Around start of BFA when they announced incoming censorship, body types and all that typical woke shit from California. At this point WoW was already shit for years and I just kept buying xpansions just so I can quit them few months later.
I decided to finally give CE/high level m+ a try and joined a top 500 EU guild. I killed G'huun on Mythic and got 2nd highest M+ score on my realm as a dd warrior only to realize that this shit is exhausting, boring and not worth the effort for some shitty mog or mount (first tier of BFA didn't even reward you with anything special lmao).
I then returned for a month at the end of BFA to get my Glacial Tiderstorm mount as I felt it would be a nice end to my WoW story. Haven't played on retail since then, I did play a bit of Turtle WoW last year tho.
This, but aside from the wokeshit everything was such low effort. Got sick of them trying to reinvent the wheel. Vanilla and older expacs were looked at fondly because you didn't have such a strict funnel or direction; the game just let you do what you wanted for the most part.
When they started trying to make raiding and arena PVP the funnel-to progressions instead of just enjoying the game in different ways like the start, it would have continued to be enjoyable.
It was so easy to tell everything was permanently downhill around the start of BFA, literally easiest decision ever to just quit. I sort of regret playing past original Classic though, Blizzard trannies did not deserve that free money.
I got tired of it. Everything outside of Heroic 25m raids and pet battles were absolute shit. It wasn't worth playing anymore so I quit during Pandaland and never came back.
>Cata looked horrible I skipped the entire expac, strike 1 >BFA was horrible and I quit, strike 2 >got begged to come back by friends, one last shot >Shadowlands wasn't even WoW anymore so I quit forever, strike 3 >have had no desire to ever go back
I hate raiding and I hate the devs.
Lost interest and left in BfA shortly after I got that daily quest bee battle pet.
I was only playing because I thought toys and battle pets were fun to collect and to have fun with my friends and talking with other buddies while fishing.
Wrathbabby here. I played WotLK, Cata, Legion, a little bit of BfA, and Shadowlands. Blizzard took an absolute shit on everything I loved about the lore with Shadowlands, plus the expansion in general was dog shit. I’ve contemplated playing DF but the taste of shit from SL still lingers in my mouth so I can’t bring myself to play anymore.
I tried it only or twice over a decade ago and bounced off due to how boring it was.
You need to be an actual npc well outside my interests to enjoy this, I don't have a name for it but I know exactly what internet phenotype it is.
I wonder if the modern devs ever feel embarrassed/guilty for killing the biggest/most famous golden egg of PC gaming. Who am I kidding the me me me generation is literally too narcissistic to ever admit fault.
WotLK killed it for me. The quality of the community really went downhill. Achievements meant people became more selfish and only wanted to do things for themselves instead of helping guildies/rando's. Gearscore really was cancer, a horrible way to see if someone was good (lots of pvp players and pvp speccs that were thrash in raids) i could put on a healing set and get into raids as tank.
Also the heroic dungeons were great in TBC. I liked how you needed either cc or good communication/unique strats. In WotLK every dungeon became the same aoe spamfest.
There's a reason why WotLK was the beginning of the end
People really don't understand just how badly gearscore fricked up everything.
this
achievements activated the hidden OCD gene inside every player and gearscore completed their transformation into utter c**ts
wotlk was the end
I didn't want to be part of it anymore
My old guild died at the end of wotlk because of minor drama and ICC lasting for way too long.
I tried classic but it just wasn't the same, shadowlands was irredeemable trash and they added a paid boost and store mount to tbc classic on top of meaningless woke changes no one asked for.
Kek, then added a new reason because of FFXIV, I'm pretty sure this wasn't there when I quit at the beginning of Shadowlands.
For me it was mainly the exhaustion of grinding for nothing during BfA. And the new Shadowlands lore completely ruined all my undead RP characters and headcanon, it was the last straw
Bought WotlK, played for about a month, it was shit and I quit. Came back during a later patch to kill Arthas with a bunch of irl friends, but it just didn't manage to pull me in like it used to.
Same cycle repeated for the next couple expansions. Bought, played for a couple weeks, was shit, quit, and by the time BfA came out I didn't even feel like giving it another go.
Played Dragonflight and leveled to max before the raid was released. Questioned what the frick am I doing with myself and if I was really just going to be wrapped into another WoW cycle of dailies, M+, Raid, RNG, Repeat again. Then I started thinking of all the FOMO shit I'll never get and just quit.
walked in not expecting excellence and a WoW killer and I got a B2P MMO with no monthly fee and feels more alive than WoW has the last 10 years because the servers can actually handle more than 20 people in an area
I bought GW2 at launch and tried to get into the game 3 different times at different stages in the game's life cycle. Do not presume to tell me what I'm basing my opinion on.
I like how Rogue plays but everything in retail sucks. The story is shit. I don't care about any of the characters. The factions are boring generic filler. Even the zones aren't interesting. I admit they can look nice but theres hardly anything to do in them. Even BFA had more content.
