I don’t think most casual fans gave a frick. And for those that did it was just something they had to bitterly accept.

LGPE was accepted because it was a spin off
SwSh was accepted because the game was trash so nothing of value was lost
SV will be accepted because it's normalized now and people forgot about the controversy
a lesser man might even say they made SwSh bad on purpose

as if a bunch of gays and troonys online could do anything to the highest grossing franchise on the planet.

None of us have power, even as a collective. They are that powerful.

    Just accept it.

cry about it then. you, your business and your 60$ mean nothing to TPC.

continue to vocalize your opinions to an echo chamber of powerless people who all feel the same way.

If you want a hugbox you can go to serebii forums where Joe will make sure to ban people still complaining, stupid shill

You did buy the games though. A kid used his parents’ credit card and actually bought 3 games instead of just Sword and Shield. Instead of returning it or giving it away, he kept for display on his book shelf. That copy is yours anon. The Pokémon Company will never know the difference and will just assume you bought it anyways. Why wouldn’t they? It was the 2nd highest selling mainline game. You can’t win.

“It isn’t enough to accept TPC. You must love them.”

Why should I care about the dex cut?
    >pokemon isn’t in game
    >use one of the other 400 pokemon instead

Fans didn't accept it, it's just that casuals didn't care. Kids are too young to realize why this is a huge issue while manchildren who haven't played since Yellow want to relive their childhood. The real fans either moved on or gave TPCI a shitton of free advertising with BBND.

Because we played the games when there were only 150 of the little frickers. The frick would we complain about having 400+ of them?? If anything, we should complain that there are too many of these shits now.

the way i see it, shareholders don't really give a shit about what people care about the game so long as they buy it, and it's extremely difficult to coerce a large majority of the fanbase to fight back on something when they don't takes the games seriously to begin with, since yknow, they're games.

Everyone here pretty much hit upon the reasons but I think it can be summarised as:

    >Development time and storage space can be saved if GF don't have to implement every Pokémon in every game
    >Older mons can be sold as easy DLC content
    >People aren't going to pay for a Home subscription if they can just leave the mons on a cartridge
    >Kids and normies are unaware or just don't care
    >The hardcore fans will buy every product regardless of quality, and push hashtags like ThankYouGamefreak to silence criticism
    >The dissenters are not numerous enough to affect sales, thus either leave the fandom (so no longer raise objections) or begrudgingly tolerate it and buy anyway (so essentially become complicit)

Unless there is a major flop, Gamefreak are never going to reassess the situation. Why would they? Extra work for no profit doesn't sell to upper management.

It's not something that effects the majority of casual players because they just play through the story and stop, most of the Pokemon in the national dex are never available during that period anyway.

genwunners who were kids during the height of pokemania, like me, gave up on this series a long time ago.

it began around gen 3. not because it outright sucked, but because home consoles like PS2 had cooler games for teens, and girls were developing breasts and hips and so became wildly more interesting.

those few of us who still collected cards and played on the gba were slowly losing interest. pokemania was over. the new mons and cards didnt feel as magical as they used to. by the time gen 4 came out it was all emulators and reliving nostalgia in solitude. so the dexcut really didnt mean much.

Why do people think posting shit like this remotely believable when you're on /vp/

if you dont believe me why did you even bother replying to me? honestly, what?
you think genwunners dont exist on Ganker?
you think they dont feel the series has degraded over time and pokemania never happened again?
i rememer in uni when pokemon go was becoming normie-nerd culture but even then it was never like it was back in the first 2000s.

    >Larger dex than the prior gen with actually interesting designs instead of dozens of babies and shitmons
    >New region with vibrant ecology instead of a series of hallways cashing in on nostalgia
    >Full-color graphics actually appropriate for the system the game launched on
    >Overworld water reflections and weather
    >All-new ability system, natures and entirely revamped mechanics
    >Cool last act that raises the stakes with environmental disaster
    >Do not have to see a single fricking Charizard for the entire game
Why are we hating on Ruby/Sapphire again?
