They're not always a bad thing, they can give you a good amalgamation of everything the game has to offer. Usually I'll try get as many as I can while the game remains fun. Basically

There you go problem solved. Unironically I think the most enjoyable games to 100% are the Sony moviegame games like tlou2, Spiderman, Days Gone and Ghosts of Tsushima because you don't need to do EVERYTHING but you get a good mix of everything the game has to offer
