How come F-Zero had such little cultural impact compared to Wipeout, despite the former being a better series? every modern anti-grav racer is basically a copy of Wipeout.

>every modern anti-grav racer
That's like two indie games.
>dildo onesie simulator vs. cool futurist racer with pumping music
Yeah I wonder why
Wipeout more like Wipeass lololol
More people know it from Smash Bros than its own franchise lmao.
That isn't even a hot take. The series was abandoned by nintendo because it sold badly. That's all.
Fast Racing is mostly F-Zero with a bit of Wipeout mostly references in the visuals.
If even SEGA couldn't save your racing game franchise from dying and being buried, it wasn't good to begin with.
but SEGA are the masters of dying and being buried
>makes threads to shit talk F-Zero
>gets upset when people continue to like F-Zero in spite of his incredible "argumentation"
Why do you keep doing this?
how am I shit talking F-Zero? I just said it's a better series, every entry except one GBA game is solid AF.
These threads are set-ups for your to say "dildo cars and onesies". You're not subtle.
ok schizo
Feed your kids, mate.
Oh look it's that "F-Queero" guy. On his same brain loop again. What's up man, you still mad about speedrunning techniques' nebulous impact on your normal play experience or did you get over that one yet?
>despite the former being a better series?
Disagree, but isn't it obvious? Wipeout's presentation is as slick you can get. Top tier art and music that had its finger on the pulse of everything cool at the time of its release.
Wipeout was demo'd in, and had its soundtrack played in UK nightclubs.
F-Zero was a game for 8 year olds.
Stop replying to yourself.
Wipeout's presentation is boring as all hell. I hate that minimalist look and gay bar music.
only Wipeout 3 was minimalist in its presentation
With the exception of one game that's a literal modern port of Wipeout, most futuristic racers seem to split the difference, with F-Zero's speed and Wipeout's setting.
probably halo-effect from ninty-stuff still being viewed as child-toys back then and psx-games as mature games for mature gamers such as myself.
plus the cameo of the wipeout-prototype-concept-whatever in the 1995-movie "Hackers" was nice, though I doubt many people would recognize it as such
and the banger background-music of wipeout, of course.
F-Zero X bombed and was on console that didn't sell as high as the playstation. Wipeout in contrast were big hits.
F-Zero targeted kids, Wipeout targeted cool kids
Wipeout had great music, very of its time.
The OST. F-Zero has great tunes but Wipeout had The Chemical Brothers and Orbital.
Because Wipeout is F-Zero with Mario Kart-style weapons and a electronica/acid house soundtrack. It appeals more to the casual crowd brought in by the launch of the Playstation then the hardcore gamers playing F-Zero on SNES/N64.
Show you haven't played Wipeout in a long time. Combat race is only one type of race available. You have eliminator, zone(best racing mode ever), detonator, zone battle, fast lap. Oh and weapons is just a race option not something mandatory.
F-Zero is sterile
Wouldn't even be mentioned so often if it wasn't a Nintendo licence
F-Zero X has a stellar metal aesthetic. The art design in that game alone sets it apart from Wipeout. It doesn't even feel like a Nintendo property.
Wipeout will always be, and should be, held near higher tiers of forgettable, stylish, yuppie knock-offs. Lumines to Tetris, baby.
(look at the fricking opening to this game. the UI. this shit is a lost art. looking like human wizards made some magic in this game. Who cares about the outdated gameplay. This shit is apples to oranges. So much polish in it. You an shine this turd, but Wipeout is a fart. Unusable.)
F-Zero X looks like artwork stolen from 2000A.D magazine.
hell yeah it does and it's fricking rad
It's rather pathetic and sad. It's just another case of japan stealing without consequence.
your mother looks like a diseased elephant, but you don't see the zoos claiming lawsuits.
Why are seething? Stop being emotionaly invested in multi million companies that have no creativity and engage in shameles theft.
Cope and seethe yourself, young man. I thought you made these threads to get down in the muck. I feel that I might have bested you, in a manner that broke your blackened little heart. I hope you find an equally weak opponent soon, so that you may stroke your shattered ego. I'm breaking multiple copies of Wipeout (PSX) between my toes as I type this.
>still seething
it appears you'd rather respond to your own posts than engage in the arena you've created.
here's a longplay of Walt Disney World Quest: Magical Racing Tour. it sold better than Wipeout, you can get it for cheaper on eBay, and it's a much better game.
>he's still going
sorry, I forgot to share the link
>It's just another case of japan stealing without consequence
It's always fine when they do it, I have noticed that.
look at this boring ass game. take off your nostalgia glasses and tell me this isn't something grandpas fall asleep to. I wouldn't wipe my ass with this.
Wipeout, from here on out, should be compared to games of similar quality.
>play easy mode
>surprise, it's boring!
moron
>F-Zero 64 has a stellar metal aesthetic.
F-Zero GX did maybe. F-Zero 64 had less personality than even F-Zero.
i like wipeout more than f-zero, but honestly i'm sad about the disappearance of both
i wish they made a big comeback
F-Zero is more cartoony, thus looks childish. WipeOut has that cool cyberpunk aesthetic that's stylish. And this comes from someone who likes F-Zero, too.
Wipeout reminds me of Hugo Bukkazoom!
If anybody happens to own a PS2, might I suggest playing the superior Wipeout clone?
Who revved up the nintoddler in this ITT.
