how did they manage to make such an uninspired piece of shit game and slap a 70$ tag on it?

People buy KTslop?
Please commit suicide you disgusting fat obese NEET gays. Get a job. If you can't get a job, get some basic fucking levels of respect for other human beings.
These games costs MILLIONS to make, need HUNDREDS of workers (perhaps more), and THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of hours to create. They should be charging far, far more than an hour and a half worth of work, especially when games give you dozens, perhaps hundreds of hours of fun and joy.
shut the fuck up you retarded cunt, KT has no idea how to release a fully working title

I honestly gave the game a try, got to the first bonfire and quit. Nioh games are way better anyway
Ninja Gaiden for Xbox was 30 years ago.
go back to bed and get off WWE champions Phil
>love Nioh
>expected Nioh 3
>pre ordered it
>turns out the game is designed to not even start on some windows versions, including mine
>preordered it
They had the demo you blind moron!!!!! We could have had Meiji Era Nioh 3...
That's literally what Rise of Ronin is. The Nioh director implied he was interested in doing a celtic era in the far future but for now they're putting the IP on ice, probably to get back to finally working on ninja gaiden since DMC5 and Bayo 3 proved that there is still interest in the stylish action genre.
I'm glad Nioh 3 was spared from the chud pronoun garbage so far but at the same time I have absolutely no excitement for it now considering I know they'll do it.
Winblows 7? It's time to move on.
Good question its the worst trash ive played since lords of the fallen at least lords of the fallen ad decent graphs..
Okay since this is the wo long thread.
I did the dreaded 3 man gank squad mission just now and it wasn't so bad.
I've you've played a battle in nioh or even fromsoft game before that pitted you against more than 2 npcs, the same rules apply. Divide and conquer and use a really good stunlocking weapon that can break posture just as well.
Used a staff and they went down quickly one by one. Also remember to use your resonates.
Now do it on NG+
Same tactics apply.
In nioh, if you were faced with gank squads, especially humans, the goal is always to try and seperate them and use a weapon that can break their posture asap, like high stance odachi or tonfas. In Wo Long staves are probably the best in doing this since they hit fast and deal god spirit damage.
That said, going from staff to slower weapons like glaives or axes really feels like shit. Recovering spirit really takes a while by comparison and you're generally more exposed to critical attacks since all your moves have big wind ups.
and that's why they're dreaded because everyone isn't using the same tactics and weapons to make them trivial
I didn't have too bad of a time beating them on NG with staff, but it was really hard when I fought them in NG+ because you can easily die in 1-2 hits if you get hit by a red attack, and sometimes they do one off screen or do them at the same time.
Wasted more than an hour on them until I just gave up and moved on and only managed to beat them when I returned after I beat NG+ so I'm overleveled for the mission. It's literally the hardest mission in the game IMO.
The mission imo is honestly only hard because of the one fucker who keeps throwing fire bombs at you.
>trying to keep all 3 on screen at the same time
>trying to keep decent range so i can actually do something
>manage to deflect and stagger melee guy
>go for the final blow
>get staggered by an arrow
>go for the final blow again
>get staggered by a bomb
>guy recovers his spirit
it's fucking infuriating how relentless they are
>Now do it on NG+
Not him but I did and it was awful, wouldn't recommend
nice panties sis
bro you have 2 pots left, you struggled too.
What caused modern games to have their objects in the form of an array of dots like this?
I had to stop playing games for a few years because I got busy and when I came back all modern games have this problem
I also noticed this in Elden Ring
What's up with that?
checkerboard rendering
Are invasions completely optional or is there a forced invasion area that ignored
>Allow Invasions: Off
option in the menu?
No, you can fight NPCs in Realm of Battle which is the dedicated pvp submission
SCREW YOU LU BU TWO IN PLAYTHROUGH TWO
He's not that hard.

compared to nioh its pretty wo short

it felt when I found two weapons that scale with wood, earth, and primarily water. just need to find good weapon arts now
wo long johnson
I had some good times ready to move on now
@630811931
that's an incredibly weak bait, not even worth a (You)
He responded to your bait, the least you could do is reply once.
I just beat the game and I really liked it.
Only major problem I have is the performance, and even that was not so bad. Only a few areas where it ran like shit. And it never crashed on me.
The Moral system I actually liked. I can see it being annoying on multiple playthroughs, or NG+
But it worked for a first playthrough as it encouraed you to explore and fight enemies, and it worked well with the level design in the game
The difficulty was mostly fair, and most of the bosses were good.
Didn't use damaging spells or companions, so I don't know how easy they make the game though.
Loot system was better than Nioh, but still kind of shit.
And I don't understand why people complain about the lenght. I beat it at 37 hours. Which is fine for a game like this. And with NG+ and PvP you would get enough out of it.
Overall I'd say it's a high 7 or low 8.
Not quite as good as Nioh, but still good.
Pretty much my opinion.
Though I fucking hated the Morale System. It was okay, just okay, in the first playthrough, but it was pure cancer on NG+. Absolute pure cancer. I can see this pissing my off insanely in NG++ and onward to the point I might even just fucking mod this shit out of my game.
I dislike the deflect system as it is punishing as fuck: either you take no damage (and even strongly punish the enemies in case of red attacks) or you eat a good pile of shit. In Sekiro, missing your deflect make you guard, and red attacks can't be deflected the usual way, so it's far less 'git gud or git raped'.
For information I finished the game without reinforcements; the three gangbang fight was by far the hardest part of the game for me (I used dual blades that don't stunlock for shit).
The level design is rather poor, and you can really see the infleunce from Nioh: the sinking ship level, the fire city level, the laputa level, the lush countryside level, etc.
Am I the only one that liked the level design in Wo Long?
it rewards explorations with flags, shortcuts, alternative path to your goal.
Meanwhile Nioh was mostly linear with shortcuts.
And Sekiro was just plain linear, with a few branching paths that lead to nothing of value. in adition, you had the grapling hook, which mean you just flew over overything instead of actually exploring anyway.
Sekiro had a better world, better design, better art design, better music, better lore. But I think Wo Long had better gameplay. But I think that's mostly due to the freedom from loot and RPG mechanics, as I'm a sucker for that stuff. Plus, I found Wo Long harder.
I liked the level design too. Maps feel more open and there were several maps where I was finding a vantage point to look around which isn't something you ever needed to do in Nioh. It could definitely be better but it's nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be. My only complaint is NG+ requiring you to find flags in the same locations, it's a bit shit and I hope they do something to shake it up for NG++ and beyond
it's horrible because you can clearly see the patterns and how extremely restrictive the levels built without utilizing any kind of platforming or barely taking advantage of jumping.
Basically all these levels could be as well in Nioh 1, level design did not take a step forward, did not progress.
For me, the levels were way too easy to "solve". It's extremely easy to get the edge on most mobs by climbing up the nearest building and backstabbing. And there are way too few surprises to stop you in your tracks and force you to reconsider your approach. I think the Souls games consistently get this right even though it's also the source of a lot of people's frustration with them.
I liked the fact that the levels were more vertical and you could often end most fights in seconds by simply using the environment.
That being said, I feel like there could have been more of that. Maps are too linear despite that and feel too similar to Nioh.
They have this vertical system, yet don't do enough with it where map design is concerned. You can get the drop on some mobs, but I feel like it could be more expansive and open. But I guess that's also the problem with basing your game around a Historical event. You can't go too crazy with it. In this regard, Sekiro is much better.
yea the levels were really good in wo long. as they were in nioh as well.
both games look and sound beautiful.
Koei tecmo does not get enough recognition for great lengths they go for the details. such as in wo long having chinese dubs be an ancient chinese dialect. Their character models are also some if not the best in the industry, honestly.
OH! So that's why the chinese voices sounder better than most game.
I haven't played sekiro in a while but I've finished Nioh 1 and Im on the level right after Lu Bu for Wo Long. I do agree with you, the actual level design in the Wo Long maps itself (aswell as Nioh) is really good, the levels themselves are well designed. They have to be I because it's classic level by level gameplay and none of the levels are connected, they all have loops and exploration feels really intuitive to the point it kinda holds your hand in Wo Long.
It's just not as open world as Sekiro and ofcourse sekiro has the grapple and and actual platforming from what I remember, it was also more engaging just because of the lore aspect (climbing to the top of that castle to genshiro then going back there to fight owl is cool) everything is seamless.
The maps, when they are actually are actually sprawling, like the dong zhuo map, the sun jian map (although it is just a reskin of the nioh 2 naval battle map), the eunuch mansion etc.were pretty good imo. Stealth attacks actually come in handy against those big brute enemies when fighting them normally could prove troublesome, especially since the game later on likes to hide 1 or 2 fodder enemies lying in ambush around them.
The level design is significantly better than Nioh, but still much worse than Fromsoft games.
The levels in wo long are much better than Nioh is just about every way but especially scale
An action game shouldn't need to "encourage" people to engage with the core systems. Why do so many people use this retardation as justification for the shitty flags/morale?
