How do pirates cope with lack of features that games usually have?

How do pirates cope with lack of features that games usually have?
I don't give a shit about morality but lack of updates, multiplayer and all that other shit sounds like pain in the ass.

Broken AAA cancer that takes 1 year to fix isn't even worth a pirate though.
      Most multiplayer sucks donkey dick.
RS2 and DRG are all I need and those games are dirt cheap.
      >features
What fricking features? In-game stores and lootboxes and shit? Frick off zoom zoom.

Back in the day when piracy was blooming nobody cared, because games were one-time experiences - pirate, play through, delete, move on to another game. Games-as-a-service is cancer.

Most aren't good, highest played pvp and co-op games are free or always heavily discounted

Not having to spend $70 every time I wanna try out something new risk free is better than any possible thing they could offer me in the retail version

I either pirate games long after they got their last updates, or finish the game by the time there's new update.
As for fomo bullshit I don't care. Obviously there's no point pirating multiplayer focused games.

I haven't pirated anything in forever because anything remotely worth playing is so rare that i just buy it outright. Days of wasting time on random games that barely hold my interest like in teenage years are long over. If i'm not 100% into the game then I dont play it.

      Workshop.

I only pirate the games when all the updates and dlc are out or when the complete/ultimate/goty got released. Dun care about multiplayer or any online features. Mod solves any missing content. Installation is so easy nowadays you dun even need to copy paste the crack.

Totally fair but you literally shelve the game for several years at worst.
Do you really want to play that game if you're fine with shelving it for at least a year?

        That's right.
        >Workshop
You can download from the workshops of a good portion of games even without an account.
For the others there's usually some kind of repository like Smods.

Not true. You're just too Amerimutt to know where to get them.

          >>You can update pirated games.
          >And it's pain in the ass.
No, it's trivial. You're just moronic. For real. I'm not saying this just to rile you up. You are incomperent. Only fit for manual labor.

Updating games manually is a pain in the ass compared to literally doing nothing. Especially when it comes to games that get frequent updates. And good luck finding a patch for some unpopular game.

          >Do you really want to play that game if you're fine with shelving it for at least a year?

Do you really would wait a year for a game you're actually excited about when it's already available both in steam and on torrent?

    >multiplayer
private servers exist and they often are even better than the original game because they do whats fun and not what squeezes most money out of the paypigs.

Last game I consider to have really pirated was Elden Ring.
I honestly don't feel like I missed out on anything by not having online or updates.
Finished the game in 3 weeks or so, didn't really feel like I was missing out on multiplayer and these incompetent japs didn't add patches to fix quests that weren't complete until way later so I was already done with the game by then.
I felt like I missed out even less when I saw that online was as I expected, a complete unfun clusterfrick of umbalanced bullshit where everyone uses fingerprint shield and rivers of blood + dozens of exploits.

Yeah multiplayer is the biggest drawback of the Souls games.
It's shit, and even if you turn it off it actively ruins the rest of the game with locked quests and impossible item grinds.
Unless you cheat of course. But still, it's fricking stupid.

        Anonymous

At what point in the from series do you ever have to grind? The games have cheese mechanics out the ass.

I think it was 2 that had stuff locked behind the covenant items and you don't get enough of them just by exploring.

I had my fun with it in Dark Souls 3 even if there was a lot shit you could say about online that I couldn't really refute, because as an invader it felt like if you were good enough you could win in any situation as long as you used your items/weapons or the environment well enough, but I'm just not seeing that being the case in Elden Ring.
        >unless you cheat
Yeah when I felt like I was about to get bored of invading I just started cheating to give myself some moronic to farm consumables like Siegbros and made myself a few funny custom spells then called it quits.

    >multiplayer
I'm not really into online pvp and not a lot of games have coop, some of them have pirated online like MH:World or Elden Ring so this is enough for my purposes of playing with my friend. Still bought both games after pirating them since they're great
    >updates
Double-edged sword. While you can install updates on pirated games I prefer convenience of automatic updates and usually buy frequently updated indies. HOWEVER, pirated games also have the easiest option of NOT updating at all. Disabling that per-patch per-game is a pain in the ass on steam and is probably impossible on other launchers, which is a big drawback for single-player games.
    >all that other shit
Like what, achievements? Eh, it's just not worth it. Workshop is a pain in the ass to work around but that's about it.

What I don't get is why anyone would want to plauly multiplayer in a world where you'll get banned for saying, "leave children alone". That's too much for me. Rather just play single player with no online features.
