if you had fun during the game with such person just send a friend invite after the game. Worked for me a couple of times, just be like "hey was fun playing <name of the game> with you today" so he knows you are not just a rando and if he remembered you he'll add you.
Then you just go from there trying to match with him in the future.
In my experience, it's unfortunately impossible, and has been for some time.

discord, irc, just anything where the main purpose is talking to people. even mmos technically work since the main idea there is to socialize, but they end up moving their socialization to more reliable chat clients.
