It was foreshadowed but still a surprise. The whole game is meant to be a metaphor for dreams so I’m assuming that the ending relates to waking up and having to go back to reality. I think that “fake memories” with no precedent are a bit contrived but I still enjoyed it. Phenomenal game overall, though I never played the sequel
>The whole game is meant to be a metaphor for dreams so I’m assuming that the ending relates to waking up and having to go back to reality
That is correct, as you are Klonoa. He is your clone-oa. And just like you leave when you're done with the game, he also has to leave once he's done in the dream world.

That is correct, as you are Klonoa. He is your clone-oa. And just like you leave when you're done with the game, he also has to leave once he's done in the dream world.
Is that the reason why Klonoa never mentions anything that happened from the first game during the events of Klonoa 2? He never mentioned he is from Breezegale in 2.
Well that's because he isn't from Breezegale. Also while it's never directly said there's so many underlying ties to DtP in LV's story that I'm pretty sure he remembers the events in some form.
Though there's nothing outright, Hyuponia's track has numerous callbacks to significant moments from Door to Phantomile.
That along with the fact that the kingdom's very name sounds like Huepow's name and the King of Sorrow's appearance looking vaguely similar to Klonoa's Door to Phantomile design in parts has led some to theorize that the whole thing is the manifestation of Klonoa's repressed grief and sorrow after the events of Door to Phantomile.
I think the ending is a bit overrated, I played it for first time last week and despite felling a bit sad. I believe the ending would have been more impactful if there wasn't an Extra level for 100% reward with its own story and if Klonoa died/vanished instead of being sent to his world and series didn't have any other sequels
That's my opinion
Nah, don't want him dying for shock value. I mean I would enjoy it more if the twist was that he's not real so he never existed and it also becomes revealed that none of the characters you interacted were aware of him, they were always talking to Huepow and saw him as the hero who did everything. So once Klonoa's mission was accomplished, he vanishes, like a dream
I also forgot to mention that what I love the most was that despite everything, Klonoa still forgives Huepow
The worlds in klonoa exist. but Klonoa does not really exist in those worlds or isn't supposed to.
Klonoa can only travel to these worlds via his dreams hence the title Dream Traveler.
Klonoa is really a proxy and representation for you the player in the dream world.

they don't go into what happens when klonoa wakes up from a dream. There's non-canon spin off games where everything gets mixed together and klonoa resides in his breezegale house.
the "good morning" screen at the end of Klonoa 2 pretty much suggests he's you tho.
I don't want Klonoa to be me bros... I'm too depress with my disappointing life to imagine Klonoa being me.

there is. and people bought it knowing it was garbage, bamco released a pile of shit because they know the fans are so desperate.
it's hugely exploitative.
It is, and people are still shilling for it and campaigning because people can't separate their wants and desires for something from the actual reality of the final product. I know people never actually learn, it's just give me what I want and then I move onto the next product to consume, but holy shit. I would have thought people would at least have some self control after Cyberpunk.
Threads fricking ruined now because the spammer will drown out any legitimate criticism.
I'm very knowledge on the wii version. it wasn't perfect but a lot of it was quite well made.
Basically Nahatom is meant to have more texture details there are also these secondary textures called normal maps which define how light hits an object to give the impression of a more detailed surface, see pic.
Normal mapping is almost entirely broken for every part in the klonoa 1 port.
>I'm very knowledge on the wii version. it wasn't perfect but a lot of it was quite well made.
At least it was still Namco in-house, even if by that time a lot of the talent from the 90's had scattered elsewhere. That's why the Wii release was reviewed as "Good for a younger audience I guess"
>stop <buzzword>
Nope. You're not going to shit things up by invalidating the actual posts that discuss the games and ignoring the clearly low quality ones.
That wood texture was never meant to repeat horizontally. in the wii version the book is placed on the table in a circle of light and everything around it is occluded by darkness so the texture never extends beyond that. it looks good. but because they broke shading and shadows in the port there is no darkness. they just misaligned the same textures and repeated it.
What's them matter, your retinas too weak to handle a little saturation? Maybe you should try Gears of Wars, it's completely devoid of colors, just like you want it to be.
>>I know it's trash but buy it so we can get more klonoa games.
This has always been the most moronic take yet most people even in this board swear by it
All they're doing is letting devs know that they don't have to put in any effort or money into making new games because people will eat up these low effort rereleases and remakes then beg for more.
>That release was fine
they did basically nothing to the game but put subdivides over models right? every texture was already basically just a flat colour.
so basically the only reason it turned out ok is because they didn't frick with the original creators art.
>they did basically nothing to the game but put subdivides over models right?
That's what you fricking want from a remake. The exact same game as it was 20 years ago, but running at a higher resolution, framerate and available on modern platforms. This isn't a REBOOT where people accept that developers take artistic liberties. This is a fricking remake, so do it properly or not at all.
i barely understood english back then, but i more or less understood what was happening, thought about it for days, listening to the ending song still made me shed a tear for years
The graphics are whatever. Have some gripes I haven't seen anyone else mention.
>Same problem the Crash remakes had; platforms have rounded hit boxes rather than flat square, making it easy to slip right off smaller ones >Klonoa has almost zero post-hit invincibility
and I swear the wind bullet went farther in the original.
So THAT'S why I've been losing all my lives and I couldn't grab Seadolph off Pamela...
I guess playing on easy is more like the original than I thought, aside the extra lives and HP...

Speaking of, did they keep the fricking closed gap from the Wii version in that fight? That pissed me off. As if the fight wasn't easy enough already.
Everything in 1 feels really weird because the world and enemies are the same scale but Klonoa is tiny at half the size yet still has almost the same movement properties. Windbullets however are scaled down with klonoa so your range is about half that of the wii version.
not sure how to scale comparisons with the ps1 proportions. I would guess it's shorter relative to that too.