You say that yet many shitters in Nioh will rationalize not doing something as basic as stance swapping "because I can beat the game in high stance". I haven't played Wo Long outside of the demo so perhaps Morale was executed poorly, but heaven forbid that an action game encourages players to engage in combat for the sake of it and you get an easier boss fight for it, if you are really good at the game you can skip get a harder boss. I don't see the problem with it other than not being able to use some spells, but in my opinion shit like spells is like using holy water in DMC, makes the game easy and so therefore should not be as rewarding as using attacks.
That's a lot of words for a game you haven't actually played gay.
Way to miss the point retard, saying a game needs to encourage people to use a mechanic is a bad thing is completely retarded because there are plenty of people, especially zoomers will ignore mechanics by choosing the path of least resistance even if it actually makes it harder and less fun for themselves, stance swapping is a good example of encouraging engaging in mechanics and holy water is a good example of discouraging the easy way out. People that complain about morale sound like morons that hate combat in a combat focused games and would rather rush to the boss so that they can kill it with the most cheesiest way possible.
Explain why morale is otherwise a shit mechanic, because it doesn't sound like a problem for someone that actually like to kill shit in a level rather than rush to the end.
>morons that hate combat ...
To give defense, this game is part loot-focused, part of it is farming for gear where you want to kill bosses in the easiest and quickest way possible to get their gear and make builds. To me Morale isn't an inherently bad idea but just the UI of the game, lacks polish (or perhaps just made frustrating with the lack of boss farm missions for many bosses). When I want to fight Lu Bu, either his demon or otherwise, I don't want to have to deal with the mob chaff, there should've been an option to start the mission with all flags you found still counted as found (but maybe pit you in the beginning mission still but 16 morale is enough to ignore everything so you can just run) while still having an option to reset flag progression for. I do like the idea of it as a way to restrict magic in the early parts of the mission giving low morale spells a purpose.
>cheese (only if you have dual halberds with Scattered Leaves, warning this will take time)
Use the aforementioned Martial Art in the gate before him, you can lock on to him without him firing and he the attacks will land. It's the only martial art I think with this range, can make it faster by having an elemental weapon. I did this shit NG, because he can fuck off interrupting my exploration and crossbow farming.
What's wrong, couldn't burst down Sun Ce and instead have to play ring around the rosie?
>IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR NG+
Monkey and Stone Sentinels are no longer the best farming in the entire game for Grace armors. In the main mission where you fight Sun Jian (5th region), on the 5th main flag (pic related), there's a chest nearby that has a GUARANTEED 4* armor piece, can be any armor it seems and grace is not guaranteed but it seems the best so far. If curious about the souls, I am at level cap and 4.5 million of that was with the fucking stone sentinels, unironically must've spent 10 hours in that hell hallway.
>10 hours of terracotta
at that point couldnt you cheat the gear or give yourself 10000000 luck?
console friends can't do that
>Addendum
The area also has a panda so it's a good spot for 5* accessories too after getting an acceptable 4* armor piece.
>How to farm
You open the chest (or drop 10 garden gnomeel fragments near the panda, crafting resource))
Look at the item;
>You like
Go back to flag and do the other, finish the mission, return to hidden village, whatever.
>You don't like
Quit out to title and re-load, the contents of the chest (and the drop of the panda) are randomized until opened and refresh when reloading the map. Most of your time in the farm once you get to this point (it is far in the mission) is loading screens.
>Chugs copium
Hey now, there's the possibility that
>1
No new sets mesh with my gameplay style (aggressive and agile, fire/metal + a agility from the get go) so I'm stuck with a 23% dmg boost.
>2
They'll be so stringent on set bonuses that while easier to obtain, come with less benefits.
>3
The NG++ scaling in the beginning is so harsh that this is invaluable somehow.
I just thought of it, if you can roll that to new equipment, you might not even need to farm for +9 materials if you have one in your inventory (or just nabbed on from the farming mentioned above, because this 4* is also guaranteed to be +9 on NG+).
Inheritance is specific to certain pieces. It can't be rolled on anything else.
No
Yes. It's only on preorder shit (and droppable 1* versions of preorder shit)
WHEN THE FUCK IS THE GREATSWORD FUCKING COMING?!?!?!?!
I FUCKING HATE THE CURRENT WEAPONS. WELL, EXCEPT AXE. EVERYTHING ELSE IS GAY AND FOR FAGS.
The deflect it's the only fun thing (sometimes) but the rest is really meh.
I like the flow of combat but if TN just allpwed us to chain more attacks than just martial arts the combat would be a genuine 10/10. Repeating the same normals gets really repetitive.
>deflect is fun
it's too good, way too good.
The only way to actually make it hard is to not allow you to attack back (like with centaur gay boss).
Deflect feels completely out of place in the game same with jumps.
They needed like 2 more years before they can actually release a good game.
I'm glad I pirated.
I disagree.
Do you think Rise of the Ronin is going to be closer to Witcher or Elden Ring? As in, a character driven story with minor RPG elements or an open world RPG complete with character creation and loot.
The former obviously. It's already clear it's is a single player game with named character
How so? For Nioh 2 and Wo Long, they used the same generic character for promotional shots.
It's available on gamepass.
this game looks pretty cool when played well
I wasn't able to play that aggressive against Lu Bu because my weapon wasn't fast enough. This guy had a lot more opportunities to get quick attacks and martial arts in after a parry then I did, which is making me think I should just switch to faster weapons. Lu Bu 1 was a fun fight though, really enjoyed parrying his long combo strings, only annoying part about him was when he would do the red charge attack when you are really close to him, need a little bit of distance to properly time that parry.
>only annoying part about him was when he would do the red charge attack when you are really close to him,
why does every enemy in every game do this
out-fucking-skilled
She did this about a dozen times in that mission for me.
I thought it was okay but I'm waiting to see what they fix/change with patches because there's a lot I'd like them to.
I went back to Nioh2 to finish my PC underworld run since I have a lot left to do
Why the fuck does my Spear have more Spirit DMG than my Greataxe and the same damage?
Some weapons like spears and staves do more spirit damage than some weapons but afaik greataxe deals more hp damage than what the stats say.
So what does Wo Long does different than NIOH1 & 2 does?
It was made by chinamen, so it's an inferior knockoff by default. China only has one myth(besides Chinese excellence) to draw from for entertainement because Winny the Pooh stamped out the rest while turning the entire nation into GTA NPCs.
It was made by the same people who made Nioh, anon.
albeit it wasnt
Wut? Winnie if anything dug it out of it's grave, to hear it's skin sure but still.
Do you even know Mao exists?
?????
This game wasn't made by the Chinese???
Team Ninja is spiritually Chinese since all they do is make bootlegs of From games
I prefer Nioh to everything FROM has made except Bloodborne.
>I have shit taste
Ok
Nioh is better than most FROM stuff.
It's a cheap bootleg Souls game with extremely amateurish enemy and level design
"Dodge dodge dodge dodge burst counter attack attack attack attack..." is considered the peak of the franchise.
You are free to have shit taste and like bad games, but no, Nioh isn't better than From games
>Dodge dodge dodge dodge burst counter attack attack attack attack..
That's one more button than From Games.
>Dodge, Dodge, Dodge, r1,r1,r1, DODGE DODGE DODGE
Therefore it's better.
Hahahahaha
based
i prefer souls games but i hate these obnoxious souls fanboys like nothing else.
Elden Ring has infinitely more options than Wo Long and more options and combat variety than Nioh.
The enemy design is more varied, refined and complex than both
The level design is a world apart. All the bosses in Elden Ring has their own feats and rythm while still allowing lots of variety. Nioh fights are entirely designed by burst counter and ki breaking and Wo Long fights by how many critical attacks the boss does.
>I don't know what I'm talking about the post
Yet again, a worthless memepost with no argument.
I'm sure you know what you are talking about
Mate, you literally use regurgitated internet opinions like
>level design, enemy variety
and explain none of it. You also think wo long is waiting for critical blows. You clearly do not know what you're talking about.
It makes sense Anon, one game is Elden Ring, the other game is not. Why do you keep wanting games to be what they aren't? If you want to play Dark Souls, you play Dark Souls. If you want to play Bloodborne you play Bloodborne. If you want to play Nioh you play Nioh. It makes no sense to get mad at a game for not being something else, that's just silly.
>Why do you keep wanting games to be what they aren't?
I don't want any of that. I explained why Team Ninja games aren't better than From games
Infinitely more options
>when dark souls 3 was literally called roll souls
HAHAHAHAHA
Dark Souls 3 is less 1 dimensional than Wo Long
holy artifical difficulty. Once you learn how FromSoft bosses are designed you just optimize your actions which isn't particularly fun or exciting
>Okay if he does this attack and I dodge left instead of right I get a bigger punish or he has less attack options for me to guess between
woah so fancy so exciting.
