that reasoning never made fricking sense, because this didn't cause problems in B2W2 with the monsters at the Pokéwood, or with Eternamax in Sword and Shield
They should have made her form more vaguely humanoid iinside, then spit her out at end of fight, but it retains a copy of that human form inside that its internal organs/brain has replicated after taking a host and copying its personality or some shit. Boom. Now you have a canonical reason why your captured ultra beast has a female human form floating inside it.
I hated the character of Lillie so much I was completely numb by the time it happened. Really corny that she's still just a trainer. >RPG boss powers up! >RPG boss sends out Mook #3 (buffed edition)
Ooh. Fun.
>Sun and Moon
I was fighting off narcolepsy. Uh I mean my knees were shaking with anticipation that once I beat this boring "boss" that Hau was gonna run in and suck my dick for the 40th time and give me 5 Ultra Balls and then Lillie was gonna vomit her backstory for the 10th time.
>Gave me hope after Gen6 and would later drop a peg in Ultra “Changes”
That's how I felt about Sun/Moon in general compared to what came right after (Ultras, LGPE, SwSh). It felt like while still truncated as hell they were on the right path after how lackluster gen 6 was (and in gen 6 proper ORAS was already better than XY). Felt like if XY took 10 steps back compared to Gen 5, and ORAS was two forward and one back, Sun/Moon at least walked one or two more forward. Then came years of fricking garbage and Sun/Moon just looked like a fluke.
>everyone universally agrees the fight was executed poorly >ultra necrozma praised as a good superboss (zoroark notwithstanding) >people still say USUM ruined the gen
I don’t get it
One of the best (at the time the best) boss fights of Pokemon does not redeem an entire gen of linear corridors boring rides and really just boring everything, Alola feels so empty and devoid of life compared to the anime, heck compared to XY.
>at the time
Pokemom hasn’t had a single good boss fight since then. Forced exp share, exp charm, all of these things ruined an otherwise decent difficulty curve in gen 9. Indigo disk should have had all major boss battles set at level 50 too
there was a payoff for all the lillie cutscenes because the bad boss was her mom. It was unique in pokemon because it was a full story about a character and the entire game was built around it. It was unique but could have been done better.
USUM is the exact same story with the same annoying problems but 3/4ths of the way through anything that would have made it worth it is scrapped for...idek moronic shit. Well at least we get to explore this cool dead world...ok it's a hallway. Well at least we got a fricking awesome fight. And it was!
but the question is do you really care about lusamine if she is mom lillie and villainously generic but outside stories of lillie she is just a bad crazy woman that's why the fight N is better the time it is built and has a reward as a climax where you are involved and use legends
I remember seeing this pic when it was revealed, someone commented something like >it's just going to be a hallway just like that pic
And they were 100% correct. I'm still fricking mad.
Because they change a generally liked plot for something that doesn't even make sense >Entire game before Necrozma is about trying to get Nebby so they can go back to fight Necrozma >That gets thrown out of the window because it gets absorbed by Necrozma >"Oh btw we had our Solgaleo/Lunala all along lol take it"
I either missed something by being half asleep due to boredom or the plot makes less sense than "I WANT IT NOW WAAAH" Rose's plot
I thought it was a bit underwhelming but neat. I do think the people who wanted to fight it are moronic lol. It's like they never played a Pokemon game before.
>excited to get a unique boss encounter >let down by her pulling out a pokeball >5 slots >expect her to jump in as the 6th >she doesn't, and its just another robo groudon
Double dose of disappointment
The intro was cool but pretty much everything about SM got leaked to me so I couldn't feel anything in particular
Also GF was still experimenting with boss fights so we got this awkward trainer fight instead of just fighting her
It was sorta neat I guess. Idk why but SM and USUM just felt weird to me overall. There are cool ideas but it felt too much like a rollercoaster ride for me rather than a Pokemon game. I think Volo's fight in PLA did the superboss thing better.
i loved it in terms of the narrative significance of the scene but it was bizarre that it was a fight against her team and not against the actual pokémon possessing her. was very confused at the time, seemed like a missed opportunity. was expecting USUM to change it but they just removed it which i thought was a really bad move.
>instead of adding what was clearly intended to be a boss sequence as expected by every player ever, they delete the fight altogether
Gamefreak has always been full of lazy wienersucking hacks. They couldn't be assed to script the fight. OH NO BUT THAT WOULD MEAN CRUNCH. crunch = good game. Gamefreak doesn't make art anymore. They make products that are "good enough"
I thought it was epic and genuinely wanted to face her at the end. Like beating her team and then she becomes a final boss battle. I remember the hype season around Gen 7 and how people thought UBs were going to be Boss battle only Pokémon or they were the human characters or something. So much speculation so when this shit happened I bout lost my marbles.
>people thought UBs were going to be Boss battle only Pokémon
That would've been dogshit, homosexual. One boss monster FORM is fine, but like 20 uncatchable pokemon? Frick yourself.
>Turn into a monster
>Fight using a team of shitmons instead
Fibby pibby
it was neat, but i went in knowing they wouldn't have the balls to really do it
wonder if they regret their choice. they've been playing a lot with superbosses since ultra necrozma
>wonder if they regret their choice
Thy retconned the shit ouf ot Lusamine with ultra changes.
No shit they do.
they retconned her in literally every new instance she appeared in. most troubled character in the series
>i went in knowing they wouldn't have the balls to really do it
this
tentacle tag
HOLY FRICK A JRPG FINAL BOSS LETS GOOOOh it's clefable lol
>"It's pointless because I know they won't make her something you can attack. It'd mean people could hack and "catch" her."
that reasoning never made fricking sense, because this didn't cause problems in B2W2 with the monsters at the Pokéwood, or with Eternamax in Sword and Shield