No wonder I'm fricking up on so many of my jumps. I knew something was off with the wind bullets. Muscle memory is ruining me
Holy shit. Why is the moon kingdom such a huge fricking difficulty spike. I'd accumulated over 20 lives by the time I finished the sun temple and I'm already down to 3
second game made me actually tear at the ending and start crying later.
it's just very innocent.
i remember playing that shit in a demo when i was like 6 years old.
god i loved the PS2 days back then.
After finishing Klonoa 1 remaster, I can say that it was easier for me to get the 150 gems compared to the original on PS1. I had no problems with the control, I don't know how it will apply to this with 2.
I guess the farewell was a little sad, I was confused over Kloana not actually being real in this games reality but eh. The final bosses were anti climatic and a let down. Still had a fun time playing through the game though.
Is the ending supposed to be a meta thing? Like Klonoa is a video game protagonist so now that the game (dream) is over he has to leave to wait for his next adventure. Is Diva who sings the song of rebirth then a literal reset button and her "song" is a PS1 startup jingle?
It's supposed to be a dream the player wakes up from.
Yeah, I kinda felt that was the case. The ending was probably a huge mindfrick for kids who played it back in the day before meta stories became relatively common in video games.
Huepow talked to Jiji before the game started, to get him in on his master plan to get Klonoa on his plan to save the world.
When Huepow said I'm sorry, he wasn't apologizing to Klonoa. He was apologizing to Jiji for getting him involved like that.
It takes the entire twist of "it's just a dream" and makes it an actual concept
Klonoa travels through dreams to help others that summon him, he's called "Klonoa of the Wind" because he constantly travels without a real home to call his own, 1 has him young and naive enough to be manipulated by Hupoe but 2 legit ends with him accepting that he has to leave and can't stay with Lolo
This absolutely doesn't mean that.
I wouldn't say these broken ports that are worse in every way than the originals are good enough either. especially for Klonoa standards.
Just releasing the original games without them fricking up the game code and art direction would have been far preferable. It's the lack of care that is a really bad sign and means we probably wont get a klonoa 3.
you underestimate how much work it's going to be to be to unfrick this.
movement code, animations, textures, lighting, model replacement. re-implementing 3D moving mouths on the models instead of the cheap 2D ones.
you need to create a proper shader preloading system to resolve the shader compilation stutter they added.
if you can decompile the source code using unity decomp methods so we have access to whole unity project then I'll help with development. but that will be hard.
Access to a Klonoa 2 source code would be amazing so we could make a PC port like Jak and daxter. but the port has been so thoroughly defaced I'd prefer the original PS2 source code just because there wouldn't be a mountain of things to fix..
I just hope they're allowed the budget to patch up the major offenders (cutscenes primarily, and #2's wind bullet collision being off) in this package at the least.
i say keep your expectations realistic, BAMCO also released Katamari Damacy REROLL, the game has almost 3000 reviews on steam, so im gonna assume it sold well, by comparison Klonoa only has 442 reviews so far, both games have a very positive reception too
and yet, there has been no new Katamari Damacy games or announcements since then, not even a remake of the sequels
So was Klonoa's appearance also meant to be fake in the original game? Grandpa and the villagers look like him though. So it's either them who were changed to look like Klonoa or Klonoa was changed to look like them.
I've been wondering about this for years. KoS and presumably the rest of his race also kinda look like Klonoa, so maybe cabbits are common across the dream-multiverse or whatever.
IRL reason for this is probably that Klonoa's appearance was meant to be fake / changed to fit the world he was sent to but then they had to make more games. There was no way they were going to scrap the character design, so it was just kinda left as a plot hole.
>This absolutely doesn't mean that. >I wouldn't say these broken ports that are worse in every way than the originals are good enough either. especially for Klonoa standards. >Just releasing the original games without them fricking up the game code and art direction would have been far preferable. Bruh this dude unironically thinks the Klonoa franchise has standards
Dude we haven't had anything but remasters for 20 fricking years what fricking standards are there?
They took a low risk low budget to see how well it would sell. Why the frick would you throw millions at a brand new game if there's no audience to buy it? Namco aren't fricking idiots like the Morbius people were.
This dude being a fat fricking armchair INTJ "Hehe I'm so smart I know what I'm talking about" dude you smell like doritos and armpit hair go take a shower instead of lurking these threads b***hing about a game franchise you don't even play
>Why the frick would you throw millions at a brand new game if there's no audience to buy it?
This is what virtually every company did back in the day, they made games and took the risk. But now it's all "ablooo poor multimillion company needs to test the waters with shitty low effort ports first or else Mr. Shekelzawa would be risking not being able to go on a vacation to the bahamas this year, pls show your support and enable this lazy garbage output so we can get new games in the future maybe :<"
Stop simping for Bandai Namco holy shit. They are literally one of the wealthiest corporations in the business. The least they could do was put out a decent fricking product for 50 burgerbones.

There's something about gloveless Klonoa that's really offputting to me. Might just be my brain making the false assumption he had cartoonish sized gloves, rather than just....having huge hands.

Huepow did his job as royalty. He saved his kingdom and the world, got himself a Diva to marry, and will now be King of the Moon Kingdom when his mother dies.
The true hero of the game was Huepow.
Considering the masculine form given to me by Providence I must only be focused on dominating others, therefore I would be more interested in the butthole of any other given person(s) than their penis, for the penis is meant for one to dominate others and as I am built for dominating others the only penis that should matter to me would be my own and not any one else's.

you joke, but i'm afraid they might unironically make a lot of 3D crash-like levels if a klonoa 3 were to happen. 2.5D would still happen, and i think slide levels too, but i can see them go full 3D as well.
Wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't overpriced. The biggest issue is the availability of the PS2 game. If Sony actually cared about backwards compat then we'd probably have a good way to play it other than having to dig up a ps2
Had a bit of a cry. I don't even know how I didn't get spoiled on the ending, I'm pretty sure I picked it up on a Ganker recommendation years and years ago and played it on emulator.
Sad, but true, it will just be more soulless trash, let Klonoa die.

Not sure why everyone is replying to this, but was he still at Namco for the Wii Remake?. People forget about all the dumb shit they tried to pull with the Wii version, and that was in-house. They tried to change the overrall character for the worse, which people tevolted against. And then they gave everyone voiced lines and Klonoa sounds like a saturday morning cartoon character with Sonic 'tude.
If this remake actually had more heart and polish i'd be more receptive to them going ahead with a sequel. But part of me yhinks that Klonoa is a franchise that is best served by indie devs making their own Klonoa-like and mogging whatever Bamco could do because they clearly don't give a shit beyond milking the good will and have since 2009.

Do you have any proof of that or are you just a derranged fanboy?
Klortana, now load up my special copy of Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series for my BBC Micro via this special bespoke high-quality tape.
It was incomprehensibly confusing because the game opens up with Klonoa living in his house in a village full of creatures that look exactly like him and he has a grandpa. Hyupo bought real estate, tampered with Klonoa's memories to make him think that real estate belong to him, dressed Klonoa pajamas, dumped Klonoa in that bed, went back up to the moon kingdom in the sky, divebombed into the forest to get Klonoa's attention, and convinced an old man to play along with the deception up said old man's dying breaths?
Interesting thing about Grandpa: He actually didn't stay dead after the events of Door to Phantomile, or at least wasn't originally meant to. A few years ago Yoshizawa posted the storyboards to the ending FMV revealing it was meant to go on a bit longer, having more scenes of the world being revived. One of these scenes shows Grandpa waking up in a sort of coffin. This was cut for time constraints though, and also Yoshizawa deleted the tweet so unfortunately I can't find it anymore. Maybe it's in the art book they made for this release.
>at this point I wouldn't be surprised if these two are actually just the same person
I'm starting to think so as well. These threads have been so fricked. I wonder if jannies are laughing at us.
Technically I did see Klonoa for the Wii on a shelf in 2008 but because it looked like another generic shovelware title, I ignored it
Then around late 2013 I actually opened a Klonoa thread and then bought the PS1 version on my Vita and played through it and fell in love with the series and bought Lunatea's Veil for PS2 in 2015 and played EoD on my sister's Wii U
back in my country there were stores selling pirated games at obviously lower prices than original ones, back then i dont know how to pirate so we went there often
i dont remember if it was me or one of my siblings the one who picked up the game, but yeah, we got it, i played it, and got to the fricking ending
i remember finishing it shortly before we went on vacation to visit some relatives, i was consistently thinking about that ending while i was away from home
Man, I miss going to flea markets, best place to get rare-ish games for cheap. There was a big one I used to go to all the time back when I used to live in Texas. Unfortunately they tore it down for a private park.
>It'll make more sense as you keep playing. Later parts of the game are kinda spoilery, especially for the second game.
I rented and beat Klonoa 2 from Blockbuster in 2001 and beat it in a weekend. I remember the game and its levels, however, the actual story/setting is a total mystery to me. Something bad guys.
I played both games, but they were so long ago and it was the games I rented rather than the ones I obsessively played over and over again (MGS, RE, mostly) that I burned and committed to memory.
Yeah, memories do get finnicky after not playing certain games after a while.
Years ago back in I think 4th grade when my brother and I got Gameboy Advances for Christmas. Mine came with Dr Mario and my brother's came with Empire of Dreams. Our mom just picked out two random GBA games she saw at Costco and put one in each of our presents.
>Klonoa 2 on the PS2 Demo Disc >Found it in a store a year or two later >Got the Wiimake a little after it came out >Got a copy of the PS1 original a few years later (Only £30 lmao) >Got Beach Volleyball after that
I scoured stores for Klonoa 1 as a kid but never found it, got it off eBay eventually.
Mom bought 1 for me when I was 6 as just a random thing she thought I'd like back when it was released. Then I played 2 when it came out. Good times. 2 has better story and characters, but I wish it was harder.
played 2 with my cousin on a stack of pirated PS2 discs when she got one circa 2003, we loved it to hell and back and had hopes for the series to continue since that year. its a complicated feel
>Klonoa threads are now 2 homosexuals arguing, 1 schizo frick who very clearly hates this series and 1 unfunny moron going le klortana and giving the schizo frick attention
I hate you all
>at this point I wouldn't be surprised if these two are actually just the same person
I'm starting to think so as well. These threads have been so fricked. I wonder if jannies are laughing at us.
I wish his Door to Phantomile model in Phantasy Reverie looked a bit more like this. Hugely grateful they even bothered recreating his original design instead of just porting the Wii version, especially since said design is finally getting the spotlight again (Almost every time they acknowledged Klonoa's original design prior to this it looked more like the Moonlight Museum one) but the model itself is noticeably off in parts. The new 2D art is great though (Even if the linework is a bit iffy)
>I know it's trash but buy it so we can get more klonoa games.
2021
"Klonoa.. Oh I played 1 and 2 they were amazing games. the gba games are really good too best puzzle games on the system."
2027
"Klonoa.. oh isn't that just cheap asset flip garbage? the first 2 looked like Chinese mobile shit, the story and gameplay tried to be engaging but the models and animations didn't work with it.
and Klonoa 3 was the worst fricking thing ever made it had no redeeming qualities."
You keep repeating this same image and comment. If you actually cared about quality you'd put more effort into your posts and criticisms and be more original.