>I can't spam dash to win so it's artificial difficulty
>Nioh fextralife
Meanwhile, I can just guard counter the entirety of Elden Ring, and no enemy feels different because of the forced stun state provided by it
I can't believe that moron used the Nioh 2 fextralife even though it is BROKEN. You're better off playing thw game blind.
https://nioh2.wiki.fextralife.com/A+Distant+Dream
But Anon, it isn't a souls game, its Nioh. Different franchises. Its not a From game either, its a Team Ninja game. Different developers. You can like different things for different reasons, and dislike things for different reasons too. &=^]
I dislike Nioh because of its samey and weak boss and level design. I told you already. Over half the issue people are having with Wo Long are carried over from Nioh
Oh, it's this fag again. The fag who thinks there's depth to fucking Crucible Knight.
>First three seconds of the webm: The player isn't using the roll to iframe through the attack. Instead, he's using it to position himself infront of the boss since the Feral burst counter does not work from the sides.
>10 seconds: Interupts the boss' charge with a skill, and breaks his tusk.
>16 seconds: uses a skill to jump over the boss' spinning attack. More reliable than trying to roll through attacks in Nioh and is a good showcase of the spear's utility.
None of what that guy did is button mashing.
the schizo is in the Margit bait thread don't provoke him
in fact keep making ER bait threads to keep him busy
Nioh isn't really a bootleg. Aside from the stamina bar, it doesn't play like a Souls game and playing it like one is the least optimal way of playing Nioh. Wo Long is admittedly an attempt to make a Souls gams. Rise of Ronin is not a Souls game. Also, FromSoftware and TN have been "copying" each other for years.
Quite a lot actually, whether the changes are good is another question.
In terms of level design, maps are slightly more open with more pathways but is still fairly linear, map design is to push more opportunities to backstab enemies or otherwise get the drop on them.
In terms of combat, they added a deflect button similar to Sekiro, but the main focus is the spirit gauge which is a combined mana/stamina gauge. Basic actions don't drain it, but guarding, deflecting and special attack drains it. Successful deflects and normal attacks build up the spirit gauge so the idea is to deflect and attack to build up spirit for your big attacks which makes it more back and forth compared to Nioh.
Unfortunately some things got removed such as stances and loosely speaking, the balance between actions isn't the best so combat doesn't seem as skillful as Nioh.
That leg placement looks fucked up
I can't believe that I'm saying this but I vastly prefer the female chinese combat sounds to the japanese ones. Especially voice 1. It sounds a lot more punchier and flows well with the wuxia movesets in the game, especially the YAAAAAAHHH your character shouts during deflects. I wish there was a way to use those voices while using the JP voices for everything else.
What’s wrong? Too difficult?
too easy because of deflect.
Taotie is the worst gimmick TN has made, with daidarabochi from nioh 2 coming second.
For fuck's sake stop trying to make us climb up bosses while having these shitty platforming controls.
it was fun
I don't really mind gimmick bosses since they're a break from the usual slugfests but my issue with Taotie is just how badly implemented it is. You deplete his health bar with the second attack, he falls over, then he stands up again, then he falls over again. The healthbar lingers for long enough to make you think it's fucking bugged, then he awkwardly transitions into the second phase. It's just so rough
nah it would be an average boss in Ninja Gaiden
Can't say I enjoyed such bosses in DMC either. Gilgamesh in 5 was awful. Bayo only somewhat does them better because the game is built around QTEs/interactive cutscenes and you don't have to awkward jump up the boss.
Nah, finished wo long and nioh recently and the giant skeleton boss near the end of nioh is absolute trash and far worse. The biggest difference being the devs had the foresight to pull the camera on back on your character for Taotie unlike Gasha-dokuro where you can't tell what the fuck is going on. The Taotie design is pretty cool too I think
wo long gay bowser
It's fine. Better than Sekiro.
lol
lmao
Wo Long's combat is far more versatile and engaging.
Sekiro is just mindless L1 spam for 95% of the gameplay.
>Wo Long's combat is far more versatile and engaging.
>square square square circle triangle
wow so versatile and engaging
200% more versatile and engaging
Wo Long Johnson
Those reviews are both thumbs down
>be team ninja
>name game not nioh 3 because you aren't making nioh 3
>even release a demo so everyone can play and know its not nioh 3
>BRUH WTF THIS AINT NIOH 3?
>It's supposed to be shit because it doesn't have Nioh in the title
Its not a bad game but I'm still playing the demo.
I just beat Zhang and then his second form wiped the floor with me, now I'm disappointed that I have to fight the first form again.
Would you say it's worth 20 bucks?
Maybe, if the performance is fixed (that's a big if, SoP still sucks)
Now more than that because half the weapons suck, the PVP is nonsense and half the bosses are a pushover + the garbage morale system
worked on my machine
I had fun
It's free why would you pay
$20 where
You're not supposed to press a button in this game because Lo and behold enemy goes into unblockable armor shit and swings through your attacks and you die
Absolute garbage design. They couldn't even get weapon skills/ashes of war right
Nioh had the same exact issue of either non-existant or retardedly stupid toughness values for weapon skills making 90% of skills and many stances worthless garbage and you fags didn't complain back then. The redpill is that Team Ninja is incompetent and they should make 15 hours long character action games instead of trying to imitate From
I CAN'T GET RANGED WEAPON WITH SET BONUS MITIGATION AREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I got it for 60 tho
So was this a commercial flop or success? Seemed like a bit of a throw away whilst they were working on that new samurai game.
>uninspired
Let me guess, the crux of your argument is "IT'S LE SEKIRO SOULSBORNE RIPOFF!"
get a brain
In what world is the three kingdoms era not done to death
I mean its only the setting for every piece of chinese media in existence
It's a Koei-Tecmo game. RoTK is kind of they're thing.
There's also Journey to the West aka Wukong stuff, and wuxia stories but they're not popular in the west
If Dark Souls 3 did it, anyone can rightfully do it.
Dark Souls 3 >>>>> Wo Schlong
Dark Souls 3 is God tier compared to this game
>Player with long spear spastically wiggles it
>Still can't interrupt mook with sword
>Mook with sword staggers player
Never played sekiro, it has a reputation for being hard or something, however I breezed through Wo Long with barely any trouble, 1 shot or 2 shotting most of the bosses, including half way into NG currently and people are saying it's harder than Sekiro... Can any one who played both games weigh in here?
Sekiro is a rhythm game. Wo Long lets you play an action game.
I don't understand, I have no rhythm due to being white so I guess Sekiro will be super hard for me
yeah I found it quite hard for that reason
Wo long is way easier than Sekiro unironically, it's even easier than most souls games simply because
>deflecting one enemy gives you a short iframe during the animation, so it's actually managable in a group
>dodge rolling is always availble and provides plenty of iframes so panic spamming it is never punished
>blocking is suprisingly safe and viable, since you regain your spirit you can theoretically loop block and counter attack infinitely, while most souls forces you to back off to recover stamina
Yeah I'm thinking this makes the most sense, I felt extremely powerful in Wo Long and doubted every boss's capability to kill me, meanwhile I was always feeling cautious in souls games
Nah that's just a skill issue.webm unironically. People should focus more on actually learning games instead of complaining that something doesn't work quite like they expected it to.
>Nah that's just a skill issue.webm
No it's not, it's a garbage game issue.
Team Ninja shouldn't try to imitate Fromsoftware because they don't understand their games.
Souls weapon types are worthless without a proper series of combat systems and stats to differentiate and support them
If you replace combo with single instance weapon skills you need properly established timings and various related stats that regulate how the combat flows and build a balance between various skills and attacks, so that all interactions are unfair and you won't get staggered inbetween your animation by an attack double as fast as yours
The reason Souls games use triggers for attacks is being able to fight with the camera unlocked, which sucks in all Team Ninja games including this.
skill issue the post, yet again
Nioh had exactly this but worse with human enemies spamming living weapons so suddenly you had to play a boring dodge and attack minigame
Team Ninja combat is overrated as fuck
What, you just want to mindlessly juggle an enemy to death with no pushback or something?
>Retard can't understand how ARPGs work
>UMM I WON'T EXPLAIN BUT PRETEND IM BETTER THAN YOU ANYWAYS
wow you sure showed me
>Have huge axe
>Throw it at a dude
>Dude won't even flinch because of anime power
>Have to play with the axe as if it was dual sword because of bullshit superarmor
>Every boss is the exact same
>Every fight is boring as fuck
>Can't even charge an attack against a mob bevause even those have extreme hyperarmor on demand
>This is not just fine, but a good combat system according to the rotbrained niohfag
But muh combo!
skill issue
Why Team Ninja is too incompetent to make a low poise boss?
You realize that Friede only works because you have limited stamina right? Nioh gives you infinite ki and same with Wo Long. You just hate the fact that you're not super limited like a slowpoke.
No, friede only works because she gains hyper armor after the 2nd hit, so you cant stagger her forever. In fact she works just like das3 pvp where after the most r1s "combo" into a follow up and afterwards.you can roll out of anything.
>The reason Souls games use triggers for attacks is being able to fight with the camera unlocked, which sucks in all Team Ninja games including this.
I play Nioh with the attacks on the shoulder buttons. The only downside is that block is on square, so you can't hold block while you press the dodge button. But you can fight unlocked.