Ooh. Fun.
>”Oh cool!”
>”Oh frick off”
Please let me hyper beam the frick out of her
I didn't get to hyper beam the frick out of her
Nice boss music though
>Sun and Moon

I had it spoiled for me in a thread here by a leaker but I really liked it. Gave me hope after Gen6 and would later drop a peg in Ultra “Changes”

One of the best moments in all of Pokémon… to bad the ultra games ruined it
>WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA- oh.
Since she has a model in the background it makes me wonder if it's possible to make a mod with her actually as the opponent somehow
>everyone universally agrees the fight was executed poorly
>ultra necrozma praised as a good superboss (zoroark notwithstanding)
>people still say USUM ruined the gen
I don’t get it
Gen 7's story was completely ruined by Necrozma appearing in USUM
Ultra games stories sucked but Ultra Necrozma was based

It’s weird because you’d think forced EXP share would mean they’d be able to properly balance it.
Careful, you'll attract difficultygay
Oh yeah it's just one guy, is it? Because it always is to you spergs...
>posts the same arguments and responses to them with the same images and even filenames
might as well be the same person
Every Pokemon game has felt empty and devoid of life since X and Y. That's not S/M's fault
bump
fricking misinput, anyways anon how old are you

>MUUUUUH STORY MUDDA FRICKA
Ultra Necrozma was also shit
>SM: Lazy generic JRPG villain
>USM: Lazy generic kaiju monster (with a dash of nostalgia if counting RR episode)
pick your poison
X/Y : SwSH = SuMo : SV
"Holy FRICK, we get to fight corrupted Lusam- Ah."
According to GF, my trainer went :•)
SM is basically a slideshow
I thought it was a bit underwhelming but neat. I do think the people who wanted to fight it are moronic lol. It's like they never played a Pokemon game before.

I was upset they didn't give her a Nihilego to fill out that final party slot.
The intro was cool but pretty much everything about SM got leaked to me so I couldn't feel anything in particular
Also GF was still experimenting with boss fights so we got this awkward trainer fight instead of just fighting her
Could be a cool non-Pokémon boss battle, but alas it was a wasted potential just like this entire franchise nowadays
People unironically didn't drop this shit gen?
My penis got hard.
It was sorta neat I guess. Idk why but SM and USUM just felt weird to me overall. There are cool ideas but it felt too much like a rollercoaster ride for me rather than a Pokemon game. I think Volo's fight in PLA did the superboss thing better.
It was one of the most unexpected things in the franchise, and they can never pull it off again.
i loved it in terms of the narrative significance of the scene but it was bizarre that it was a fight against her team and not against the actual pokémon possessing her. was very confused at the time, seemed like a missed opportunity. was expecting USUM to change it but they just removed it which i thought was a really bad move.

Literally every single pokemon game is crunched
I didn't because I'm not a bootlicking moron who supports 3rd version bullshit of selling you the same game again.
i agree and i still regret to this to have bought USUM, but this is the base game anon
... is it? I thought she was white in the base game. Well, in base game I was annoyed that she sent out pokemon instead of battling herself.
>i thought she was white?
No anon, her beast form was always black. What version did you play?
I thought it was epic and genuinely wanted to face her at the end. Like beating her team and then she becomes a final boss battle. That would've been dogshit, homosexual. One boss monster FORM is fine, but like 20 uncatchable pokemon? Frick yourself.
With extreme disappointment. But her heels fall off so it's okay.
Pissed that she wasn't a battler.