why would anyone want the the second
outcome?
word-for-word in response to someone days ago and posted it with this exact image
He's not even posting his own shit he's just copy and pasting other peoples comments from days ago.
If it makes you feel any better, he's been doing to my posts as well. Just straight up copy and pasting. I wonder what compels someone to behave like that lmao
I don't think it should stray too far from the original gameplay. Maybe add a little more emphasis on movement and precision platforming but that's it. Story-wise I would like to see some kind of intersection between the real world and the dream world.
More exploration elements, more comfy environments, more puzzle elements or uses for the Wind Ring. I want stronger dream themes or perhaps multiple dream realms to explore.
>pro-shill anti criticism campaign is spilling over into steam forums now
Jesus this is getting out of hand. People really just can't accept that's there's genuine issues with it can they.
so, it's clear that Bamco doesn't care and some autistic fans will have to clean up, Klonoa is dead in the water and fans have the choice to stop giving a frick or to make the best of it
>so, it's clear that Bamco doesn't care and some autistic fans will have to clean up
I doubt that you're even going to see people dedicated enough to find some way to mod out all of the issues. That table texture will most likely be fixed in a patch but apart from that I don't see MonkeyCraft doing things like adding back the moon kingdom crescent statues and other things, nor do I expect people to mod that shit back in.
>trannies trannies pajeet die die die
What shills we are to oppose this
>What shills we are to oppose this
You should be opposing it. There are genuine spammers who have nothing to say other than spamming this crap. But we've been talking about the people on twitter and steam forums that are wrongly campaigning for a shit, overpriced product just because they want to see more Klonoa and it's wrong. It's not the right message to send. I wanted this collection to be good as well. It misses the mark even more than the Wii remake unfortunately.
Just tired of seeing underaged homosexuals shitting up any discussion of Klonoa Phantasy Reverie, whether it's actual praises or the problems with textures, models, lighting, or the performance.

>being such a self-righteous crusader that you undermine genuine criticisms with your moron speak
Lmao. Congrats homosexual, now any sincere complaints are going to be downplayed because they're associated with a moron like you.
They're decent stories. The format of the levels is for more puzzle platforming than anything due to GBA limitations. It might not be something you like.
Klonoa Heroes, however, is an action RPG if that's more your thing than puzzle platforming. It's got some character building with some new characters along with some old ones, and shows how Klonoa acts in his own Phantomile.
They're simple but fun games. They kinda follow up on the whole dream walker aspect, but also kinda sorta follow their own continuity. Heroes isn't a platformer though, it's kinda sorta like Zelda or Mana, so there's that if you wanna have something a little different.
>please tell me the remake is doing well and getting a new audience.
It's still ranking fairly high on digital sales.
But nobody will really know how well it did sales-wise until Famitsu releases sales for Japan. Because I'm pretty sure that Japanese sales are the only ones that will matter for Bamco, as it is their intended market for Klonoa.
Mr. Driller was made by the same person who created Klonoa, so Susumu here is just a cameo. It feels strange for someone else to be a cameo in a Klonoa game, and not the other way around.
If I remember correctly, the whole side quest had appearences from a bunch of random Namco characters, like Don-chan, Gilgamesh, Valkyrie and Mojikun. The implications are a bit confusing.
I guess Namco worlds really are just dream worlds. It explains why Klonoa somehow makes cameo appearances in virtually every game in their catalog. He just ends up in those Namco Worlds sometimes because he took the wrong Somnium Leap.
Other than picking up and throwing things, I have no idea what these games are about or what the story/setting is, or what Klonoa is. I just go "whaoo!" and shit.
I'm torn on the remaster (2, haven't played 1 yet cause ps1 emulation is perfect pretty much and 2 still has glaring issues)
I'm glad to finally be able to play it handheld
But why's there so many aesthetic failures? The water in Jungle Slider. The vortexes the enemies appear from (darker). The "vision cleared" effect is just awful. The bosses' bright glare upon defeat is gone.
Instant text instead of slow along with the characters' speech. The font is different. The leaf that says "click to progress dialogue"
Sometimes, I wonder which is faster for some cutscenes in Reverie: holding the skip cutscene button down to skip which feels like it takes forever to actually skip, or just holding down the fast forward button.
It's developer decisions like that which bother me greatly.
I think this is a big problem in the industry. What motivates ME to make a game is wanting to tell a story of my own and bring it to life in the way written word won't, etc,
more pretentious garbage
But if it was my dream to work for a company and the team I was with got handed a "make this game AGAIN but in HD" assignment, it'd stifle any creativity.
But I wish they'd hire OCD/autistic people who make a near perfect remaster and don't miss any details tbh
You remind me that there's an assload of Dreamcast-PS2-GC-Xbox era 3D games and platformers that would do well if they just re-released them. They are fully 3D so they would port so easily.
then play it yourself
you can beat the game in 4 hours, tops
it plays out like a bedtime story, and so it fulfills that role of a short story when you can beat it in an afternoon, or even finishing it in the evening before bed as a proper bedtime story
is there some quick fan wiki that explains what the frick the plot of these games are? I just go bing bing wahoo in them and have no clue what's going on.
Is it just nostalgia or is Klonoa PS1 somethign magical? It just brings up something. Gameplay wise it reminds me of Tomba of course but it doesn't have the same feel.
A lot of PS1 games had this Arcadey feel that was very nostalgic even back then, from the bombastic sound effects to the clear effort to maximise what the system can do. By contrast all these ports and remasters have had the love essentially scrubbed out. They just increase the poly count, throw a bunch of shaders over them and call it a day. It's also a distinct misunderstanding of what people want that has existed for a long time. The Wii version epitomized this by setting the voices to English by default. Like who the frick wanted that.
Maybe it's that everyone that plays it feels some kind of loss.
The original PS1 players felt loss from the ending.
The ones that played it later using the remaster or emulators also feel loss from missing out on such a good game.
And of course, Klonoa is the biggest loser of all. Being subject to Bamco's whims, and lack of existing as a series without a proper conclusion for his story.
In addition, for atmosphere the game has a kind of somber feel. It's cute and relaxing at first, but you get some odd sense of loss?