That sounds painful...
I'm going to guess you don't use ki flux?
Not him, and I can guarantee you're wasting your time acknowledging his existence, but while fighting unlocked is plenty doable even with the default controls, you don't need to do that whatsoever when fighting multiple enemies and it's not a necessity because lock on can be switched easily at any time during animations and dealing with groups is a simple matter of actually learning how to use it properly, which few people ever do. The system is worse in Wo Long but still works well enough in the same manner.
I had dodge on X so I never struggled to dodge while holding block. Don't remember which layout it was.
Holy shit all this is wrong. Sekiro is the easiest game.
Sekiro was focused entirely on reaction and the following counters with different options and enemies with different timings
Wo Long tried to be more focused on offense but does it poorly as this
shows so it's a worse Sekiro
played this shit on gamepass for like a dollar and it's so incredibly forgettable and generic.
>generic
there literally is not a single other studio making games like KTs. whether you like their games or not thats one thing. but generic here is only your brainlet brown turd world poorfag take.
What pieces of equipment come with the flag detection skill?
Accessories iirc, and only when I finally found one in the wild I was able to embed the effect on helmets and ranged weapons freely at the blacksmith
helmets, cao cao's set bonus and cao cao himself as a reinforcement
helmet, accessories, and ranged weapons. I have enemy detection + flag detection on my bow it's awesome.
Didnt play it only watched some videos but theres something about the movement that feels really off
you only play gamepass shit and never played nioh 1 or 2
what countries are you morons that keep saying $70 from? it's $60 on steam.
it's so fucking hilarious when even on 25 morale boss can kill you in 1-2 hits on ng+, i'm too stupid for delayed attack and i suffer so much. I can shred any mob in seconds with lingbao grace, but goddamn these fucking bosses with delayed attacks
PvP in Wo Long is amazing once you know how it works.
It's filled with cheaters on PC. So no it's not.
maybe 1 in 10 people I invade cheats
I l fully completed the demo do you guys think it’s worth a buy? I’m on PlayStation so I have to pay full price which is gay.
nah just wait for the complete edition if you can't pirate it.
How much did you like it? If you really liked it then get it, if you liked it but not a whole lot then wait and pick it up on sale. The game is getting 3 DLC expansions over the course of the year and with team ninja games that usually means new weapons, new abilities, and sometimes new mechanics so there will be plenty of discussion around those DLC launches
I dont know anon why dont you tell me?
My only complaint apart from performance is some of the timing on boss attacks feels really inconsistent
game speed is tied to framerate, dropped frames will alter the cadence of literally anyting in the game so choose a framerate setting that you can never dip below.
KT only works if there's someone watching them like a hawk, that's why there's a level of polish in Hyrule Warriors not present in the other Warriors games.
Or the Nioh duology vs the other 2 tries.
Pray for Rise of Ronin.
That's getting published by Sony so polish is guaranteed
if it's a sony exclusive its gonna be god tier, bloodborne anyone????
lmao shut the fuck up tendie. HW is one of the worst musous.
I just beat Lu Bu round 2, how much of the game is left? I like it but it feels like it's starting to drag
like 3 main stages
FrommieSlurpers coping hard with their quant little R1 and roll games. Enjoying running around Barren Ring for 4 hours before you're allowed to go fight bosses.
>Morale system is the devs holding your hand to victory
>Most levels have companions
>Parry beats everything, there is nothing you can't counter with a parry
>Ancient chinese feng shui system means the right element will push bosses' shit in
Is this game suppose to be hard?
Anyone have a diagram of what element counters what?
fire > poison > lightning > earth > water > fire
>Lightning is wood
Any Chinanon care to explain this shit?
dont fucking bother, metal counters wood because axes can cut trees lol
Fuck
if you like this game you're either
1.) Gay
2.) Stupid
3.) Trans
4.) Retarded
5.) Stupid
if you like videogame you're either*
sorry just had to make that small correction for you friend
>either
>5 choices
good morning sir. thanks for doing needful.
Final Fantasy XIV is still the best MMORPG
I don't know why they keep making this absolute cancer of a loot system. No one fucking likes it. No one. Even if you ask those 12 shitbrains with comically bad taste in video games (aka. Nioh fans) out there about what they enjoy in this loot system, they won't be able to name a single thing and will always go "eh, I just deal with it, it's bad but not game breaking for me". Even they don't like it.
It's not fun picking up the same items over and over again, it's not fun having to periodically clean your inventory from the trash it gets filled with, or checking the dozens of "+2% damage while you're poisoned" type item effects for the very few that can be useful. So fucking why?
you can finish the game with the armor and weapon you start with. just upgrade them as you go. you dont need to ever look at a dropped item in wo long and nioh on first playthough.
what I dont understand is why is it so hard to grasp that loot in these games isnt just armor and weapons, the loot is mean to be sold for gold, broken down for crafting materials, traded at the tea house for weapons and emotes...
its actually a very good system. but you gays are too much of brainlets to every grasp it.
>it's good because you can laboriously check, sort, sell and disassemble things while dealing with the equivalent of an excel table, this is peak video game fun for me
niohtards should just be banned from ever having opinions
pathological shit taste
mental illness. hope you one day may find peace, anon.
it has to be the producer. nioh. nioh 2. sop, and now this, all under his ass, loot shoved in. least in niho you can get strong as fuck one shotting stuff, but lately you can't even do that so whats the fucking point of diablo system?
SoP had some crazy ass invincible builds
Wo Long doesn't but it's before DLC, with a spell that negates any attack we might end up there too
bring back the 9999% pebble damage set bonus you cowards
>wo long
Uhh. That's, like, what she said.
heh.. eh eh
I think your agility affects when you can "wakeup" from getting knocked down i.e. after a fatal blow. In PvP, I can get a guaranteed fireblast against someone after a fatal blow but then against others (who I think have a common theme of heavier armor) can get up and deflect it. It's weird. I remember fighting one guy who would use the high level spell that just drops a giant icicle on the player and he would do this after fatal blowing me and no matter what I did I couldn't avoid getting hit by it.
This game doesn't feel like it was made by Japanese devs, it looks and plays like a generic shovelware chink MMO-esque cashgrab game
No it doesn't.
How?
Because people buy it anyways and will talk about how they love it to be contrarians.
>playing
>suddenly attacks are going straight through blocks
>hear the block sound effect and see the "sparks" from the block, but take full damage
>deflect not working
>hear the deflect sound effect and see the animation, still take full damage
>restarting game does nothing
>happening on older levels now as well
guess i'm done playing the game then?
no matter where I search its always the same "make sure you're not over encumbered! XD" comments. i'm at A agility so its not that, only other thing i can find online is that its a "bug", comforting.
proofs
i'll see if i have a screen shot, had to shut it off before i got too frustrated. started happening in the first story mission of act 5, where you drain the canals. noticed it on the croc and chalked it up to being morale 13 while I was 0, but then it was happening with the morale 0 - 3 basic mermaids and soldiers as well.
i want to play the game, i am enjoying the game quite a bit. dual halberds and earth magic fucking slaps, i'm frustrated that issues popped up seemingly out of nowhere with no reason why that i can see.
Another troll trying to make Wo Long look bad, move along.
Doesn't have to. Game is just bad
filtered soulsbab
god damn it. started up the game again and am having zero issues with blocking and deflecting.
you act like Nioh 2 wasn't the same dogshit lel. their games will always be FROM-lite lootshits for autistic kids who can't into combat without a bunch of entirely pointless mechanics
>their games will always be FROM-lite lootshits for autistic kids who can't into combat without a bunch of entirely pointless mechanics
Ironic, Fromfags are autistic kids who can't into combat period, which is why they never play proper action games
They refuse to touch real action games and PvPturds wouldn't have the balls to play a fighting game while rattling off "cool tech" like quick swapping rings
Someone give me some good character codes to use i want to mix it up but i dont want to spend another hour in the creator
>That cavalry halberd you find in burning Luoyang with the flame enchant on it
Is it based? Seems so perchance.
Even if you don't like halberds you can salvage it for the flame enchant to put on something else. And it'll respawn in that spot every time you reset the level so its an easy way to stock up on the enchants.
element enchant are good for the ministun when you are clearing trah mobs, like the other anon said you can always socket the flame enchant into other weapons
Where??
The beginning of the level to the right there is a big area on fire with some roof tops sticking out. Run from roof to roof, its around the back on a roof tucked to the right.
What spells do I use? I get that the earth spikes are good for aoe up close but at range what do I do?
Or should I just stick with the chaos sword that launches a projectile? I just want to be able to do damage when the NPCs decide to sperg out halfway on the other side of the battlefireld without having to chase them down
thats what martial arts can help with, most weapons have a couple that are leaping or dash attacks that can help chase. bursting fireball is ok for pve but great for pvp, but its a higher morale spell, base version is ok and is a 0 morale spell. if you have some levels in water frozen malice is nice, good damage with an ok cast time. frozen trap absolutely fucks bosses that are weak to it and does good damage to others that aren't, can cast then back step a bit to drawn them in to it, usually works with the ai.
