How did Dppt manage to be so boring despite having "The god of all pokemon", a pokemon that controls time, one that controls space, and "The devil pokemon". Was it lack of inclusion or did they not properly demonstrate their powers in the game? I suppose Arceus being locked behind Azure flute was a big detriment to the games. Feels like they botched it pretty bad.

Because it had those. They're boring ideas. Mew has more mystique. Unknown has more. Arceus is a boring concept executed in a boring way, while also basically cheapening a lot of other, better legendaries.

Honestly yeah. I didnt want to say it but those ideas are inherently boring and they did nothing to help their cases.

Sinnoh as a region is almost entirely connected to the creation mon, where they want to show they're powerful yet not powerful enough that they don't ruin their "mysteriousness." The end result is a handful of deities who they're too scared to show doing anything besides what they're explicitly described as doing. Even in the animes when they're rioting or whatever it's just "oh no time/space/dimensions is falling apart" and Arceus just fires a frickton of laser beams.

Adding on cause I just thought about this as well: time, space, antimatter, and [insert monotheistic god traits here] are incredibly vague and they don't do anything to fill those gaps. You can have shit like Groudon creating earthquakes, volcanoes, rockslides, or Xerneas energizing Pokemon or growing flowers. How do you depict "god of time" powers where all you have to go off of is that the user is a blue dino dragon? Roar of Time doesn't really display anything besides being a beam of "time energy."

The way Shadows of Almia did it.

These are unironically Pokemon OCs you'd find in an RP forum or DeviantArt made by insecure 13 year old edgelords who constantly have to one up each other in RP fights and it's amazing Pokemon thought they were a good direction to the take the franchise in.

Games with big stakes on the world, or even galactic risk are boring because they're not grounded. Any game that would have you save a small town with some npcs you've interacted with a lot has much more stakes than "ohh ummm GOD is going to blow up EVERYTHING unless YOU stop it, hero!!!!"

It can work, it's just that Pokemon doesn't give two shits about developing an area beyond flowery easily skippable NPC text and a boss trainer that only exists to be a boss fight.

Almost the entirety of the Sinnoh games just feels like shit was thrown in for the sake of it. Like, "oh this would be a cool idea just put it in lol" and had no thought beyond that.
Like the Great Marsh, it sounds like a cool idea in theory to have the Pokemon rotate per day or to have spots that you get stuck in and have to wriggle out to emulate a marsh experience, but neither mechanic actually adds to the game and instead does nothing but waste your time or actively discourage you from wanting to engage with it. And that sort of thing is all over the games. Honey Trees being another prime example.
    It's just all so tedious.