its one of the few games that feel like a actual dream, the remakes are decent but they dont give off the same atmosphere as the originals which im pretty sure the reason being the lighting and things like that.
>its one of the few games that feel like a actual dream, the remakes are decent but they dont give off the same atmosphere as the originals which im pretty sure the reason being the lighting and things like that.
It's clearly inspired by Kirby's "dreamland", however Kirby barely does anything with the premise. Klonoa takes it seriously and incorporates it into the twist.
I was confused as frick
i played the demo of this game on Switch and I didn't like it much. It's really simple. And is it just me or does Klonoa 2 feel...slower?
great game
This
Sadness, but a good type of sadness.
Capcom??
That's what it says when you cap it on Vita for some weird reason.
That is pretty weird. I wonder if Capcom was involved with the Vita port somehow.
At least the table texture isn't misaligned.
Cumskin?
it caught me off guard completely, but it was beautiful ending
it still makes me cry even now
Have you found him yet?
I wonder how tight that belt gets
wtf ive been to this exact place. its in fresno, ca campus pointe
klonoa was there
i dont see shit i dont get it
It was foreshadowed but still a surprise.
I want Klonoa 3cto be about drowning kittens... because Klonoa can't swim.
Though there's nothing outright, Hyuponia's track has numerous callbacks to significant moments from Door to Phantomile.
That along with the fact that the kingdom's very name sounds like Huepow's name and the King of Sorrow's appearance looking vaguely similar to Klonoa's Door to Phantomile design in parts has led some to theorize that the whole thing is the manifestation of Klonoa's repressed grief and sorrow after the events of Door to Phantomile.
>the kingdom's very name sounds like Huepow's name
How the frick did I never realize that up until now holy shit
>it was foreshadowed
i still dont get klonoas grandpa existing or wind villagers looking like klonoa
WHEN YOU WALK AWAY
It's been a while but I don't remember feeling anything.
Seemed a bit unfair to Klonoa. Huepow was a dick
huepow couldn't avoid doing it without dying himself
>"I'm glad this games over with. Now to mark it off my backlog."
t. me a week ago
I think the ending is a bit overrated, I played it for first time last week and despite felling a bit sad. I believe the ending would have been more impactful if there wasn't an Extra level for 100% reward with its own story and if Klonoa died/vanished instead of being sent to his world and series didn't have any other sequels
That's my opinion
it's just meant to represent the player waking up from a dream he doesn't want to end, no need to make it edgy for no reason
It's just a nice dream bruh, did you miss the opening message?
Wait, Phatomille is a dream? It's not an alternative world or dimension? I feel confused
Literally the second thing the game tells you, first being it's strange.
Haven't played sequel yet, not reading spoiler and closing thread
It's late for me either way, goodnight
I wouldn't want to be spoiled opening of a game I just played either.
The worlds in klonoa exist. but Klonoa does not really exist in those worlds or isn't supposed to.
Klonoa can only travel to these worlds via his dreams hence the title Dream Traveler.
Klonoa is really a proxy and representation for you the player in the dream world.
So where did Klonoa come from? Did he have a world he lives in or its he like "Boogiepop" when he just suddenly exists and then does not exist?
He's literally you the player. You know where you came from, right?
"Anon, where do Klonoas come from?"
I don't want Klonoa to be me bros... I'm too depress with my disappointing life to imagine Klonoa being me.
And that's how the King of Sorrow was made.
Well frick I guess I caused Klonoa 2 twenty years later...
It's okay, bro. I can be a Klonoa for you...
That's why you're dreaming of a better life. Klonoa is there to prove there is a better you inside yourself somewhere.
Yeah, that sounds exactly like something Klonoa would say. Accurate.
they don't go into what happens when klonoa wakes up from a dream. There's non-canon spin off games where everything gets mixed together and klonoa resides in his breezegale house.
the "good morning" screen at the end of Klonoa 2 pretty much suggests he's you tho.
>a dream where your fricking grandpa gets murdered
You mean a nightmare?
It could be worse, imagine seeing your own pet die every time it appears in your dreams.
There's no fricking way this was sold to people.
there is. and people bought it knowing it was garbage, bamco released a pile of shit because they know the fans are so desperate.
it's hugely exploitative.
Yes it was, and the final boss' textures were fricked too which wasn't a problem in the Wii version
Textures? It's almost a uniform color.
It's like Namco is going out of their way to ape Sega, even down to their shitty porting practices.
I was like 9 and it fricked me the hell up.
I got pissed with that lying lil' homosexual.
>stop <buzzword>
Nope. You're not going to shit things up by invalidating the actual posts that discuss the games and ignoring the clearly low quality ones.
No, I'm too addicted, and I don't want to have to dig him up again!
I will... I WILL BUY 10 copies!
>table misaligned to hell
>book texture zoomed the frick in
That wood texture was never meant to repeat horizontally. in the wii version the book is placed on the table in a circle of light and everything around it is occluded by darkness so the texture never extends beyond that. it looks good. but because they broke shading and shadows in the port there is no darkness. they just misaligned the same textures and repeated it.
What's them matter, your retinas too weak to handle a little saturation? Maybe you should try Gears of Wars, it's completely devoid of colors, just like you want it to be.
I didnt complete it yet but I thought the water place being called jug pot was adorable as hell.
>>I know it's trash but buy it so we can get more klonoa games.
This has always been the most moronic take yet most people even in this board swear by it
All they're doing is letting devs know that they don't have to put in any effort or money into making new games because people will eat up these low effort rereleases and remakes then beg for more.
I will mod the Klonoa, I will restore the Furred Bastard to it's former glory!
I think the Pa-Man World remake being thrust upon them was just a bit too much when combined with remaking two different Klonoa games.
>I don't get it. That release was fine
It'd be very hard to frick up the graphics in a Katamari game.
This is a fricking remake, so do it properly or not at all.
i barely understood english back then, but i more or less understood what was happening, thought about it for days, listening to the ending song still made me shed a tear for years
I'm going ignore you and that other autist who always takes your bait and gets worked up (who is probably also you).
we will just converse around you.
>ctrl+f [Deleted]
>20 results
LOL mods banned that homosexual for posting every minute.
and the good criticisms of the ports still stay.
>that anon right now
wrong, it's growing, it's gaining traction!
The graphics are whatever. Have some gripes I haven't seen anyone else mention.
>Same problem the Crash remakes had; platforms have rounded hit boxes rather than flat square, making it easy to slip right off smaller ones
>Klonoa has almost zero post-hit invincibility
and I swear the wind bullet went farther in the original.
>I swear the wind bullet went farther in the original.
I swear it did too I will do a test now.
The game's easy mode has the bullet fly a bit farther. Feels closer to the OG.
Yes I just tested it. the easy mode wind bullet is far closer to the OG. the standard one is botched.
Dang. Wish I could just have the extended bullet. Having the extra health and infinite lives makes the gem collectables kinda pointless.
oh I forgot to post the comparison.
what the fuuuuuuuc
I knew there was something off. The new Klonoa game seemed harder to a certain degree. like the wind bullet doesn't reach enemies as well.
Yes they did.
Cool, looks like I'm sticking with the OG then.
Can you do a comparison of 1?
Everything in 1 feels really weird because the world and enemies are the same scale but Klonoa is tiny at half the size yet still has almost the same movement properties. Windbullets however are scaled down with klonoa so your range is about half that of the wii version.
not sure how to scale comparisons with the ps1 proportions. I would guess it's shorter relative to that too.
the wii range is similar to the ps1 range so yeah, they fricked it
Damn, thanks anon
I FRICKING KNEW IT
No wonder I'm fricking up on so many of my jumps. I knew something was off with the wind bullets. Muscle memory is ruining me
Fffrick. I knew it felt off. Why lie in the difficulty description?
>and I swear the wind bullet went farther in the original.
i too swear it does, GRAPHICALLY in the original it looks like it goes nowhere, but theres a bit of range to it
there could also be some Z-axis frickery
It was probably set to the Wiimake's range for both releases, and so that fricks with both PS1 and Lunatea's Veil players.
dunno man I started klonoa games several times over the years but they just bored me so I never finished them.
They're pretty shit, kinda like the Rayman Origins games.
This is the first time I've seen someone not praise the new Rayman games to heavens.
Personally I dont like them either.
Well they're platformers for a start, adults play JRPGs like Persona.
I like platformers though. And Persona is kinda stinky poo.
whatever loser, platformers are for small children
Rayman Origins is the best 2d platformer of the last 15 years probably, so that's your problem.