Bring back Vol'jin, Sauarfaung and badasses who actually wanted to get stuff done. Now its all rainbow dragons, gay frogs and weirdo moles. The soul of the game is gone.
There's not even new game system in this expansions. Flying as a dragon is literally the only feature. Its fun for a bit but it can't carry an entire expansion. Everything else you've seen 10 times already.
The fact that Vol'jin, Saurfang all of the old badasses basically died humiliating or violent deaths tells a lot. If Stonetalon peaks had not been written by some intern that didn't get the memo on Garrosh's character and they actually intended for more of a grey character interpretation, Garrosh would've been fine too. The old factions have been replaced by the WoW equivalent of zoomer factions and it shows.
It was really easy, considering I I didn't like it I only played it with a friend who ended up having a sleep schedule that made it possible to play with him
Every negative criticism of BC and Wrath is correct. While those were still objectively good expansions (and ulduar is one of the best raids the game has seen), a lot of the things they introduced killed the magic. And Cata was a trash heap.
>try WoW during Shadowlands >realize new player experience is raw sewage and the game is specifically tailored to a[ handful of mazed homosexuals only playing out of sunk cost fallacy
It's as easy as that
>make cute strong female character >white girls are not esg enough make her a troon thus resulting in a biological white man >biological white women are too stupid to understand the erasure implication and support the patriarchy establishing dominance over the female world by just wearing dresses
Shadowlands and bfa being absolute pieces of shit. not to mention all the other blizzard games that have gone into the shitter. deleted my entire bnet, no point in having it anymore.
I simply lost all interest. I forced myself to login once after not playing for months and I couldn't bring myself to continue. The dopamine trigger doesn't work anymore.
BFA did it >already didn't like Legion and BFA was somehow like a beta version of the systems from it >zero control over gearing thanks to titanforging and the shit eating moron design of azerite armor not letting you even test the perks before selecting them >forcing you into gameplay you did not enjoy like island expeditions just so you can use higher ilvl versions of the same fricking item you are already wearing >content is both delayed and unfinished when released >corruptions meant even your throughput was completely out of your control and they were randomly fricking acquired when introduced >absolutely fricking horrible story >vulpera were offputting at the time, little did we know it was the first sign of the game actively migrating to an aggressively gay furry troony game like it is now in DF
the SL trailer (and DF trailer) made me actually grimace when watching it but I genuinely can't believe how fricking gay the game looks now. after not playing it for a few months I had zero desire to revisit it which to me is just a sign my attachment to the game was unhealthy
>Get vanilla WoW when I'm in 6th grade, think it's the biggest and grandest thing I've ever seen. Took what felt like an eternity to get to lvl 60 since I didn't know what the frick I was doing >Buy TBC when it comes out, takes an eternity to get to lvl 70 >Quit for a while, pick it up again when WotLK comes out but only made it to lvl 77 before getting bored >Pick up Cata when in college. Had a blast since I was in a guild with good people and main tanked all of the raids with them >Leave at the end of Cata, skipped MoP and WoD >Picked up Legion and enjoyed the leveling experience, but quit once there was nothing left to do but raiding and PVP >Skipped BfA >Picked up Shadowlands, had the same experience as with Legion >Picked up Dragonflight, had the same experience as with Legion.
I recognize that I'll never have as much fun with the game as I did in Cata, because I don't plan on ever joining a guild or raiding again. I suck at competitive so PVP was never a draw for me. The nostalgia of doing old content has worn off since I've done it so much, and thankfully I'm not a slave to mounts/pets/transmogs. There's just nothing left in the game for me. I'll get my lore fix from shitpost threads, and if they do a fanservice expansion I'll probably check it out but quit once I reach max level again.
Played until BFA and finally just lost interest. Then Shadowlands came and it was so far removed from Warcraft I felt no desire to come back, and Dragonflight's weird LGBT pandering just cemented that desire. I played classic for a while when it first came out and it was genuinely really fun, but I'm not a slave to nostalgia like a lot of people and quit pretty soon after hitting 60. Final trip down memory lane, as it were.
>In Stormwind bank >Fans come on >Resources 100%
What the frick?! Already burned out from years of devs laughing at players and the newly implemented level scaling, I quit.
I only managed to quit during Shadowlands. The game had been shit for years and I was playing purely out of habit at that point. Then they started turning it into LGBTcraft and I knew it was over.
Nothing against gays but your writers routinely come up with the most cringeworthy shit imaginable.
BFA was incredibly bad. Got AOTC N'zoth and haven't played since. Probably won't play it again. I played on and off since vanilla but they really lost the plot with Azerite and corruptions and mythic chests and obnoxious daily shit.
Around start of BFA when they announced incoming censorship, body types and all that typical woke shit from California. At this point WoW was already shit for years and I just kept buying xpansions just so I can quit them few months later.

