but was good enough. It had a good amount of content, especially at the time when even the visuals were new. Everything after has copy pasted from it and now that we've gone though the same models for a decade replaying XY would be a lesser experience.
SM, USUM are genuinely bad. ORAS is just not as good as the games it was remaking
ORAS is just not as good as the games it was remaking >721 Pokemon vs 386 Pokemon >Dexnav >Soaring >the first game where you can catch a mythical Pokemon (Deoxys) without an event >a well fleshed-out story with further character development than RSE
+
General QoL improvements from being a Gen 6 game like: >Day-night cycle >PSS >Physical-Special split >Infinite use TMs
ORAS may not be superior to Emerald, but they are superior to RS. In some ways they are inferior (gimped New Mauville, Granite Cave layout rearranged, Trick House only has 6 puzzles rather than 8, easier overall, etc.) but it makes up for it and exceeds it in other regards.
>but they are superior to RS
There hasn't been a remake that isn't better than the originals yet I thought that was obvious. Even fricking BDSP is miles ahead of DP, but it just shows how good the third version was for some games when you have to put an asterisk when saying a remake is better than the base games
>BDSP is miles ahead of DP
How so aside from the Platinum mons being in the Underground?
the forced affection ruins the attempt made to make a difficult game
the old graphics were more charming
they somehow added more railroading like forcing you to go down Cycling Road in order to backtrack to Oreburgh the first time
XY= it felt like a beta, the games are fun and a Pokemon Z could have perhaps made it feel like a complete game
ORAS= a side-grade to pokemon emerald, i guarantee that everyone would say its peak pokemon if they included the battle frontier, its a very easy game but i dont midn since all games are mostly easy, doesnt help that you get a free latios tho (i did box it, using it is optional morons)
SM=that profesor with her meowth made me get a game over, after that everything was easy, also the game has a shit ton of dialog but at least the story is good
USUM=has more content and its a bit more challenging (Ultra Necrozma KOd me twice), the story got butchered tho and its mostly the same game as SM, i dont know why this wasnt some sort of downloadable DLC for SM
3DS Pokemon games imo, pretty ok
my favorite is defenitly ORAS, the delta episode was kino for me
more stuff i would like to add about XY, i put alot of hours into this game, stuff like encountering moltres made me jump a bit because i did not expect it, and catching legendaries like Zygarde would make me scream my lungs out of exitement, these games to me were as magical as BW2 (a game i love dearly)
I would do anything to get a Pokemon Z, i wanna know more about AZ and i want Team Flare do stuff with Zygarde like they did with the anime, Kalos may not be my favorite but i loved every second of it, i still got my Volcanion ive yet to transfer to the other games
>XY
Shit >ORAS
Pretty decent >SM
Decent as well but slightly worse than ORAS >USUM
Decent but ruined by the fact that it has some of the least noteworthy changes of a third version, and what is changed is usually worse than in SM
better than the DS games but not as good as the gameboy games

>SM
>felt finished
What the frick are you talking about?
>no context for Kahili besides an unused golf course
>no context for Ryuki
>Mina’s “trial”
>no context for Kahili
She's a past champion that got called back to join the E4, what other context is needed?
we never met her up until that point
she was clearly an unused trial captain design
they were too lazy/rushed to make a Flying trial
holy shit bros every pokemon game ever is unfinished because literally all of them have E4 members we don't meet beforehand
see
Where's the context for all other previous elite four members? Is RSE unfinished because there's no context for the bald dark type dude?
you’re an idiot
in SM every other Elite Four member is a kahuna rematch
except Kahili who shows up out of nowhere
she was obviously meant to be a trial captain
>they put effort into developing 3 of the E4 members instead 0 of them therefore the game is less finished
clown logic
Apples to oranges, it's clear that game isn't as baked as it should be.
if the game were finished, either all of the Elite Four would be new characters or all of them would be rematches
instead we have Kahili who sticks out like a sore thumb
>the game didn't match my fanfic so it's unfinished
cool meme bro
What the frick do you think they were planning for Kahili, Ryuki, and Mina? Their designs are way too specific to be generic NPCs, they were obviously all meant to have a bigger role
>they were obviously meant to [FANFIC]
wtf bros why does Lucian have a unique design? he was obviously meant to do more! Platinum is unfinished!

i consider them more "disappointing" than "bad"
SM and ORAS were good. The rest sucked.