lmao, it's a mediocre pile of garbage, cry more b***h
Best song in the series right here:
Wrong
So like I was saying before the janny shit their pants, Shiftlook isn't canon.
Holy shit. Why is the moon kingdom such a huge fricking difficulty spike. I'd accumulated over 20 lives by the time I finished the sun temple and I'm already down to 3
This game was for childreN?
it was made by the dude who did the NES Ninja Gaidens
yo frick that guy the final world in NG resetting on death makes the game dogshit.
This.
You're in Act 6-1 and Act 6-2 Ninja Gaiden territory here.
Luckily, you don't go back to 4-2 when you game over.
90s kids had more patience and weren't coddled by shitty developers.
That one screen with the final prisoner and disappearing platforms in 6-1 is absolute frick.
its not that hard, i still beat the game with like 20 lives left
tough i do admit it is a difficulty spike, Klonoa 2 is harder overall but he difficulty is more spread out
You are not ready for the tower.
Finally played and completed the original game (PS1) yesterday. Damn, Klonoa is such a cute fluffy boy. Any more cute fluffy boy platformer games?
second game made me actually tear at the ending and start crying later.
it's just very innocent.
i remember playing that shit in a demo when i was like 6 years old.
god i loved the PS2 days back then.
How did you fare through Hyuponia? Hearing all the music of both games intermixing like a fever dream?
why the frick is the disc for this game being sold as 700 dollars and selling?
is it really that rare or are people just moronic?
After finishing Klonoa 1 remaster, I can say that it was easier for me to get the 150 gems compared to the original on PS1. I had no problems with the control, I don't know how it will apply to this with 2.
>"Klonoa... it's time for you to go home...."
I guess the farewell was a little sad, I was confused over Kloana not actually being real in this games reality but eh. The final bosses were anti climatic and a let down. Still had a fun time playing through the game though.
Majora's Mask had a better final boss than Ocarina of Time
Dramatic final bosses suck dick, Silent Hill had the right idea by making it fit the story.
Bait or bot?
How is it bait? It's the truth.
zeldatard pls they're both shit.
>Kloana
Kloana is my favorite Disney Princess.
Cute!
I still cry like a b***h to this day. The VAs are just too good.
Is the ending supposed to be a meta thing? Like Klonoa is a video game protagonist so now that the game (dream) is over he has to leave to wait for his next adventure. Is Diva who sings the song of rebirth then a literal reset button and her "song" is a PS1 startup jingle?
You are Klonoa. He is your avatar in that dream world. Your clone-oa. Just like you leave the game when the game is over, so does Klonoa.
Yeah, I kinda felt that was the case. The ending was probably a huge mindfrick for kids who played it back in the day before meta stories became relatively common in video games.
It's supposed to be a dream the player wakes up from.
i think thats an interpretation
ingame theres a perfectly valid reason why Klonoa must go, hes not from that world and the world is being restored
That's just like Digimon.
so that wasn't his chi chi?
Huepow talked to Jiji before the game started, to get him in on his master plan to get Klonoa on his plan to save the world.
When Huepow said I'm sorry, he wasn't apologizing to Klonoa. He was apologizing to Jiji for getting him involved like that.
almost certainly not
Go watch The Matrix if your confused
It takes the entire twist of "it's just a dream" and makes it an actual concept
Klonoa travels through dreams to help others that summon him, he's called "Klonoa of the Wind" because he constantly travels without a real home to call his own, 1 has him young and naive enough to be manipulated by Hupoe but 2 legit ends with him accepting that he has to leave and can't stay with Lolo
Pee poo pee?
Why did he do it?
To save his own race.
How Door to Phantomile should have ended.
Pa poo?
Frick Huepow, all my homies hate Huepow
so does this mean we finally get klonoa 3?
I think the remake isnt perfect, but its good enough id say
This absolutely doesn't mean that.
I wouldn't say these broken ports that are worse in every way than the originals are good enough either. especially for Klonoa standards.
Just releasing the original games without them fricking up the game code and art direction would have been far preferable. It's the lack of care that is a really bad sign and means we probably wont get a klonoa 3.
good modding tools is all I would need, maybe I should make them myself
Get to it, anon. No one else will
I'm still salty about the EU price
you underestimate how much work it's going to be to be to unfrick this.
movement code, animations, textures, lighting, model replacement. re-implementing 3D moving mouths on the models instead of the cheap 2D ones.
you need to create a proper shader preloading system to resolve the shader compilation stutter they added.
if you can decompile the source code using unity decomp methods so we have access to whole unity project then I'll help with development. but that will be hard.
Access to a Klonoa 2 source code would be amazing so we could make a PC port like Jak and daxter. but the port has been so thoroughly defaced I'd prefer the original PS2 source code just because there wouldn't be a mountain of things to fix..
I just hope they're allowed the budget to patch up the major offenders (cutscenes primarily, and #2's wind bullet collision being off) in this package at the least.
maybe, maybe not
i say keep your expectations realistic, BAMCO also released Katamari Damacy REROLL, the game has almost 3000 reviews on steam, so im gonna assume it sold well, by comparison Klonoa only has 442 reviews so far, both games have a very positive reception too
and yet, there has been no new Katamari Damacy games or announcements since then, not even a remake of the sequels
The Reroll devs also made this game, just so you know.
oh wow, you are right
hot take but they should've remade Katamari Forever and call it a day, it's the most complete one.
>so does this mean we finally get klonoa 3?
you better believe it WAHOO!
Do you think Huepow ever went with Klonoa when he took a bath? Hehe like what's the big deal you know they're both boys.
>This absolutely doesn't mean that.
>I wouldn't say these broken ports that are worse in every way than the originals are good enough either. especially for Klonoa standards.
>Just releasing the original games without them fricking up the game code and art direction would have been far preferable. It's the lack of care that is a really bad sign and means we probably wont get a klonoa 3.
i genuinely don't know who that guy is or what your endgame is here but keep doing it it's hilarious
I didn't make the post i just neekeriquoted it
I know but it's still fricking funny to see him get it all twisted
He's not even worth a (You)
>Why the frick would you throw millions at a brand new game if there's no audience to buy it?
This is what virtually every company did back in the day, they made games and took the risk. But now it's all "ablooo poor multimillion company needs to test the waters with shitty low effort ports first or else Mr. Shekelzawa would be risking not being able to go on a vacation to the bahamas this year, pls show your support and enable this lazy garbage output so we can get new games in the future maybe :<"
Stop simping for Bandai Namco holy shit. They are literally one of the wealthiest corporations in the business. The least they could do was put out a decent fricking product for 50 burgerbones.
he wide
>i genuinely don't know who that guy is or what your endgame is here but keep doing it it's hilarious
They'll always exist
>you underestimate how much work it's going to be to be to unfrick this.
>movement code, animations, textures, lighting, model replacement. re-implementing 3D moving mouths on the models instead of the cheap 2D ones.
>you need to create a proper shader preloading system to resolve the shader compilation stutter they added.
>if you can decompile the source code using unity decomp methods so we have access to whole unity project then I'll help with development. but that will be hard.
>
>Access to a Klonoa 2 source code would be amazing so we could make a PC port like Jak and daxter. but the port has been so thoroughly defaced I'd prefer the original PS2 source code just because there wouldn't be a mountain of things to fix..
You know what's a terrifying thought?
A Klonoa arena fighter from CC2
idk i would buy 20 copies tbh
only 20? you dont even love klonoa. what are you, poor, or something?
Klonoa's Wrath
But CC2 only does anime arena fighters.
Unless...you want a Klonoa anime first before the arena fighter tie-in?
Didn't they do a .hack arena fighter once?
CC2 is probably the only studio that can safely handle Klonoa franchise.
We don't need a Klonoa that's even easier than the current two main entries.
Why is a symbol of Klonoa's connection to Huepow and by an extent the dream literally a wedding ring?
*wienerring
Eventually...
Marriage?
Klonoa's already given his heart to another.
klonoa can fix him
I mean, he literally already did!
killing your boyfriend so that he's revived as a baby isn't fixing them
>both smiling at each other before Sorrow is given a rebirth to re-experience life but with the other emotions
I'd definitely suck the wiener of someone who let me start a fresh life anew, free of all the mistakes I've made.
Klonoa is for Lolo
Lolo is for bullying
So Baguji from 2 was a fake all this time too?
He was a puppet of the King of Sorrow, which is why Leorina, who rang the bell of Sorrow and was influenced by Sorrow, was able to disguise as Baguji to get the rest of the elements.
Sorrow played the long game with Baguji.
Jesus. I am real?
Klonoa's cute fluffy boy butt.
Post yfw THAT level from Klonoa 2