I use ice sword+the spear martial art where you spin your feeet
Look at the spell videos, try out the ones that look interesting to you and see how they feel. Keep in mind that spells are largely utility-focused and are worth it for that, but certain ones also have heavy damage and you can build to make most of them hit very hard as well, but inflicting ailments is very helpful otherwise. In general, Fire is mid range damage-focused spells, Wood is buffs and AoE coverage, Earth is melee-range and damage mitigation, Water is long-range and mobility focused, and Metal is based around debuffs and area denial. All have plenty to work with and can be used at once.
After initial big dissapointment and easy bosses I am suddenly getting filtered byt Lu Bu.
After him there's a couple more meh bosses then it gets hard again. For most weapons you just deflect then do one quick attack between his combos, there isn't enough time for full spirit attacks most of the time. Timing for his charge attacks is a bit earlier than you think, if you played nioh 2 it times like a feral counter, you have to deflect into it. When he gets lower health he can add a spin attack into his 3 hit combo. Deflect the first two hits as usual then block, if he does his third overhand swing deflect and attack. If he does his spin just block the five or six hits then weapon switch deflect the overhand swing to reset your spirit to neutral and attack. When he gets below 25% he does a second red attack you need to deflect to break his spirit, below 10% he can do a third. If you aren't aggressive enough with him he can jump back on his horse four or five times during the fight. He lights his weapon on fire if you get hit with the critical attack which will chip damage you. You can put it out with water magic.
No water, Earth,Fire, uhh what was electricity, wind? Yes, played both Niohs. I feel almost nothing playing this. Even story is somehow 10 times more shit than in Nioh2(where story was ok if not for retarded mute mc).
>Lu Bu
If you haven't gotten your morale up it's mandatory. I didn't know about this system and spent probably 2 hours fighting him. Couldn't get his health to even half. Went around and got all the flags. And beat him on my 2nd attempt. This is what the fight should just be by default without this morale shenanigans artificially interfering. It's an absolute garbage mechanic.
Just picked it up for 35$ is it worth it?
End game is lacking but there are 3 DLCs over the next year, typical team ninja adds an NG+ cycle to each DLC with new maps, enemies, gear, weapons, and sets each time.
So what's the EZ mode?
In Nioh 1 it was ninjutsu and LW
In Nioh 2 is was life drain tanking + life restore magic
I am getting filtered and am sad
On the base difficulty it's grinding your morale to 25. ng+ probably high earth block and turtle (wait for reds) is the most shitter proof.
Am I missing something or is there no button to compare items?
A $70 turd but $40 dlc to fix it. Eat up goys
>wear Dong armor
>you look like a tryhard manlet compare to the real Dong
Really starting to love this basic ass fireball, it catches people out so often
>Using martial arts in pvp
Lol
yeah haha who would ever be foolish enough to use them...haha....
Whats with team ninja and the "red attack" gimmck.
Did anyone liked that shit in ng3?
I've hit some players with that spell for 400+.
It's rare, but it's happened once or twice. I don't get defense in this game.
have you not noticed elemental resistances in your stats
Obviously, but it's weird as fuck that it goes from 100-150, maybe 200 if I'm really lucky to more than double that.
i think it gets a bit of extra oomph when you fill their posture bar up.
>dumps his own spirit to zero at the start of a fight
week2 pvp meta
spirit is irrelevant as long as you lion's roar
pain...
true, still not sure if that's a bug or not.
Are you using fetal strike damage gear?
It seems like thats the meta.
what armor are you wearing/transmogged to? i'm sure i can't tell that clearly because of the red invader glow, but it new to me
Anon...that's literally the starter gear but on a female...
If you have the lion's roar buff active you take no damage from a fatal blow or strike or whatever it's called. So it works against most people but it's completely countered by lion's roar, it might be a bug or for some reason intentional.
>Anon...that's literally the starter gear but on a female...
well that explains why i don't remember it after not seeing it since 2 weeks ago
I'm not using decoration, it's just the starting armour
>Are you using fetal strike damage gear?
>It seems like thats the meta.
OK let's go into the meta right now in this current disaster of a game:
The game is roughly 80-90% about sprinting around and doing off-beat unreactable running/dodging attacks vs guessed parries
Martial Arts are a death trap that you should never touch
A limited number of very strong spells are viable usually after you have a spirit lead from sprinting attacks or guessed parries
The useful weapons are Sword/Sabre and Hammer/Poleaxe because their sprinting attacks are legit unreactable
Spears/Glaives/Staff are less useful because you can react to all of their normal startups
Light armour with Hammer/Poleaxe spamming dodges is abusively strong because the dodge attack on Hammer is a version of the unreactable running attack that teleports forward 5 meters, so mashing free dodges away from people to play passively only to use random dodge attacks as an unreactable turn and burn has no reasonable counter if played passively enough
The useful builds are Fire and Metal
Fire has access to high damage nukes and has good defense against Toxin which is essential because
Metal has the most retarded offensive spell in the game with Venom Snare and everybody needs to carry a counter to Venom Snare
When Venom Snare hits it continues ticking toxin afterwards even if you dodge away and once it ticks to full you'll be staggered, this lets someone chase you down waiting for the icon to fill up knowing they get a free hit
You need to counter that with a fire spell, but casting a regular buff while someone chases you is asking to be hit, so you use Flamewave to push people off
Metal also has the lowest costs on spells and the fastest spirit recovery due to high sustainability
This means Metal builds get to use the key Earth buffs Enhanced Defense or Lion's Roar more often from neutral without putting themselves in the danger zone
You can react to venom snare and just dodge out of it, as you can see in webm related where I dodge out of venom snare but will deflect the normal poison projectile.
Obviously it's still nice to have some type of fire spell to dispel it if you do get hit but it's still counterable without it. that's not getting into just stacking poison resist on your armor too.
Venom snare is still retarded just because it's DoT is completely separate from the normal poison DoT but metal and earth lack good offensive options to keep pressure up, you'd have to use actual melee to pressure and well...you can just run away. It requires a more patient zoner type playstyle which is kind of counter-intuitive to all of earths spells which are tanky and up close. The fact that fire has such a good range of damaging spells kind of makes the poison playstyle garbage imo. More people should look into ice since it's projectile negates all of fires and the ice drop is a really strong nuke.
forgot webm
wow full fire build beating metal???? no way???
That's not why I won the fight. I even got poisoned pretty hard but the tick damage on it did so little despite me being in light armor with nothing that specifically makes me more resistant to poison.
You're playing rock and bragging about beating scissors
I was literally poisoned and didn't have a way to dispel the poison. I dodged out of every venom snare and deflected half of his other poison projectiles. Me having firespells only played into the fact I did so much damage to him from spells alone. None of the trades I won with fireballs actually let to me dealing damage. He just got his shit rocked because he tried to run away like a pussy and throw poison all day thinking he'd win because le venom snare OP!!!!!
Nothing stopping you from putting poison resistance on your armor 🙂
Stacking poison resist on all of your armor gives you roughly equal to 20 levels in the "counter" virtue
I have a feeling you have slightly more than 20 fire virtue. You're right, you got poisoned, if you weren't a fire build you're dead right there.
But since water is worthless in PvP fire is indeed the way the go, there's no paper to your rock.
>But since water is worthless in PvP
It's not. It doesn't have as good offensive spells as fire but it can play a decent keepaway game
>Frost lance (basic fast projectile) tracks and is fairly cheap to cast
>Obscuring frost or phantom icicle stops your opponent from being able to lock on
>Aqua blink is a good dash/reposition tool
>Malignant Icefall is a nuke that's guaranteed after a fatal blow
People are just pushing it off because it doesn't have anything that appears "OP" like all of the other virtues.
>People are just pushing it off because it doesn't have anything that appears "OP"
A tale as old as time. Remember that people said exactly the same thing (and still do) about both Metal and Wizardry in its entirety.
the damage is so little because YOUR FUCKING FIRE VIRTUE GIVES YOU INFINITE POISON RES
Fire does not 'beat' Metal in Wo Long because the game is about random parries and random running attacks, not about build RPS.
>You can react to venom snare and just dodge out of it
Absolutely, that's why I said the game is 90% running attacks, spells are used as a higher risk high reward option when you have a spirit lead. The trick to landing venom snare is to use enhanced defense for hyperarmour and then you trade snare into a normal attack as someone runs into you.
>metal and earth lack good offensive options to keep pressure up
There is only one option in the game which helps you keep pressure up and it's having 4 points in water for alacrity.
I might be remembering wrong and I haven't tested it out yet but Power Gain is a Fire buff isn't it? Because you can get that to trigger on, among other things, deflecting which would mean deflecting Venom Snare would immediately cure it via the buff.
I don't know if the Power Gain buff works to cure toxin but Power Gain is on Deflect Critical, not just on Deflect. That only applies to MAs, to give you more reasons never to use an MA. As long as you have enough resist to not instantly build up toxin on one Venom Snare you can clear the clouds around you just by hitting blasting flare or flamewave.
oooh, yea I don't have that, go try it out
All buffs have elements and can clear the debuffs of elements they're weak to. I have Haste on Martial Arts and Deflect so if I'm on fire or will be put on fire then doing either of those will put it out. You can get buffs on a bunch of actions, I just don't remember if Power Gain is Fire but I'm pretty sure it would be. You can also get all of these buffs on Wizardry hit and HP recovery.
