the only way is to stop buying things and give them 0 dollars.
but people wont stop so it will never change.
sorry sweety but if you refuse to buy western games you're an incel nazi chud racist right wing conspiracy theorist
That's grammatically correct though. Them is used when you don't know the gender, you don't him or her every time.
No it isn't. "Them" or "They" is a plural third person pronoun, despite being classified as "masculine", "he" also doubles as the "neuter" pronoun for when the gender of the speaker is unknown or irrelevant. For example, when examining an anonymous sample essay, one would say "The writer makes his opinions on the matter quite clear.", not "The writer makes their opinions on the matter quite clear.", since there is only one writer. The same applies in this case, doubly so, since "Player 1" is a singular entity and thus would be subject to the singular third person pronoun usage of "he" or "she".
How modern? It's been documented as used for over 200 years and in Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, "let them in" is used in response to someone meeting someone they didn't know the gender of. You don't say "let him or her in".
The example of "let them in" implies you don't also know the quantity of persons, which is another use case. We're not saying they/them is always bad English, but the correct pronoun for an undetermined or generic singular individual in English is "him," and the decision not to use this is solely and entirely an effort to remould language on the part of people who sincerely and genuinely hate you and everything good in the world.
In Shattered Memory it's a singular person, the game came out in 2009 and it was meant to be ambiguous with the gender.
>the decision not to use this is solely and entirely an effort to remould language on the part of people who sincerely and genuinely hate you and everything good in the world.
Even if you believe it's just the "respect women brigade" it could still be an autistic correction because calling everyone him is incorrect. Not politically incorrect, just regularly. So to side against that because respecting women is actually hateful and hate against everything good doesn't make sense. You're showing that opposition is just political, not the correction.
Should of is incorrect in a logical way though. Having a word for "he or she" that's already in use makes sense. "Latinks" was entirely invented and newly contrived and doesn't have the same utility because Spanish is completely gendered.
>people have been misusing the language for a long time so that means it's correct
people were probably saying "should of" 200 years ago too, but that doesn't mean it's not a mistake. singular them is the english language version of "latinx."
Incorrect. In English, it's correct to assume the masculine for the generic, hence it's "mankind," among other examples. Even female writers going back centuries would refer to generic individuals in the masculine.
The sole and only exception is for groups, which is where "they and "them" come into it. Using such for individual persons is predominantly 2010s-onwards phenomenon pushed exclusively by white liberals who seek to erase gender from the cultural consciousness in an effort to virtue signal to their white liberal colleagues how progressive, inclusive, and thus how non-threatening and safe, they are.
Almost the entirety of modern liberal thought stems from the urge to avoid conflict, not out of any genuine fear of danger, but the neurotic impulse to appease your social peers in order to ensure your own social standing. That is the basis of all this bullshit, and the sooner you understand that, the sooner you'll understand how the world really works.
>Using such for individual persons is predominantly 2010s-onwards phenomenon
I was taught to use they/them for figures you're unsure of the gender of from christian teachers in the 00's, traditionally conservative people and naturally before the idea of tumblr pronouns ever existed.
Kind of moronic that one of the most prominent political topics of current year is just 2015 tumblr ramblings if you think about it
Yeah, they was taught to me as singular for unknown gender long before tumblr's creators were sperm cells. Culture war rot swings too far the wrong way sometimes
boycotts don't work unless they are viral and usually only cause temporary problems for your enemy. Example bud light, kid rock is drinking it again
The way to change things is to make better things and fight them to win public support
Thats how you win at anything
A viral boycott in that environment can cripple your enemy beyond recovery
The west goes for simulation while Japan goes for fun abstraction. Rather than mimicking anime, they want to look like movies.
with the only thing that matters to them
they can just print money out of thin air doe
Remove California from the equation and the world will right itself.
Elon Musk launches new console X and subsidizes non-diversity
>all once race 😀
>all one race >:(
One race has big boobs and the other looks like a wrinkled ballsack.
If western devs would just make black characters hot, nobody would care.
diversity is another way of saying ugly, it doesn't mean diverse
>Japanese diversity
>le good
>japanese games
>actual shit
Maybe instead of demanding breasts (which japs include for free in their garbage fan service) why don’t you people ask for better games? You Black folk are still getting licensed garbage (which you keep BUYING) and obvious downgrades like how Valkyrie Profile turned into Elysium (another series turned to shit by japs).
That's not diversity, weeaboo.
Japanese / Koreans can only produce tranime-influenced human-dolls and generic samefaces, sometimes they will make an Asian face, give it blue eyes and blond hair and pretend it's a European. Proper diversity would be pic related, plus people who are not conventionally attractive.
Good point, anon. I corrected your photo.
And I corrected your correction.
Say hello to your bug-eyed niggtress future. Not that I am against black women in games, but do they all have to be based on that same bug-eyed actress; whats her name?
Debra as Amanda was a mistake.
Everybody loved the original Amanda: short, fat and black.
What kind of diversity is that when they chose the same actress for all the roles?
CCH Pounder baby. They will never replace her as Waller, i.e., Conroy/Batman
Honestly i dont know, literally what would happen if the western realese a game with hot girls like the old times?
These east vs west threads don't really matter when everyone who worships japan is very clearly severely mentally ill. I mean, astoundingly crazy
Anyway, diversity of "races" is irrelevant, what matters is body diversity and Japan is lightyears behind the West.
Final Fantasy heroine bodies are sad to see.
too bad all the western body types are ugly as sin compared to basic b***h copy-paste japanese body type #23532451287901861570124
