do simpler quests
kill weaker enemies
lower difficulty if you're still having problems
at the start you don't even need items but you aren't supposed to engage guards early on at fort joy
Teleporter Gloves
you got to find proper gear. and theres people on the island you can recruit to your team as well. beginning does suck if you dont know what youre doing, it made me put down the game at first then I had a friend co op with me and show me how to get around the first area and I played the rest of the game solo and had a good time. Except for the very end act which was shit.
The game has an inverse difficulty curve. Act 1 is hard due to lack of tools and what not but it gets much easier as it goes along. But be creative with what you have and dont play fair.
>and dont play fair.
this, I hate exploiting the AI in these kind of games but sometimes you're forced to or else they'll just one shot your entire team.
Also despite being open world every combat is meant to be faced at a certain level and a level or two makes a big difference unless you install the anti level scaling mod
Well I meant more in setting up the battle and being clever with spells not so much exploiting the AI. I recall when I beat this game with my friend if the battle was harder we would be sneaky in how we started battles and would prep the field. Maybe the hardest battle in the game was that butcher dude in the basement of the castle in act 1. That fight is frickin brutal. I recall starting it by basically kidnapping like 2 of the side dudes from extreme range so we only fought them and not the rest of the pack. Then when the main fight started we left some oil barrels to do dot damage at for the whole fight. Was fun.
I consider setting up the combat arena before combat exploiting the AI.
Or starting combat with a single character while the rest hides to move around. Even the early game its not too bad if you use every trick in the book
I found it fun and being clever. Of course you can make your own call on whats exploiting the ai. Stealth is a mechanic but is starting the fight with a stealth user insta killing someone exploiting the AI? You kinda have to make your own call.
>be rogue enemy
>can Shunpo a set distance
>climb a tower
>can shunpo even further for some reason
How the frick does that make any sense?
Highground = range increase
Find any heavy object, drop it on foes, win all encounters without effort.
What difficulty?
anything on normal or lower and you can basically just stumble through the game
You're probably just lacking new gear for your characters. The game has a pretty moronic item scaling system. Just having gear that is one item level higher than your current one can make the biggest difference. That being said you really shouldn't be having that much trouble during the first act, outside the last battle before next act of course.
Am I just bad or is the final fight just simply aids? Lucius just goes and oneshots Ifan, then the kraken has a hard on for my rogue, I can't even get close to bracchus because some of the enemies somehow get to come twice before my own guys. It feels like the game throws it's own rules into the trash just to make that fight "hard".
My friend killed the final boss in one turn. It was so frickin anticlimatic it was hilarious. I mean he was fane but still it was so dumb. I could say the real final boss was the 1v1 for godhood but jesus frick endgame warrior vs endgame mage was so in his favor I wanted to vomit.
Gear, and with it armour, scales heavily with level at the early game, and your lack of funds combined with plethora of things to buy means you’ll probably get fricked if you pick fights above your level.
Stick with fights solely in your level range until you get out of fort joy
>pick up a bedroll
>can just click on it and be full hp with no punishment
>even right before encounters
>resting also gives buffs
>these buffs carry over into combat as well
>somehow people still get filtered by this braindead shit
