How did this moron managed to kill thousands of trained mercenaries/agents, including a lot of ex spec ops members from units like the spetsnaz, SAS and Delta Force etc.. just by himself ?

He's hot.
l u d o n a r r a t i v e

Yeah
it doesnt explain anything
A misappropriated term that never fit for Uncharted to begin with.
There is no ludonarrative in Uncharted, the story is 100% linear and doesn't deviate based on player choice. In order for there to be a ludonarrative there needs to be player choice in the story that changes the outcome.
You don't know what that means.
it's a social commentary about talent vs hard work
Luck. He never gets hit. Don't believe, go check gameplay, he doesn't get hit unless he dies.
This is unironically the canonical answer.
Nathan Drake is just extremely lucky. Every time he gets shot it misses, when he finally dies it's because his luck ran out.
thats lame
actually that's cool
He's an American.
Better question is how did he to a sheboon after all that?
because cuckmann wanted so
even if you dont believe in pozzed shit, there is actually zero chance that nadine survive an encounter with drake if you consider all of his feats in previous games or nate just has a femdom fetish
>nate allows nadine to feel like she won because he has a huge thing for being beaten up by women
kino
any femdom games ?
Nate was also way past his prime by 4. He was a nonstop globetrotting murder machine 1 - 3. In 4 he's a paper pushing office stooge suffering a midlife crisis with a bit of belly pudge. Uncharted 2/3 Nate would have kicked the shit out of Nate in 4. And effortlessly kicked the shit out of Nadine and Jake Gyllenhaal.
even young nate in columbia would have fricked up nadine
drake in 4 should normally kill her in 10 seconds
if the game wanted nadine to beat nate, they should have made like nadine + an elite squad of female mercs VS nate
it would have been way more believable
Or have him get knocked around beforehand, anything, there's tone of easy ways to set up the scene in a way that isn't jarring, but Druckman has a thing for 'strong women' in the most dimwitted literal way possible.
he's the main character
Sullivan trained him well
Main character and all that fodder is probably counted as non canon since it's just there to pad out the games.
its counted as canon tho
Lazarevic mention this in uncharted 2, by saying that its weird that nate refuse to Kill him when he killed hundred of men just in by this day
oh, well then
By being american. No-one cares about your 3rd world "special" forces.
delta force/the mercs from golden abyss are american
also the SAS are obviously better than ans american unit
>the SAS are obviously better than ans american unit
Yeah saw how good they did in WW2 LMAO.
lol
>tangles self in rope
>catches self on fire
>uncoordinated breach
>SAS are obviously better
lmao
Man when's the Nathan Drake Collection coming to PC other than emulating
Already out.
I said other than emulating
moxie
Uncharted > TLOU
anybody know that
TLOU is overrated
He's a video game.
Chloe is basically what nu-Lara is trying to be.
chloe is more of a prostitute/femme fatale than lara
even the Old lara
Why didn't he pick her?
too crazy and prostitute-like
So that I could
She's an abo mutt
she is indian + euro or just full indian
indian/australian
yeah but by australian, they mean white/euro, not abo
cool but could have been cooler
yeah i was just being pedantic
Ok half Indian is a little better but Elena is still superior
i dont see how
elena is cute but wheter its the face or the body, chloe wins
She's a thief!
You pick that over this?
yeah
I'd pick the pawg.
he wanted a family and she wasn't interested i assume.
Requires fixing, exciting.
Already fixed, boring.
His brother was cool right Ganker?
Boston accent
What stops naughty dog from evolving their formula
Even in lous2 its this moronic mix where people are made to have names, extreme gore and you're supposed to feel bad about killing them, cutscenes are obviously made to be dramatic about the important of individual lives.
But when you get to gameplay they're the same human npc mobs you kill by the thousands in every other game and the 2 style choices don't compliment each other.
The npcs behave moronic and dont care about their own lives in gameplay, they cant kill the protag with bullets because gameplay.
I dont get it. Surely some sort of game design change would benefit the dramatic narrative.
That's my problem with Uncharted and TLOU. You kill hundreds of people, where are all these fricking goons coming from and why are they so intent on killing you that they will die by the hundreds to do it?
in TLOU its moronic
but in uncharted it make sense since you usually fight private armies that want you dead
Even then it's too many, even Bezos money won't convince hundreds of goons to sacrifice their lives for cash, until this Wagner shit mercenaries have been known for all of history as unreliable, casualty shy troops only kept in line by some greater force. I know its action movie shit and I'm autistic but Uncharted is doing the Indiana Jones thing, and sure he fricks up a lot of guys but not like 200 per movie. The combat really should have been much more difficult and sporadic to emphasize danger, but then they wouldn't have enough filler to pad their games out. Frick it's worse with the nu-Tomb Raiders where Lara is all unsure of herself and shit but has killing ability surpassing the fricking predator, everyone should be shitting their pants when they hear about Lara or Nathan or Ellie but again, gotta pad this shit out somehow
they all think they can get nate
>The combat really should have been much more difficult and sporadic to emphasize danger
t. didnt play grounded in either series.
>in TLOU its moronic
?
you spend time antagonizing and having conflicts with factions, bandits, zombies, and military police. who in the established narrative, have a beef with the main characters. it's literally the most concrete thing presented to you.
there are already games that 'have' attempted to sync game design between their narratives and gameplay content. Heavy Rain, F&H, Undertale, Disco Elysium, etc. get shat on here for not following typical video game conventions, regardless of whether they are actually good or not.
Its funny you list award winning titles with mass appeal.
Theres obvious value that comes from making a cohesive product that doesn't unimmerse the player, and where every individual part contributes to a greater whole.
not really sure how Fear & Hunger or Disco has 'mass appeal'. but if you're so inclined, Pathologic, Torment, Lisa, etc. do not have mass appeal.
Fh is a super cheap indie game that got a lot of threads on Ganker.
Disco was hailed as the best game of all time by some publications.
>Fh is a super cheap indie game that got a lot of threads on Ganker
literally fricking ....... so? so does Pathologic?
>Disco was hailed as the best game of all time by some publications
and another big . .. . . . so?
Are you mentally moronic?
>Are you mentally moronic?
yes.
but not as moronic as this thread.
like the question of OP is fricking stupid itself?
>How did this moron managed to kill thousands of trained mercenaries/agents, including a lot of ex spec ops members from units like the spetsnaz, SAS and Delta Force etc.. just by himself ?
what gets me is his concern about these aspects. but the game's universe already establishes there's already fantastical shit like zombies, magic, abandoned pirate resorts, mythical figures who lived and discovered larger than life things, etc.
and this concerns him? this arbitrary shit? ever consider that its consistent with the game's universe?
money and delusions of grandeur i think
can't make the stories lighter to match the tone of gameplay because of the feeling of being "real" hollywood style storytellers telling serious stories, can't de-emphasize combat and make the gunfights more serious because it has to sell millions of copies to the lowest common denominator
its Mostly a TLOU problem
killing hundred of mercs/ennemies is part of the Uncharted identity
Unsharted was the game that prompted the "ludonarrative dissonance" term, and that legacy carried over to lous.
Cutscnes portray a different reality from gameplay. Human lives value in gameplay = zero while people in cutscenes matter somehow.
Even there they should consider either changing the gameplay structure so you dont kill people mindlessly, or acknowledge this is a game and write the cutscenes to compliment the gameplay.
in cutscenes, drake doesnt care for the ennemies apart maybe in the 4
He's on playstation so gets auto aim
Because it's a video game anon