He's specifically talking about a fire spell that gives you a power gain buff. There's too of them. One buffs damage but makes you take more damage and the other says it "buffs your next MA or spell" but some people say it's just a flat +50% MA/Spell buff until the buff runs out.
But any spell buff will clear debuffs of the element it counters.
You can get haste upon deflection on the free DLC baihu set.
So fucking cringe you watch you retards post about PVP. No one cares about PVP in these games you nerd ass bitch.
>the FROM schizo is back again
Saved this picture from last night. Dude infects every single fucking Action game thread apparently.
Look at this dood
>I had to keep informing people in Wo Long threads about this exact thing.
Damn I hope FROM pays him to do this all day
It's so utterly insane, that it makes me think it's bait, but with how fucking persistent this guy is, I kinda think it's real. True autism is scary
>It's so utterly insane, that it makes me think it's bait, but with how fucking persistent this guy is, I kinda think it's real.
It is, this board literally rotates out these autists in action game threads that think they're going to objectively prove that x game is better than your favorite game. One day he'll realize how much time he wasted and move on just like they all do.
I miss vindictus so fucking much. I wish they would just make vindictus 2.0 and stop updating their half-life source engine game.
You are 100% a schizo capping your own posts because nobody gives one single fuck, go back to whatever general you came from
>i'll try deflecting, that's a good tri-ACK
Get that Earth Deflect Self Buff.
You can apply Earth instantly with that if you stack Earth Power. Pretty funny.
is the earth debuff even good
No
Has there been a better farm for graces than the sentinels in region 6? Understand that rng is hell in this game but it's getting demoralizing, I'm only missing gloves (for Shennong and/or Lingbao) and I must have more elixirs than Cao Cao.
Why are spells tied to morale rank, i can't use most of my shit for a good chunk of missions.
Probably a balancing act so that low morale rank spells can have some purpose and to restrict your resources while still allowing them to use Spirit and have infinite uses. if there's anything I do hate is how your flags aren't saved when redoing missions (or it isn't an option, like you could reset flags if you want increased drop rates or something). I also heard that morale rank can influence drop rates but I have no clue onto what effect it does, someone else would have to clarify that.
If I head to another battlefield does it wipe out my progress on the other one? I unlocked a sub battlefield but not sure if I can do it
Main missions you haven't beaten yet saves your last flag. When you reenter they won't.
They say it wont do harm, and I agree for NG. But Im on part 5 of NG+, and if I leave mid mission it will reset my progress on that level, dont know why
I'll buy almost anything Capcom or team ninja put out. Combat is the most important thing in gaming.
my only real changes would be deflect not on the same button as dodge and less delay attacks
Nioh 2 = NGB = Sekiro > Bloodborne = NG2 > Nioh 1 = NG3:RE > SoP = Wo Long > Elden Ring > Dark Souls 1/2/3
49 hours, level 129, part 5 on NG+, might as well finish one more missiom to reach 130 and call it a day, maybe DLC will make me comeback
Man poison with damage% + damage + is so fucking insane. I just throw that shit everywhere and they die so quickly
I haven't played much of the game, but can you go full chinese wizard by the end of the game or are the spells too weak?
You can do it pretty early on, the spells are decently strong from the beginning and can very quickly become much stronger. There's just no reason not to use your weapon as well for more stuff to do and they facilitate spell casting significantly as basically your main fuel for doing them, plus there's some weapons with Chinese Wizard Martial Arts too.
Depends on the virtue you go with. elemental damage is the biggest buff to damage but if you're using multiple spells from different virtue (stats) then they'll be weaker overall.
not exactly, spells use a ton of spirit even with 99 metal, so you still need to use melee or waste a bunch of time trying to kite for your spirit to go down enough to cast another spell. Hopefully this is something addressed with the increased level cap as there's frankly not a lot of build variety here and I don't see it lasting 4 playthroughs the way it is now.
I had no idea some items had secret powerups. I have this hairpin that outlines enemies in this reddish veiny look so I know they're hiding
Neat
Can you post it? It sounds like Enemy Detection but I first thought that only referred to the minimap, but since enemies often show up there even without it I've been curious if there's more to it.
No, I'm talking about effects like
which give you buffs (or inflict debuffs) based on different actions you take. All those buffs also run off the elemental system and are mostly weaker versions of the spells, so you don't have to carry around or cast the actual Wizardry spell variants of the buffs if you want them exclusively to clear debuffs. The efficacy of the buff (possibly the debuff too) is loosely based on how easy it is to activate it, so HP recovery ones are among the weakest as they can easily be almost always on, but the deflect based ones are stronger.
i'll go test this right now then to see if you're actually right or not
Is there ANY reason to keep 2 or 3 star stuff if I have 4 star shit now?
no. Salvage it and sell the garden gnomeels.
If it's a 3* weapon maybe if you really like the specific Martial Arts on it and don't have an identical one but otherwise no, the same thing at higher rarity is always better.
As far as PvE goes (maybe technically PvP too), being able to exploit weaknesses of enemies, or more importantly avoid resistances seems like it would dramatically outweigh any potential loss of damage. Not that even Rising Dragon difficulty requires anything in the way of gear damage minmaxing anyway, but resistances can severely lower damage to single digits.
I'm just deflecting and using that earth stone slab spell instead of actually attacking
It's carrying me so far
Can we please get rid of pointless boss run backs that don't even put enemies in front of you? What a fucking mindless Souls copy.
You're so dumb it hurts.
How can a game that looks like this run so poorly?
do i need to keep a copy of an item to use it for decoration or do I just need to have owned it before?
You only need to have owned it before.
Is there a way to change the scaling of a weapon to the element? I don't have a good metal scaling one
Help.
no
no, the metal companions should have a few. Feed them some cups and steal theirs
there is not, but leveling up a weapon increases its initial scaling, if you find one with a C rank it should eventually turn into an A.
wow I feel fucking dumb I was afraid of "wasting" rank 9 steel
>not spending it all on Zuo Ci's shitty gear gacha that never gives you what you want
Who is stronger
Wo Long Johnson the protag from Wo Long or Hiddy from Nioh 2
Hiddy can do everything Wo Long can and actually cancel HER attacks
Except jumping. Hiddy can't jump without the aid of a spear or something.
Ironically the best method of jumping comes from martial arts since the normal jump is so useless in combat unless there are platforms around you.
>Wong can abuse spells more easily, and has Perfect Resolve
>Hiddy has stronger spells, Ninjitsu, and can have more of it all on-hand versus the 4 slots Wong gets
>Hiddy has more advanced combat options with any given weapon + yokai abilities
>Wong acts with infinite Ki at all times(*), very spammable counters, dodges, and possibly ranged attacks (Earth Shaper on sword and Scattered Leaves on Dual Halberds)
>Hiddy's burst counters act as cheap, ki-less options that can sustain ki-regen but aren't infinite
>Wong can actually fucking jump, somewhat
>Both drown with ease
>Hiddy's equipment are much stronger than Wong (when comparing to max power at present)
>Wong has repeating Crossbows versus Hiddy's gunpowder, former can fire faster while the latter reloads longer
>Guardian Spirit > Spirit Beast (Yokai Shift > Spirit Beast infusion)
>Hiddy has a bigger backpack
I think Hiddy wins by the default of having Low stance on a mechanical level, I feel that forces Wong to exclusively use quick weapons because if he tries for range, Hiddy has speed at her side. Perhaps going for a very zoner-centric playstyle could nab him some wins. As for feats?
>Both handled the best warriors of their time, Wong has training against horsemen though with Lu Bu but Hiddy had Minamoto no Yorimitsu (soul core spell sword) and Ashiya Doman (pure mage)
>Both have handled some of the most powerful demons/yokai of their time, though Hiddy's encompass a greater variety (and I'd argue greater lethality)
>Wong has training against horsemen though
Counterpoint: Mezuki.
pirated it. installed it. little circle in the bottom right kept spinning (loading shaders?) but I got bored after like ten minutes and uninstalled. that's my story and I'm sticking to it
Elden Ring is better. Deeper combat and level design is way better.
Huh, you guys were right. Buffs are still tied to elements even if they don't come directly from a spell. Kind of neat but also makes some elements worse than others when you can just tied these buffs to something like "upon deflect" or "upon wizard spell"
yeah and there are two versions of power gain, one from fire one from wood
Well, as said the efficacy of the buffs is much weaker than their casted version and also correlates to how it's done too. I didn't go too hard into testing which are better than others once I realized the system exists, but I don't think I need to because of how buff refreshing works. It seems that reapplying a buff will only refresh the timer and overwrite it if it's the same strength or stronger, but trying to apply one that's weaker does nothing.
