I'm probably as big of a Nintendo fanboy as you can get, I didn't care of Tears of the Kingdom because it just felt like too much of the same.
The combat was only okay in Breath of the Wild, zero improvements.
The shrines were too repetitive in Breath of the Wild, the exact same model of progression is imported over with zero improvements.
The "dungeons" in Breath of the Wild were lacking, and as much as the game wants you to think dungeons are back, they share the same open ended design philosophy as the Divine Beasts, it just had no improvements.
Breath of the Wild had a lot of stuff it could of elevated, and the sequel did none of that in favor of a Gary's Mod style freebuild feature.
I can't even remember where in the campaign I stopped playing, but I did not finish every dungeon and certainly didn't find every area on the map.

See, this is why Sony is far superior to Nintendo. Sony makes actual games that respect your intelligence and your time. They are thought provocking, emotional masterpieces that challenge your understanding of videogames and in some cases, such as the Last of Us, l the world around us.
Where as Nintendo's games are nothing but cheap children's toys. Toya that break within a minute of playtime. Pokemon Scat and Vomit were some of the worst games ever made. Nintendo gave GameFreak the ok to release those games in their current states. They should all be ashamed. Xenoblade 3 was some of the most generic weeb dogshit ever produced that was riding off the back of Genshin Impact. Totk was a complete reskin made by a bunch of no talent developers. And don't get me started on Smash Ultimate, a lazy cashgrab made by a washed up hack and his interns.
The Switch 2 is going to be the biggest flop in all of gaming. I will laugh when it comes out with zero games and flops hard. I will be sitting pretty playing on my PS5 pro when it happens.

Because BoTW has four piss easy dungeons and everything else is copy pasted everywhere. Somehow, ToTK is a worse version of BoTW, except for traveling.
Games learned from Ocarina of Time and got better. The Legend of Zelda didn't.
Game is stuck in 1998, with gimmicks thrown in to provide the illusion of advancement despite the horrible execution of core mechanics, storytelling, worldbuilding and visuals.

No. BotW aren't bad or misguided enough to warrant mention in an overarching discussion of vidya. They're the worst kind of creative output: mediocre.
