I’ve just beaten the Archbishop and I’m ready to just put the game down. I won’t, because I’ve started it but I’m really just not having fun.
The dodge roll is useless and every boss just seems at odds with what it wants you to do. I perfect stagger a boss and yet I’m the one that loses balance. Fast rapid attacks? Dodge and still get hit anyway. Red attacks that have to be perfect parry only? What is this 2009?
This is just reminding me of sekiro and I hated that game too. Parrying isn’t fun for me and having a whole game based around it is ass. The p organ is a terrible idea, locking core mechanics behind a finite upgrade path? Which isn’t explained well at all.
Got to a point where I’d had enough of every boss taking 2 hours and just summoned an npc after not using one since my first run of Bloodborne back in the day (my first of these games) after I’d finally completely decimated Archbishop and he had a second health bar? Frick off I ain’t doing that.
You play a good game instead.
Fair point
It should have been explained it was a party game. Maybe they were afraid they’d lose sales, like if Sekiro was honest about what it was
Inb4 bawwwing about game isn’t what I want
If you hated sekiro why would you get a game that tries to emulate sekiro
Because he thought it was emulating BB.
it tries to emulate Sekiro and fails miserably. I can deflect in Sekiro generally with no issue, the window to deflect is generous so you don't need to be very high strung about it and even if you miss the deflect you either block it and take no damage or chip damage (charmless). Basically, it's actually FAIR although it can lead to L1 spam
Lies of Piss's parry window is dogshit, and has a delay. I liked the games story so I CE'd my way through it and the later bosses turn the bullshit up to 11 worse than Elden Ring does. FRICK THAT
sekiro's parry window is 30 frames, that's straight up half a second
lies of p's parry window is 7 frames because its supposed to be complimentary to the other mechanics not the single mandatory mechanic the game is based around
>it has a delay
check your monitor settings
Sekiro is good, fun and a fair challenge and Lies of P plays like shit
Skill issue.
Skill issue
>and has a delay
Because I had no idea the shit looked like Bloodborne. Why even have a dodge
Thank you
The dodge is completely fine. The game is quite slow, it's not that difficult to get the dodge timing down. Some enemies are way easier to dodge than parry. For example The Puppet King phase 1 is trivialized by parrying, but dodging Romeo's swings works better for Phase 2.
stick with it
chink sens fortress and the bishop are a low point imo
Thanks anon
I have to disagree, it's one of the easier souls games for me. The parry windows are pretty big.
I didn't have fun at any point in this game. I seriously don't understand the praise it gets. Everything, EVERYTHING, is a shitty copy of souls but done worse. Koreans can only rip shit off.
Mechanically, the game is a very good blend of sekiro/bloodborne. But yeah, it's completely devoid of any originality or "soul". If the player doesn't care about these things, or hasn't played anything by Fromsoftware, LoP will probably seem like an amazing masterpiece to them.
>completely devoid of any originality
That's how I know you didn't play the game.
>levelling up
>light attack on r1 heavy attack on r2
>charged heavy attacks
>fatal attacks
>parrying to get counter attacks
>changing the scaling on weapons
>upgrading weapons to +10
>breaking weapons apart
>turn of the century european/anglo post apocalyptic setting
>extra final bossfight based on a dialogue choice
>refillable health items
>strength/dex/intelligence as stats
>unlockable shortcuts
>multi phase bosses
>bonfires
I could go on, asiatic
Miyazaki didn’t invent a single one of these zoomer, nor is he the first to put many of them together. What next, are you going to claim Lies of P stole fricking i-frames from dark souls
What a disingenuous wienersucker
>no argument
I did. Are you referencing the handle/blade system as the one singular original idea? Because yeah I guess that's something, but it's a gimmick you can entirely ignore. Otherwise, everything else in this game is copied.
>Are you referencing the handle/blade system as the one singular original idea?
Yes.
Everything not made by From is just a shittier souls game with one or two dumbass gimmicks slapped on it.
>Weapon assembly
>Weapon sharpening
>Skill tree
>Blocks AND dodges AND perfect guards. You need to be using all three. You gays keep getting filtered because you’re used to either circle spam or L1 spam and can’t fathom a variety of options
>Humanity system
>More direct story telling
>Setting
>Fable arts
>Practice arena
>Interesting characters
>Legion arm
>Questlines you don’t need to lookup
>Preset main character
>Weapon types aren’t copy paste of one another
>THE RECORDS
Yeah it does nothing new really. Geez have you losers even played the game?