But anyway, the real fun should come when considering that you can inflict debuffs with those effects as well, and a lot of the debuffs are Metal element, which beats Wood the designated buff element. And then the cycle continues all over again.
idk it's just kind of cucked. I remember going for an earth buff build and wood and spend literally all of my spirit to activate 2 and then wood would just throw down some circle on the ground and completely cleanse my buffs....
The lesson there is to not overcommit and not pull everything out too early if it works against you. Also if they have to put down an AoE to clear your buffs that both costs them Spirit and leaves them open, or you can block their spells first using Metal poison pools. Counterplay is a pretty big deal.
I noticed that Hong Jin's staff sometimes buffs your weapon with fire if you use the fire ball martial art but I cant seem to trigger it every time. Does it have a morale requirement?
most MAs are cucked if you dont cast them during blue morale
Read the MA description.
>slap a 70$ tag on it?
*looks at my $1 gamepass sub* nani!?
the fact that they released it with 70dollerino price tag, but also day one on gamepass was a clear red flag.
>Strongest PvE build is putting lightning and poison on a boss and watching them insta stun over and over for fatal blows
fun game guys.
You could always just not do that. Nioh had plenty of stupid OP strategies as well. Elements in Nioh are actually super fucked especially in 2 and I had the focus on it.
I'm more fine with it here in wo long since they're not as strong and they tie into all of your spells but got nioh 2 lets you combo bosses for days by applying status elements
>Do this other elemental weapon build
nah im good. basically every build tunnels you to elemental weapons/stacking. i shouldn't have to play stupid because the game was poorly made compared to Nioh.
You don't need to do that tho? lol? If you want to play pure melee then go ahead and there are plenty of spell buffs that have nothing to do with elemental status build up
Thats just the confusion build from nioh. Game the system enough and you dont need to even use deflect much.
How do I join people for matchmaking without needing a password for coop?
You can't
If you're asking how to bring up the list and choose who to join/invade, go to Online Settings and change the options on the second page. You should probably also change the settings to show what people have decorated their gear as, for some reason it's set off by default.
>go to Online Settings and change the options on the second page
Change what options? I want to join as a summon
If you change Show Recruitment and Invasion Search Results to "Show", then when you pick those options to join someone then the list will show up instead of automatically joining. Or if you're getting mixed up by the option at the flag, when you select Recruit it then gives you the option to either summon people or join them.
Oh I got it now, thanks. I was using the co-op option and going into a lobby.
You could technically deflect in Nioh 2 with a Mid-Stance active skill. It's way less forgiving than Sekiro/Wo Long though.
>its too much like a fromsoft game so its bad
>but its also too unlike a fromsoft game so its bad
Fromdrones are nintendie tier scumsuckers.
$70? I paid $12.
god the bosses are so shit
im at that old gay who multiplies himself and spams magic
dogshit
amazing how the went from nioh to this
sounds like someone is getting stomped kek
Ok i admit im a shitter, i went back and beat him
Kashin Koji isn't that bad, he has low health especially after he comes back
Every bosses in NG have low hp that's why they die so fast and people don't even need to learn their moveset
The plot line of the Sun clan is pointless in Wo Long. Yu ji story center around elixir in zhongyuan, that's why Sun Jian go back to jiandong alone and die so suddenly because they have no better reason to integrate Sun morons in the story. You see Sun Ce and Sun Quan in cutscenes during the battle between Cao Cao and Yuan Shao, and it's funny that their plot also end in another cutscene. Yu Ji stabbing Sun Ce and threatening Sun Quan which went nowhere because Yu ji instantly die by our hands after that. Thw entire Sun shit feel ao forced
Bros...I finished episode 6 of 3 Kingdoms and am in the middle of 7. So good. I see why they gave Sun Jian such a long death scene in Wo Long.
I wonder what side they'll have us fight for in the DLC since the base game is before the actual 3 Kingdoms stuff and everyone is friendly with each other fighting the big bad.
Sun jian's death in Wo Long is a bit rushed though. The game really needed DW tier character development.
>chinese lore is the worlds most boring shit
>surprised
the fuck?
Lion's Roar is so fucking cool for boss battles, soak up all dat aggro
for co-op boss battles I meant.
>Guan Yu as the final DLC boss
i hope you fight him as human, not another demonic dragon man
Why would he be the final boss?
the third DLC is about the battles in Jingzhou. It is going to be about Guan Yu raping Wei and eventually killed by Wu
why does she looks so cute here but looks like a chud in-game?
youre seeing your reflection on the dark screen
Is the spear considered a halberd
No halberds are it's own weapon type.
Wholly appropriate that this dumpster fire's cute mascot is called a Shitshow
So is there a way to increase the resistance of an armor piece? I thought upgrading the armor would just naturally give points to resistance but nope.
You can change the effects to many different things, including resistance against elements.
Only through embedding.
The fuck why is the master smith hammer so expensive. It's a one star
Because it comes with Equipment Drop Rate and getting it enables it to be dropped from enemies.
>recruite some online bros for Zhang Liao boss fight online
>3/4 of his health left, he takes out both of them and Im about to die
>summon Tengshe, stun him so I rescue my bros at the last second and we get back to the fight
>1/4 of his health left, we are about to die but we are still pushing it
>he does the jump and swirl red attack
>me and a bro parry at the same time, theres anl animation of both of us doing rhe parry
>I do the critical, and take him out
>we 3 bow before parting ways
Fucking kino
Is water even worth using. What are the best spells? They all seem mediocre.
Yes. All of them except for the Deflect cost one based on what you want to use them for. They offer a wide variety of utility, traversal options and long range offense.
ice trap is really good. in pve and pvp. ice fog in pvp is also really good. as is that ice rain.
water is super gay
I main water stat but I mainly melee and parry. Element enchantment is universally good, and the ice rain is good for big target that don't have water resistance, like monkey, sun jien
4 Water is really nice just to have Alacrity Haste as that can make moving through missions a much faster endeavor. Infinite Tiger Running Scroll if you're from Nioh. As for investment, I don't have personal experience but the big rain is great for big enemies, the ice trap sounds interesting though I don't know how good the ailment of Chill is on pve enemies.
Water erodes stone.
>Water erodes stone
no dumbass, earth absorbs water
Frozen malice does good damage a great spirit damage when you upgrade water a bit, frozen trap shits on groups and bosses alike for damage and it can stagger most enemies it hits. Ominous chill is one of the highest DPSing spells in the game against bosses that you can break their spirit and keep them from moving, cast it, then deliver the fatal blow. Haste is nice to have for getting through areas faster, and blink can be fun if a bit weird to use.
so exactly what was the reason for adding in the "personal pronouns" in the character creator when the protagonist isn't even addressed that way in the game.
So what kind of spells are you hoping for in the DLCs
personally hoping we get to throw giant boulders at people with earth or maybe lift the ground up and create a shockwave
more melee "spells" like that Earth charge
Is that actually good?
not really but fuck being a gay ass wizard
>Helping people with Lu Bu holding aggro the entire time with lion's roar
this is fun as fuck
What does damage felt in perfect condition mean.
meaning you have no debuff on you
and full health I think. there is a button you can press to check the description for all item stats. they break it down what they do really clearly.
As the description says, it's when you're at full HP. Nothing to do with ailments or debuffs, just full HP required.
Wait. Water causes chill correct? And it's strong against fire? So why does chill affect stone resistance?
Because Water is weak to Earth.
So am I correct in
>Cast ice spell
>Enemy chill debuffs
>Switch to stone weapon and can do even MORE damage?
So it turns out Repression Crush's description is most likely wrong. I already felt like it wasn't doing what it said it should be doing, but by comparing the icons and seeing what the debuff actually does according to the list in the menu it actually inflicts Spirit Decay, which slows automatic Spirit recovery during low Spirit.
You are indeed.
What did you think it meant??
The description says it slows recovery during Spirit Disruption, which is the name of the state when your Spirit gets broken, so naturally I assumed you could extend that for more damage.
Ideally yes, but in keeping with the elemental counters, him applying a Fire buff would cleanse any Metal debuffs that were currently on, like poison.
So then for Lu Bu I should be casting metal.
Poison him
Then switch to water weapon to fuck him up?
No. He's fire, you won't be able to poison him.
i could burn Aoye and Yuan Shao with some effort but it did dickall damage.
Man that's super weird how the debuffs were made then. If I need water and apply a water debuff. I need to then use stone againt him when he gets debuffed then correct?
All of the elemental afflictions reduce defense against the element they are weak against.
Chinese mythology is boring and always devolves into an incomprehensible sludge of forgettable characters and setpieces.
>general Wingdings Zhao Zhang from Zhung Zao lay siege to Zhan Zhanji Dao, the city of Wang Zaoji Zhang Wing Dings Bao and Sans Serif Zhung Zaokungdanjizhangmang-
Additionally, chinese "fighting styles" in games always look weightless, nonsensical and are loaded with way too many effects to keep it readable. Nioh had the same issue, but to a lesser degree.
Nah. RoTK is legitimately a really good story and some of the offspring media is great too.
