It ironically does everything Starfield was going for in terms of exploration. You see that giant mining facility? You can go there and even use the giant machine.
Your outpost actually matters a ton. Location, resources, enemies, all important factors when making a base. An entire server coming together for a raid and seeing each other's bases/shops gives the world a lively feeling despite being so desolate most of the time.

Morrowind is an amazing RPG, Skyrim is a decent action/adventure game. Oblivion tries to split the difference between the two, but doesn't succeed at either. The end result is that Oblivion is a bad RPG and a bad action/adventure game, with no strengths (other than the soundtrack and mod support). Skyrim at least knew what it wanted to be - an action/adventure game with light RPG elements - and it is a better game for it.

The entire second half of the Dark Brotherhood, where you can't back out of killing the Black Hand members even if you noticed that the dead drops have been swapped? The moronic contrivance of using dead drops for delivering contracts in the first place? Just as bad as ANY Skyrim guild's writing.

I don't personally have any hope for TES6, no. I had fun with vanilla Skyrim but didn't bother to play the expansions, had no interest in ESO since I don't find MMOs fun, didn't like Fallout 4, skipped 76 and dropped Starfield after just a few hours.
I just don't think I'm the person they're looking to sell video games to anymore and won't be interested in the next Elder Scrolls game unless they radically shake up their approach to game design. I suspect that TES6 is going to rely pretty heavily on procedural generation.