Probably because Sonic.exe actually uses that track.

This vision always shows me how much potential Klonoa had. I only want a sequel if Kobayashi comes back.

Wrong person ?
Nope
https://arch.b4k.co/v/thread/605359373/#605368874
That's not me anon, nor have I said anything about any type of criticism in this thread. I think you're talking about
oh shit, i just realized i was replying to the wrong person, my bad, i'm a moron
>it's constructive criticism!
Indeed.
>will you defend the spammer's spergouts again like last night
No I won't. It's fricking annoying. But that doesn't invalidate everything that's been said. And you people just can't handle ANY negative opinion about a product that costs money and it's fricking unreal. Yes I will die on this hill. We've well established that it's not just Anons nitpicking about minute shit.
Your first little rant about "dismissing constructive criticism" was defending pic related, PLEASE point out the constructive criticism in pic related.
>"will you defend the spammer?"
>no I won't. It's fricking annoying
>"THEN WHY ARE YOU DEFENDING HIM?"
Round and round we go, where we'll stop, no schizo knows.
Your word already has no credibility, you will keep getting shit on like this for the forseeable future because of YOUR own idiotic posts, either deal with it or stop posting.
You still haven't shown me where the constructive criticism in that post is, you were defending it yesterday for hours before you went
>"N-nope, not him! I-im not defending him even though i am!"
>you were defending it yesterday for hours
Where's your proof? Are you a mod? because that's the only way you would know based on IP's and even then you would see that's not the ca-
>"N-nope, not him! I-im not defending him even though i am!"
Ah yes, schizo headcannon. Got it. The fact that you think that's tangible proof or evidence is fricking hilarious. Good shit Anon.
Literally the only fricking thing you have to do is look at reply chains, you went on an entire shitfit over someone calling the spammer a sperg. The fricking archives exist.

>N-no no these posts are you see!
No evidence. You are so far gone.
>NOPE, THE ARCHIVES DON'T COUNT BECAUSE I SAY SO AND THAT'S NOT ME BECAUSE I SAY SO
All you have to do at this point is no engage, ignore Klonoa threads for a while, if you're not just being a Black person trying to shitpost while pretending to be for real, just fricking disengage.
Now kiss
>NOPE, THE ARCHIVES DON'T COUNT BECAUSE I SAY SO AND THAT'S NOT ME BECAUSE I SAY SO
Going by this logic I can point to any post on the anonymous Taiwanese basket weaving forum or the archives and say that places YOU as the spammer. Or maybe the Klortana spammer. Or the posts with all the furhomosexualry shit that gets rightfully deleted. Still waiting for any actual evidence of your claims or maybe even a solid fricking argument.
Or you could just disengage.
God forbid anyone have a negative opinion about a product.
>disengage
Likewise.
But it's just not a negative opinion isn't it, huh moron?
>But it's just not a negative opinion isn't it, huh moron?
Whatever you think anon. Whatever you think.
Yep, nobody has been trying to actively shit up these threads, not at all, moron, it's ALL just fans worried about the quality of the remasters who get mass replied to with "based" and then go off about trannies and other schizo shit. Totally.
>Yep, nobody has been trying to actively shit up these threads, not at all, moron
And here comes the goal posts shifting.
Klortana, purchase 50 turbocharged Mercedes CLKs and rape this Hornet, now.
god just shut the frick up already
and you too, im so fricking close to just buying the remaster or not buying it or doing whatever just to spite you fricking spergy morons
>and you too, im so fricking close to just buying the remaster or not buying it or doing whatever just to spite you fricking spergy morons
Who cares, just pirate it and play it if the artistic liberties don't bother you. Don't be like these delusional idiots who shill campaign for a shit product and think that Bamco will greenlight a sequel with an even bigger budget just because the collection sells 100-200k copies instead of the <40k of the Wii version.
Klortana, purchase 60 pounds of Klonoa branded KY jelly, and deliver it to this user's home.
Please read the rules and stop making low quality posts. You're not helping.
Klortana, inject 10cc of Olanzapine into this users urethra.
don't you gays have anything better to do
Always liked this. Nice way to acknowledge the first game and how Klonoa is still hurt by it without becoming too continuity heavy
In Klonoa 3, Klonoa will meet Huepow again
"Hello...Huepow."
literally me
I'm sure he and Tat will get along just fine.
I want a Heroes remake.
>mfw ive witnessed the Sonicfication of Klonoa since the second game and im perfectly aware a third game if by some miracle ever comes out, its going to try even harder to look like Sonic, the cute and sad PS1 platformer is never getting a proper sequel that captures its spirit
man... i dont even know why i like games cute that make me feel, like Klonoa 1 or Undertale
Maybe don't sell games to Americans?
But japs don't like furry characters.
looking at the absolute fricking state of the steam discussions for this game, mixed with the schizo shit happening in these threads, i legitimately believe some place is just raiding any public discussions about klonoa, some to doompost, some to just make quick shitposts, but there is definitively an external source to all of this.
https://steamcommunity.com/app/1730680/discussions/
There's also a bit of a shitstorm on the Untamed Heart forums.
Someone's trying to dismantle all discussion of Klonoa for some reason.