>Red attacks that have to be perfect parry only?
If you're not confident enough with your parrying, just run away from red attacks.
>This is just reminding me of sekiro and I hated that game too.
I think you might just have shit taste, Anon.
>I think you might just have shit taste, Anon.
most people prefer playing guitar over drums 😉
POST HIS FRICKING BUSSY ALREADY
git gud troony
Red attacks can be avoided.
Just not I framed. As in you can literally avoid them.
Perfect parry is not the only option. Moment you reilize this the game becomes easier.
If you're having trouble with dodging, use this P-Organ.
You can double dodge most attacks, even red ones. Obviously don't I-frame through red attacks, but you can easily dodge in and out of their range.
Doesn’t really seem to work for me anon
I tried and it just makes fights more gruelling
I think you might just suck at the game anon. I never had any issues dodging and I even didnt get the P organ dodge upgrade on NG+ and was still fine. None of the bosses are really gonna take more than a few attempts other than like two of them. the archbishop dude is really easy.
Yeah that’s fair. I’m never used to really sucking as Souls games but this Souls like isn’t clicking with me
darksouls is better because parry is an option not mandatory
I fricking hate the red attacks, they always hit me and they do the most damage. I feel the making them red makes them harder to see. And they all have these stupid tryhard delays like "ah.. ah.. ah...! NOW!" where you have to memorize the number of "ah"s
I just run away from them and try to outrange them mostly
Parrying red attacks should frick the boss up more than normal parries and maybe stun them. It's not fun that they can just spam them all the time
If you can't parry the game isn't for you. This is not a rollspam cheeser
Make sure you're using dex for one. They did some buffs to strength weapons recently but it's mostly dogshit and a far inferior game feel experience not being able to move quickly into and out of attacks
Yeah makes me wonder why they even bothered with anything other than Dex. I know Dex is a meme but it seemed like it was meant for this game.
The third stat is the best one because it always gets high scaling (A/S) and the weapon handle customization makes nearly anything viable.
Also it gets -all- the elemental buffs. The Not Tonitrus and Flame weapon made into spears make the game very manageable.
*dex or quality
Those middle ground weapons are good too
>denuvo
Wooden leg fellas, this one is going to take some time to cook
This game is like sekiro but with much harder parries and you have to add some dodges to the mix. Sekiro which is mostly pressing L1.
It was quite fun when I started to master the combat but it took many hours to get there.
Some of the bosses are really hard without the summon.
Definitely my GOTY 2023.
How much woke shit was added to the english script?
I'm at the Alchemist island and I have not noticed any actually. I do know i want P to become human and Sophia to sit on my I mean his face.
Most of the game is translated so literally it sounds ESL as frick, but kind of in a charming way.
I just finished it. Dodge is fine, including the red shit. If you don't think you can parry, you can usually just dodge it.
The game gives you a lot of options in combat to cheese fights:
>Fable to spam attacks super quickly
>Aegis to block everything automatically while you have the gauge + use R1 to quick attack while blocking at the same time
>Specter to have a summon ally for most boss fights - bad damage but good aggro magnet
>Grindstones or buffs to get an edge (fire vs carcasses, acid vs humans, lightning vs puppets)
Sophia's story is tragic as frick. I'm really glad she gets a good ending. Best maiden character in a souls game.
I'm in ng++ and aegis is coming in incredibly clutch for me now that damage is considerably higher
using a mostly advance setup with the acid greatsword hilt then either the corpse axe, blacksteel blade or electric chainsaw when i need access to aegis + a big weapon otherwise I use the salamander dagger or the acid spear on the dagger hilt and just stab dudes a million time
Frick around with the weapon handles and swapping out weapon types.
The game actually rewards exploring and killing optional enemies, so go do that.
Also put some points into advance. It helps a lot with certain areas in the game, like barren swamp
Oh and the game honestly didn't click for me until I learned the perfect block timing.
After I got that down and realized you can break enemy and boss weapons like that, the game got insanely fun
>Bosses taking 2 hours
If you can perfect block, it makes them easier to stagger and go for crits, which speeds up literally every encounter, especially nameless puppet