Well Cata was a fricking dumpster fire so I dropped it and went back to EQ.
Shadowlands I actually enjoyed BFA but Shadowlands was so fricking bad that it made me quit.
i keep getting benched for being bad.
Shadowlands 9...
it just wasn't quality content and they kept forcing PRIDE and LGBT into the story.
I got tired of it. Everything outside of Heroic 25m raids and pet battles were absolute shit. It wasn't worth playing anymore so I quit during Pandaland and never came back.
my guild literally fractured and dissolved during the whole cosby room shit coming out seemed like a pretty good time to quit anyways
>Cata looked horrible I skipped the entire expac, strike 1
>BFA was horrible and I quit, strike 2
>got begged to come back by friends, one last shot

Anyone playing retail past MoP is unironically and literally autistic and moronic
play Turtle WoW
Lost interest and left in BfA shortly after I got that daily quest bee battle pet.

The Beta ended and I couldn't log in anymore.
that sucks bro
I wonder if the modern devs ever feel embarrassed/guilty for killing the biggest/most famous golden egg of PC gaming. Who am I kidding the me me me generation is literally too narcissistic to ever admit fault.
When they took "will of the forsaken nerf" out of the options for canceling a sub, that was enough for me to quit.
WotLK killed it for me. The quality of the community really went downhill. I refuse to play any videos with microtransactions and subscriptions services. Gameplay is always compromised to milk money from the player base.
Kek, then added a new reason because of FFXIV, I'm pretty sure this wasn't there when I quit at the beginning of Shadowlands.
For me it was mainly the exhaustion of grinding for nothing during BfA. And the new Shadowlands lore completely ruined all my undead RP characters and headcanon, it was the last straw

i got bored and started playing other things instead of logging into raids
It stopped being fun after the wrath expansion so I unsubbed and havent been back.
So I started playing GW2 for my MMO itch instead.
>So I started playing GW2
kek
walked in not expecting excellence and a WoW killer and I got a B2P MMO with no monthly fee and feels more alive than WoW has the last 10 years because the servers can actually handle more than 20 people in an area
game is fine
>game is fine
lol
stop basing your entire personality off what you read on Ganker
the woke shit gets annoying in one expansion, but the game itself is actually very good (for a MMO)
>but the game itself is actually very good
yeah, I don't know about that. you must have some very low standards.
...for an MMO.
all MMOs are shit so obviously my standards are low
I bought GW2 at launch and tried to get into the game 3 different times at different stages in the game's life cycle. Do not presume to tell me what I'm basing my opinion on.
Never started
It's just time to move on.
about a month after Wrath launched
cata happened

FFXIVtroony raid
>bri'ish "men"
I want to suck the girl cum out of her gock while she autistically rants about ffxiv
bros I love trans girls so much
Same. That is the dream my friend.
>played girl characters
>troons out
Many such cases.
>go troonywer
>cry about trannies
i dont undestand you morons
pint played wow classic for a long time, you do realize that..right? are the ff players in the room with you right now??
Looks like someone who frequents r34.xxx more often than he should
>try WoW during Shadowlands

By getting addicted to better games. The forced lgbt stuff made it easier to fully escape the Blizzard ecosystem.

Hong Kong
It was easy, I played Wurm Online with Ganker when we first discovered it
Quit Vanilla that very day.
Every time since, I quit after a month because I realized how much time I spent playing it that was better spent elsewhere
I love wow's world but got a hate trannies and moo players.
BFA was so bad i didnt even bother to sub for a second month, got shadowlands and a free month gifted at the end of the expac and it was even worse.
Right after cata came out. Not sure what people saw in wow after wotlk.
WC3R royally pissed me off
>In Stormwind bank
>Fans come on
>Resources 100%
What the frick?! Already burned out from years of devs laughing at players and the newly implemented level scaling, I quit.
After the first skilltree revamp when ret paladins got nerfed about a month after launch.
>nerf paladin proc damage by 30%
>smite undead doesn't work against undead players
I could see the writing on the wall, sucks it took 20 years for the rest of you homosexuals to see the light.
Shadowlands finally broke me, then DF turned up the californian liberal shit to eleven and gave me negative 100% to return.
I only managed to quit during Shadowlands. The game had been shit for years and I was playing purely out of habit at that point. Then they started turning it into LGBTcraft and I knew it was over.
Nothing against gays but your writers routinely come up with the most cringeworthy shit imaginable.
I resubbed to play shadowlands when it first came out and I only lasted a week. haven’t touched it since
Friends stop playing after wrath and it was no longer fun.
BFA was incredibly bad. Got AOTC N'zoth and haven't played since. Probably won't play it again. I played on and off since vanilla but they really lost the plot with Azerite and corruptions and mythic chests and obnoxious daily shit.
I got bored of the terrible formula.