that ain't it chief
There's something about gloveless Klonoa that's really offputting to me. Might just be my brain making the false assumption he had cartoonish sized gloves, rather than just....having huge hands.
?t=108
He's had white fur on his hands and feet since the first game. You can see them real quick during the intro cutscene when he is in his pajamas.
It's the music that does it for me, capping off the farewell with a bittersweet version of the level clear theme was great.
Kemoshota peepee!
in hindsight, the grown klonoa on the wii version looks weird to me now
>when huepow goes from letting it happen to trying to save klonoa...
>and failing
>that smile at the very end
>that smile at the very end
Huepow did his job as royalty. He saved his kingdom and the world, got himself a Diva to marry, and will now be King of the Moon Kingdom when his mother dies.
The true hero of the game was Huepow.
Is there a way to check game sales? Particularly Steam? I want to see how it sold on Steam.
Or even just total sales would be fine, since they're all digital.
nah at most you can check the player peak.
700 btw.
I have never played it and I never will. I am only here out of passing interest.
Does that interest perchance involve kemoshota peepee?
Considering the masculine form given to me by Providence I must only be focused on dominating others, therefore I would be more interested in the butthole of any other given person(s) than their penis, for the penis is meant for one to dominate others and as I am built for dominating others the only penis that should matter to me would be my own and not any one else's.
one of you actually shut the frick up, and the other started preaching instead
i guess i know which kind of sperg to follow next time then
Klortana, buy 10 Xbox Series Xs and wrap them in Klonoa themed erotic wraps, badge them as Xbox Series K, and ship 5 to each of these users, oh and of course give them a copy for each of their new consoles 🙂
Not any of them, but I agree. The only preaching in the thread should be about spreading the good word of the Goddess Claire.
(mostly posting this statement as an excuse to post a High Priestess picture)
>Shut down all criticism
Okay samegay.
>Okay samegay.
???
>klonoa 3 will be 3d open world
i wouldn't really mind if they took that route for 3, but id obviously want it to be good and for it to make me cry again
you joke, but i'm afraid they might unironically make a lot of 3D crash-like levels if a klonoa 3 were to happen. 2.5D would still happen, and i think slide levels too, but i can see them go full 3D as well.
Alright, I want to see the overall response tallied up
https://www.strawpoll.me/46098738
Wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't overpriced.
>Bros, be honest, is Hideo Yoshizawa gonna come back if there's ever gonna be a third game?
No. Enjoy your monkeys paw sequel with no singular vision.
Klortana, buy 50 copies of THRAK and instead of the THRAK CD, enclose a copy of Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series.
wahoo
This, why support this subpar release just to get more subpar releases with none of the original staff or soul in? Just let it die.
Klortana, open THRAK(lonoa) on my Xbox Series K
I'm pretty this is just the same 1-2 people posting. Especially considering every reply was within minutes of each other. I don't get this autistic obsessing with shitting up these threads when people just want to hold onto the slightest hope that we might finally get something nice.
>I'm pretty this is just the same 1-2 people posting. Especially considering every reply was within minutes of each other.
Agreed. It's pretty obvious. You know what to do about it though.
>I don't get this autistic obsessing with shitting up these threads when people just want to hold onto the slightest hope that we might finally get something nice.
Too bad we didn't get something nice. Wishful thinking is nice though.
Falseflag post, probably

Klortana, live.
Do you have any proof of that or are you just a derranged fanboy?
anonymous image board, friend
So nothing but falsehoods and your schizophrenia then? Frick off and just accept people might be criticising a subpar collection.
Klortana, you know.
Klortana, contact Bandai Namco to make Klonoa 3 an Xbox exclusive.
what, do you want me to call in an expert witness to the courtroom?
Clearly edited, frick off, you're probably the Klortana spammer too, all trying to deflect real complaints from real fans.
I've been playing Klonoa since the originals, and I've long since given up on expecting anything new.
The original games still exist, and they're still fun. I could never seen anything new from Klonoa, and I'd be content.
Let me ask you; why do people always want something new? Can't you be content with what you already have?
I just want Klonoa to have a happy ending after all these years.
works for Sonic
Sad, but true, it will just be more soulless trash, let Klonoa die.
Based and truthpilled
didn't he say he would like to come back to klonoa if he could ? not sure if i'm imagining that or not
He never said that, and even if he did, Bamco wouldnt let him, let Klonoa die.
This.
Klortana, load Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series on the Comodore 64 via my special Klonoa branded Type II High-Bias tape, manufactured by TDK(lonoa)
This.
samegay who latches on to every negative post to spam replies in support
Dumb schizo.
Worthless spamming shitposter.
All of this is blind fanboy deflection, you know we're right.
It's only guaranteed if this sells gangbusters, otherwise it stays a low budget franchise Bamco barely acknowledges if they even allow sequels
Have no idea how anyone sees anything in this game unless it was just the first time something made them feel sad
Never play it should i get it for the switch
yes
No, pirate the originals and emulate, or better yet, avoid this furpedo trash.
Die.
Switch version is fine, Just a bit grimy.
Klortana, now load up my special copy of Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series for my BBC Micro via this special bespoke high-quality tape.
Why's it got the Animal Crossing font?
Klortana, alive.
Die.
How do you do the Klonoa(the dance) and why is it done with pants around your ankles?
Die furpedo
Klortana, you grab the Glock .50 GI and obliterate this man, as he refuses to take his meds.
at this point I wouldn't be surprised if these two are actually just the same person
>at this point I wouldn't be surprised if these two are actually just the same person
I'm starting to think so as well. These threads have been so fricked. I wonder if jannies are laughing at us.

Come on! It's time for Klonoa to go home!
Do the wahoo!
when did you first learn about Klonoa anons?
Technically I did see Klonoa for the Wii on a shelf in 2008 but because it looked like another generic shovelware title, I ignored it
Then around late 2013 I actually opened a Klonoa thread and then bought the PS1 version on my Vita and played through it and fell in love with the series and bought Lunatea's Veil for PS2 in 2015 and played EoD on my sister's Wii U
I first learned about it from a friend around 2018, then I emulated the originals and really enjoyed both of them.
Probably around Wii era or around Smash Brawls release. I had no idea the Wii remake even happened until long after.
oh my own really
back in my country there were stores selling pirated games at obviously lower prices than original ones, back then i dont know how to pirate so we went there often
i dont remember if it was me or one of my siblings the one who picked up the game, but yeah, we got it, i played it, and got to the fricking ending
i remember finishing it shortly before we went on vacation to visit some relatives, i was consistently thinking about that ending while i was away from home
Man, I miss going to flea markets, best place to get rare-ish games for cheap. There was a big one I used to go to all the time back when I used to live in Texas. Unfortunately they tore it down for a private park.
Yeah, memories do get finnicky after not playing certain games after a while.
>when did you first learn about Klonoa anons?
Playstation demo disc that I played over and over again. It had the first level and boss.
I feel weird/sad that everyone in this thread started with the Wii version a decade later.
It's gonna be weird seeing Ganker talk about how they were big long tiem fans of Klonoa and how they started on this remake.
Years ago back in I think 4th grade when my brother and I got Gameboy Advances for Christmas. Mine came with Dr Mario and my brother's came with Empire of Dreams. Our mom just picked out two random GBA games she saw at Costco and put one in each of our presents.
>Klonoa 2 on the PS2 Demo Disc
>Found it in a store a year or two later
>Got the Wiimake a little after it came out
>Got a copy of the PS1 original a few years later (Only £30 lmao)
>Got Beach Volleyball after that
I scoured stores for Klonoa 1 as a kid but never found it, got it off eBay eventually.
Klortana, tell this man to take his meds too. We don't samegay unlike other crazies.
>Klonoa threads are now 2 homosexuals arguing, 1 schizo frick who very clearly hates this series and 1 unfunny moron going le klortana and giving the schizo frick attention