Wo Long doesn't represent it that well at all, arguably worse than Nioh dealt with japanese history and mythology
I'm inclined to believe you that the original source material is probably great, but I've never seen game adaptations of any chinese story where my brain didn't melt.
you're just unfamiliar with the language and names. you probably had trouble remembering various jap names when you were initially exposed to a lot of the media.
It's because no game will ever be able to touch upon the whole thing and the target audience is people who are familiar with it through cultural osmosis (China, Korea, Japan) so if you go into a game based on it without knowledge of it you basically get dunked on.
I read Rot3K (not the abridged gayry) after playing DW3 back in the day, it's based.
Ran into some gay cheating in co-op. Was stunning the boss every hit, very gay.
This game is the great filter, brainlets cannot enjoy it
If it had "fromsoft" slapped on it they would think it's the greatest thing ever made
This game has nothing to do with fromsoft except superficial systems so I don't know why people keep comparing it to their games.
I wish Souls games would exit the cultural zeitgeist already because although I enjoy them I fucking hate the whirlwind of retardation they brought to the medium.
Because frommorons have a complex and no game on the market is allowed to be better than souls shit.
I determine what games are good. when this game is $20 I will buy it and we will finally learn if it's good. no, I will not pirate because I am too good for that.
so the only grace worth getting is lingbao right?
What does that one do again?
22% dmg increase against enemies with 3 debuffs on them which is easily achieved
compare it to fire grace where you need to do 5 martial arts for a 23% dmg bonus only on martial arts
Yeah considering how many effects you can put on that debuff the enemy + the numerous debuffs from metal that seems like it would be really easy to get.
Is it good though? Damage % increases seem worthless when the average attack at max level upgrades does 100 damage with martial arts at 2-300 with some long wind up ones doing more. The bonus seems meaningless.
souls likes sell themselves, they knew they would get away with it.
another day another gay ass trolling hacker (and on ps5 too)
I played like 400 hours of Nioh 2 co-op on ps4 and ran into 1 hacker, why the hell is it so rampant now?
theres no pvp in nioh
visitors could kill you with fire pots and they used hax to make them do a million dmg
probably easier access to cheats or something, im assuming the cheaters are all at ps4
chink game
What is the best weapon type?
soulslop
nipslop
japslop
>how did Koei manage to do the absolute bare minimum and expect the most money
Bad habit from Warriors/Musou series
Niohcucks still coping like crazy I see, so much so that they're actually drowning out the from software schizos
I'm surprised so many people have trouble with Lu Bu. I'm just trying him out and he's not really that much of an issue one I switched off poison to stone and ice. His horse is easy to read. Only issue is that flurry of attacks he does towards the end.
Bro people have issues with the first boss
I had an issue with this fucker
Aoye is a fight where the tempo is all over the place so I don't really like him either
better than that shitty dancer fight in DS3 though
I honestly found him significantly harder than almost every boss after him, I can understand the complaints.
Zhang Liang is only hard due to the situation you were in
>no good gears
>3 heals only
>most importantly it's the first boss encounter and the player are not familiar with the mechanics
>especially the game throw the divine beast tutorial mid fight
Try him again on NG+ and he is just another humanoid sandbag
They're totally gonna nerf the first boss right?....... Right?
You can literally skip the second half of the fight entirely, and e-celebs were STILL bitching to high heaven about the game being too hard
I'm so glad this game filtered the balding retard
he beat it without much trouble
it's not hard just bad
>there IS more than one slot for invaders
why did you lie to me
What do each of the status effects do. Which one is best?
they are all dots + some way to fuck with spirit except fire, fire is just damage
how do you kill that fucking dragon in part 4? the one that keeps sending lighting down on you
Find an area with a roof over you and shoot it with bows/daggers or magic.
what magic can reach him up there?
I'm on NG+ and I want it dead jackass.
I laughed my ass off when I got to this, so many people with problems and it's such a non issue. Just fucking dodge the lightning, retard. It's not even a long section.
>do sub battlefield
>Ok 1v1 this is fair
>Suddenly
So what are they gonna do for ng++, just make boss morale 30 while capping you at 20? Will they even make ng++?
>Will they even make ng++?
There definitely will be, having a bunch of higher difficulties is Team Ninja's thing. I have no idea what they're gonna do though, I don't think they can really fuck with red attacks like they did burst counters, a system similar to cursed enemies will fit right in though and obviously just adding random new attacks to whatever.
hopefully give the player some more tools because I'm already bored of what we have and I haven't even made it through NG+.
What shokdtI be spending my accolades on? I don't know what to roll for.
save them until the final dlc
theres only two other types of things you can get with accolades my dude
you really need someone to tell you what to spend it on?
So Lion's Roar in PVP makes them face you? Can someone explain?
>Devs add NG++
>Literally every enemy just oneshots you if you dare to do anything but parry their red attacks and counter
>wonder why the fuck I'm so light
>Earth increases equip load
>Super fucking fast now
>Just found a dual swords that scale A+ and have an embedded garden gnomeel that Adds A plus scaling with a light load
>1556 attack
Holy fuck
What are these graces you guys are talking about? I just went and salvaged everything that wasn't a 4* so I never saw it.
>What are these graces you guys are talking about? I just went and salvaged everything that wasn't a 4* so I never saw it.
What the fuck is wrong with you
Why?
Because I was wearing 4* stuff already and figured I can just embed whatever... should I not have done that then?
Nah that's based. These graces are absolute basura and will be outclassed the second the first DLC drops. That other anon is mad he grinded hours of his life for planned obsolescence
It's something for NG+, any non-set item of 4* or 5* (NG+ exclusive, guaranteed to have a grace, 4* is not guaranteed) can roll with a grace on top of everything else, they're rare and mostly best in slot. Can be on weapons (including bows) and armors, not accessories.
Someone earlier in these threads mentioned cheat engine, which I technically do have, but at this point it's a matter of fucking pride. I WILL NOT BREAK BEFORE THIS GAME'S FUCKING RNG FROM HELL, I AM ONLY A PAIR OF LIGHT GLOVES AWAY! Makes me appreciate Nioh 2 a hell of a lot more since I never recall it getting this bad.
>in before it's witch gloves, which come with a damage affix and thus are awful
>It's something for NG+
Oh I see, thanks anon. I haven't finished the game yet.
3k is a dogshit setting
FUCK THOSE BROTHERS. FUCK YOUUUUUUU
Wait what
yeah it's free but it's trash
>Elemental weakness is more effective in this game than in pokemon
How can so many anons rage at this game? Just exploit the elemental weakness before they nerf that shit.
Can the divine beasts flame and wizardry flame for a weapon be stacked ?
just beat the final boss and it kinda baffles me how lackluster it is compared to every other one of the nioh-like final bosses.
Like even stranger of paradise had a really cool final boss to fight, but here it's literally just a buffed up version of the boss you just fought
like what even happened here that the final boss turned out the way it did? Even hundred eyes was at least a new boss
Fumihiko Yasuda is working on other games
>Liu Bei 2
I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this fight...oh wait it's because the fight begins with 2 companions if you don't get rid of them and they just steal all the aggro and make the fight more manageable
He's really cool though, I wish I wasn't so buffed up that I beat him in 2 tries.
I'm surprised people don't talk more about these bros. The game drops one really good level with 2 full boss fights (technically 3 bosses) which are really interesting even compared to their previous works and hardly anyone brings them up.
Leishe is a regular enemy like ITSUMADE
I got erectile dysfunction, quit talking about this game.
Can the divine beasts flame and wizardry flame for a weapon be stacked ?
>Played Dynasty warrior way back when
>Voice actors pronounced "Cao Cao" as "Cow Cow"
>Played Wolong this past week
>They pronounced it like "Sho Sho"
Imagine how much time and money it cost them to teach the gweilo voice actors to pronounce the chinese names correctly.
And what's the point? It's not like the chinese speakers will play with english voice anyway.
Why would they localize his name as Cao Cao if it's not pronounced Cow Cow? English speakers are retarded.
>Why would they localize his name as Cao Cao if it's not pronounced Cow Cow?
The correct way to say his name is Tsao Tsao.
TS sound is basically C sound.
So Tsao = Cao.
Not that hard isn't it, ESL-kun?
If I call you a cuck you'll read it as tsuck? This language sucks dick.
So just write Tsao Tsao like a normal human being
Whoever came up with Cao Cao should be chopped into pieces and fed to a dog
There are some printings of Three Kingdoms that do, it makes more sense honestly. It's just boomer shit that became common nomenclature.
Cao Cao is the chinese pinyin just like rest of the chinese names ingame
>but why
Idk, but just like japanese names, the romaji are written like that in their original language and westerners just decide to pronounce them however they want
>Defending Cao Cao of all things
My bro. No one would look at Cao Cao and think "Oh, that must be Tsao Tsao" shut the fuck up retard.
Romanized Chink is very retarded. None of it makes sense, you just have to know the pronunciations
>tfw was literally the first person to spam wounded in co-op and invasions
>now everybody is doing it
Can the divine beasts flame and wizardry flame for a weapon be stacked ?
