It's RPG and overworld exploration parts are a bit lackluster and writing is inconsistent, but it is very fun hacking and slashing. The amount of skeletons you kill just in the first dungeon is absurd.
There's not much to say about a 4/10 (and that's being generous because Larian had very few resources at the time).
The two first Divinity games are a complete waste of time, there's no reason whatsoever to play them when Sacred 1&2 and Baldur's 1&2 provide the same experience FAR better.
it's a 7 at least, assuming BG2 is a 9. DD is a proper CRPG without the party tedium and RTWP autism. something like this didn't exist back then, meaning there was a reason to play it simply because it was unique. the writing is also unique, but not bad. the only reason not to play it, is when you want the dumbest Diablo combat clone, like Sacred
The best part about scorpions is how you can tie them to your character with the skill that makes summons follow you.
You get a permanent pet that way, as they count as summons for some reason.
At least that was possible when I played it back then.
I love how larian was so proud of this piece of shit that they wouldn't stop referencing it and the two player style. Meanwhile they fricking HATED divine divinity for a long time.
It's not that bad, it just gets dragged out at the end. The Nemesis setting and the especially the Imp villiage is top tier. I hated the battlegrounds though.
>How come Ganker never talks about this game?
Most of Ganker in 2024 is zoomers that are too young to have played the game when it came out or to know of it.
because barely anyone on here has played
one of the best rpgs and games ever made, it's scary to me how close they were to making a 10/10 game, the only thing bringing it down is the very rushed final part of the game (the overworld in the final area is empty as frick and there's only one mid tier dungeon)
cause its older than many posters on this board. imo, this was the best game Larian ever made

t.american
Americans hate killing skeletons?
>Chaos-corrupted shota king plays the troll & the maiden with his personal chambermaid
the absolute divine divinity
I've never played it (yet, I do plan to) but it has amazing music.
played all larian games and its easily my fave
not bad

It's dogshit
I thought it was mid when it first came out. Bored and reinstalled it a couple weeks ago. Uninstalled after 30 minutes. God damn it did not age well.
Ganker didn't resist the polymorh trap and got permanently turned into a frog
Scorpions OP.
how else am i supposed to kill josephine the first time? she's op as frick.
also, the music in this game is phenomenal, possibly the best vidya ost in history
why didn't you have a stun effect on your weapon?
i don't know

Why do they force you to control two players at once in the sequel? Does it ruin the experience?
i did create some threads of mention it, relly nice game, you can broke the game easily but still its kino
yeah

Because Divinity Original Sin was the first good Larian game and no one played their games before that.
It's the only good Divinity game, so of course Ganker rarely brings it up
Bg3 is better
Still worse than Dark Souls
>Dark Souls
Worse than Captain Toad
I have fond memories of it but when I tried replaying it recently I couldn't really get into it.
Same for BG2 2bh.
Why not?
only good Larian game
I think so too
Too good for 'em.

It was overshadowed by more popular games of the time.
Plus there's not a lot to talk about the game, but I could say the same for diablo.
I loved this game. I have the original on disk and I have a cheap digital copy. this is larians best game.
i found this - too bad my laptop doesn't have a drive
Just pirate the GoG version, works well enough on my machine.
i will probably buy it cuz it's just 99 cents on gog atm..i mean, that's basically nothing

Bugs and the ugly perspective
Too busy talking about JRPGs and trans rights.
>the publisher forced them to rename the game to Divine Divinity because they thought titles with alliterations had more success