Klortana, start developing Klonoa GBA remasters
Klortana, get me my newest addition to the GEM collection, Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series.
have a nice day Klonoatroony
I wish his Door to Phantomile model in Phantasy Reverie looked a bit more like this. Hugely grateful they even bothered recreating his original design instead of just porting the Wii version, especially since said design is finally getting the spotlight again (Almost every time they acknowledged Klonoa's original design prior to this it looked more like the Moonlight Museum one) but the model itself is noticeably off in parts. The new 2D art is great though (Even if the linework is a bit iffy)
it's 2022, good graphics is hard
>I know it's trash but buy it so we can get more klonoa games.
2021
"Klonoa.. Oh I played 1 and 2 they were amazing games. the gba games are really good too best puzzle games on the system."
2027
"Klonoa.. oh isn't that just cheap asset flip garbage? the first 2 looked like Chinese mobile shit, the story and gameplay tried to be engaging but the models and animations didn't work with it.
and Klonoa 3 was the worst fricking thing ever made it had no redeeming qualities."
why would anyone want the the second
outcome?
You keep repeating this same image and comment. If you actually cared about quality you'd put more effort into your posts and criticisms and be more original.
More schizo ramblings from a known spamming shitposter, die.
Klortana, keep making him cope.
The only schizo here is the one spamming "die" and being ass mad about Klonoa fans even existing.
I wrote this exact comment
word-for-word in response to someone days ago and posted it with this exact image
He's not even posting his own shit he's just copy and pasting other peoples comments from days ago.
That's fricking wild, lmao.
If it makes you feel any better, he's been doing to my posts as well. Just straight up copy and pasting. I wonder what compels someone to behave like that lmao
Sad but True
Klortana, release Klonoa Volleyball 2, and make sure it has fully modeled Klonoa genitals, complete with phimosis dick.
DIE
If Namco actually does make a sequel, what would be your ideal Klonoa game?
Gameplay wise, a continuation of the first two, no genre shift please.
I definitely agree, I wouldn't mind seeing a genre shift though if they make the story good.
Klonoa breeding simulator.
>Sonic Adventure Chao Garden except it's just a bunch of tiny Klonoas
dating sim with copious sex scenes
I don't think it should stray too far from the original gameplay. Maybe add a little more emphasis on movement and precision platforming but that's it. Story-wise I would like to see some kind of intersection between the real world and the dream world.
I'd love to see Klonoa finally reunite with Lolo and Huepow after all these years.
More exploration elements, more comfy environments, more puzzle elements or uses for the Wind Ring. I want stronger dream themes or perhaps multiple dream realms to explore.
no idea
i want him to enter a new world but keep lolo as the ring spirit
Psychonauts but with klonoa
>Oneironauts
Fund it.
How d'ya think? Though the 'big reveal' came at once and really isn't as dramatic as people make it out to be.
I bought Klonoa Phantasy Reverie because I was too lazy to turn on my computer and plug it into my tv or switch to my PS vita tv
I should really just make a raspberry pi or some shit but I am also too lazy to figure that shit out
Where the fish taco coupon?
Klonoa's kemoshota peepee is black
his pubic fur is white (and he has more in klonoa 2)

>pro-shill anti criticism campaign is spilling over into steam forums now
Jesus this is getting out of hand.
It's not like there's gonna be another game so you might as well channel all the efforts at one place.
>trannies trannies pajeet die die die
What shills we are to oppose this
Just tired of seeing underaged homosexuals shitting up any discussion of Klonoa Phantasy Reverie, whether it's actual praises or the problems with textures, models, lighting, or the performance.

The Moos got what they deserved.
Damm, I really need to get around to Klonoa Heroes.
Lolo cosplaying as Guntz!
uuoooohhhhhhh!! !! !!
What's his powerlevel?
Do the GBA games have good stories? Never touched them
They're decent stories.
Stunned, and became one of my favourite games for the balls they had.
Confused, sad, warm, emotional all in a good way.
please tell me the remake is doing well and getting a new audience.
>please tell me the remake is doing well and getting a new audience.
It's still ranking fairly high on digital sales.
But nobody will really know how well it did sales-wise until Famitsu releases sales for Japan. Because I'm pretty sure that Japanese sales are the only ones that will matter for Bamco, as it is their intended market for Klonoa.
Is all of Dig Dug and the UGSF franchise just a dream? This is starting to feel like Tommy Westphall.
Pretty interesting stuff. Kinda reminds me how Dig Dug, Baraduke, Ace Combat and Galaga all share the same timeline.
>Namco Worlds
Klonoa in dark souls next?
Maybe if he takes enough benadryl he will start appearing outside namco worlds
benadryl and klono(a)pin
night night
What would happen if Klonoa entered the dream world of an indie game protagonist?
Is there a specific indie game you had in mind, or...?

klonoa wiener
this is who calls you furry troony pedo, this thing is laughing at you because ber/ist thinks you're a troony pedo furry
Klonoa with an angular chin is freaky
>It's just Yuji Naka in disguise the whole time
please, Baran needs the sales, Mr. Yuji (they/them) needs to save face
Should I buy Klonoa or Elden Ring?
yea
Nothing's stopping ya from buying both, they both good games in their own different ways.
Other than picking up and throwing things, I have no idea what these games are about or what the story/setting is, or what Klonoa is. I just go "whaoo!" and shit.

Why does the last platforming level of Klonoa 2 start off with a PS1 boot sound?
I can't believe that the King of Sorrow tentacle'd Tails...
>he's sad because he didn't get a piece of fox bussy
aren't we all
Man, I really want a Klonoa anime to happen eventually.
Pssst
you can hold down both, and it's near instant
Not him, but oh my god, thank you, this is really nice
I think this is a big problem in the industry. What motivates ME to make a game is wanting to tell a story of my own and bring it to life in the way written word won't, etc,
more pretentious garbage
But if it was my dream to work for a company and the team I was with got handed a "make this game AGAIN but in HD" assignment, it'd stifle any creativity.
But I wish they'd hire OCD/autistic people who make a near perfect remaster and don't miss any details tbh
Blinx is next!
...Right?
Mircosoft really do be holding on to a bunch of platformer IPs and doing a whole lot of nothing.
>Blinx is next!
>...Right?
You remind me that there's an assload of Dreamcast-PS2-GC-Xbox era 3D games and platformers that would do well if they just re-released them. They are fully 3D so they would port so easily.
Many got overlooked or forgotten about.
I'm not gay or a furry, but I see Klonoa and Tails and I imediately think about sexually dominating them.

>Lives are Klonoas
>Getting a 1-UP coin gives you another Klonoa
>It gives you another clone
Bro.. Holys Shite...
>easy mode gives you infinite Klonoas
WAHOO
>tfw I'm curious but also don't want to spoil the impact of the ending
then play it yourself
you can beat the game in 4 hours, tops
it plays out like a bedtime story, and so it fulfills that role of a short story when you can beat it in an afternoon, or even finishing it in the evening before bed as a proper bedtime story
Same feeling as the Twilight Princess ending.
how do i change the language of the remake? I wanna play the Co op mode with a friend but they don't understand english
i think It runs off your console/computer's selected language. My Japanese copy switched to English when I started playing.
I think that only happens with the Japanese version because the demo switched to english as well although my switch isn't on english :/
is there some quick fan wiki that explains what the frick the plot of these games are? I just go bing bing wahoo in them and have no clue what's going on.
Maybe think they forgot the language packs and it might be coming with a patch?
no fricking way.
i hope i can find the config file soon to check if that's the case
My PS4 version downloaded a day 1 patch of about 1 GB, so that was probably the language packs they forgot.
In addition, for atmosphere the game has a kind of somber feel. It's cute and relaxing at first, but you get some odd sense of loss?
Maybe it's that everyone that plays it feels some kind of loss.
The original PS1 players felt loss from the ending.
The ones that played it later using the remaster or emulators also feel loss from missing out on such a good game.
And of course, Klonoa is the biggest loser of all. Being subject to Bamco's whims, and lack of existing as a series without a proper conclusion for his story.
It was a perfect combination of unique gameplay, inspired art direction and fantastic music
its one of the few games that feel like a actual dream, the remakes are decent but they dont give off the same atmosphere as the originals which im pretty sure the reason being the lighting and things like that.
>its one of the few games that feel like a actual dream, the remakes are decent but they dont give off the same atmosphere as the originals which im pretty sure the reason being the lighting and things like that.
It's clearly inspired by Kirby's "dreamland", however Kirby barely does anything with the premise. Klonoa takes it seriously and incorporates it into the twist.
All side-scrolling platformers should be in 2.5D
I'm right
Rayman Origins is better than Klonoa.
Thread about to die.
>Making a new thread
Did you learn nothing from Klonoa? All things are temporary, just enjoy it while it lasts.
