Forbes’ source is their ass. They really have no idea what a private company does outside of what has been disclosed, which is nothing in the case of Valve. My guess is that Forbes thinks that Valve got outside investment in the way Epic did. But Valve has never disclosed that and neither has any (presumably) public company that would have to dilsclose it.
