I actually don't mind Sheoldred. Yes it's stupidly pushed and OP, but it's also essentially a Baneslayer Angel. It's a creature that does nothing if it's answered by a removal spell and absolutely stonewalls aggressive red decks that can't answer it.
Standard right now is actually moving AWAY from Sheoldred and to bigger, more expensive and impactful cards with some cheap answers for aggro and shelly. The Beanstalk control deck laughs at Sheoldred for example.

        Anonymous

Oh and the Atraxa decks also laugh at it since they can turbo out a much bigger threat that draws 4-6 cards without actually "draw"ing them so no shelly triggers.
I'd much rather my opponent be playing Sheoldred than this Black person

          Anonymous

lmao I got fed up against all the dumbass mono black sheoldred + 10 gorillion removal that I made that atraxa deck. Just sit till 5-7 mana and summon atraxa + etali. Usually gets them to surrender

            Anonymous

Why bother with Etali when you can just play a sleek control shell that just happens to play/reanimate Atraxa with counter backup? Or a ramp shell with Turtle that makes your lands way more threatening and allows you to play Herd Migration for an over the top win con. Both of those versions of Atraxa decks have a better matchup against mono red and soldiers because they don't have big red dino bricks in their hand while they're getting pummeled.

Your wildcards bro? Unless you mean paper in which case buy singles, Atraxa is the most expensive thing in the deck (other than black Virtue if you're playing that).
And if you do mean Arena I know the wild bottleneck is moronic but grinding drafts did give me what I need without paying too many shekels to WotC.

Arena players are moronic unga bunga standtards that get assmad whenever a card does something to stop them from shitting out 35923 creatures and turning them sideways. It's why all the "name a card, that card can't be cast" cards are banned in historic

It's more like it can counter anything while on the battlefield by exiling it. Then it returns from exile at the end of either turn.

        Anonymous

As Neco Arc stated, it's effectively a counter on legs, but it specifically counters anything that would DESTROY a card on the field - this would apply to targeted removal, or board wipes.
As a cost, it sacrifices itself for this negate, but then at the end of the turn, it returns to the field if it was able to counter the destruction effect.
However, it doesn't work on stuff that bounces, or banishes, so there are ways to play around it.
in mtg terms, it would work against stuff like Go For the Throat, or God's Wrath, but not Unsummon, or Swords to Plowshares.

I feel like the nature of a digital game; clicking not physically moving anything, not sitting across from an actual person you will deal with again, and cycling through lots of shorter games; is what gives a tendency to aggressive play.

yugioh tried to solve the lands issue mtg had while understanding none of the nuance for why lands are a thing and so you got this aborted mess of a game that despite its flaws is still fun

I have no clue why they built arena like they did.
Yeah yeah clone hearthstone or whatever but frick, at least take the time to support 4 player multiplayer while you're building the foundation, because now it'd be basically impossible for them to add without wading through piles of spaghetti.

Arena was not designed to be a major product. Originally it was going to be another temporary cash grab like Magic Origins or Duels of the Planeswalkers made solely to get people into paper magic. Then Covid happened and they pivoted into making it their premier way to play the game digitally

In terms of real life paper players, mtg mogs yugioh and master duel is so bad at onramping players into the paper game (ie, the thing that makes them them oney) that it's got investors freaking out

I think nearly all card games are on the downward trend in one way or another and online is the future. the problem is companies dont see this maybe? or are dragging feet to admit it. Its insane that MtG isnt working towards the MGO replacement the same way Valve made CS 2. Arena is okay but frick me if Alchemy, lazy cosmetics and lack of older formats doesnt kill my excitment everyday when logging on.

            >onramping players

because its impossible. the core rules of yugioh dont matter. the only thing that matters is specific knowledge of archtypes. practically no two archtypes play the same and archtypes are the crux of yugioh design now which means learning one deck is pointless because the next deck will play nothing like it also even then its daunting because WORDS WORDS WORDS WORDS because Konami refuses to do keywords nor reformat cards.

then theres the fact that its just zero sum fun. one player combos into infinity and the other player doesnt get to play then vice versa happens. no back and forth anymore because of unchecked powercreep because of refusal to add formats.

            Play single player card games.

sure. when is slay the spire 2?

              >online is the future
I don't really think it is. Digital card games are way more convenient, but without the social aspect, it's easier to hit that point every card game player hits where they look at their collection of junk and think "the frick am i doing?" There is way higher player churn on digital clients than playing physically, and digital clients cannibalizing paper players (at least it's killed paper standard for mtg) means that all these digital clients actually have a net negative effect on their respective games.

That's probably why wotc has started trying to make mtga different from paper magic, because if you have 1:1 between the physical game and the digital game the digital game WILL slowly choke it out

              >Its insane that MtG isnt working towards the MGO replacement the same way Valve made CS 2.
About that, the MTGO team can't even keep up with how fast wotc is doing supplemental releases like commander deck specific cards and some of the UBshit. The team is already overrun trying to keep the game up to date with the sheer wave of cards that are being pushed into the game every year and they can't do it.

MTGA has a similar problem where they need to go backwards and code old sets of cards to set up a playable pioneer/modern format eventually. But its taking them a dog's age to port even a single set of cards because of how many new ones they have to code. The old sets they do port are missing some cards because they're Frankenstein sets that are two sets of cards condensed into one, so plenty of stuff is missing meaning it's never going to be a perfect port of the original format. Basically nether game is in a position to push out a MD style client and they just have to sit there, seethe, and eat Konami's shit while WotC makes them code another 3 sets worth of new cards.

I like Runeterra's single player mode but some of the decks are total ass. Like complete dogshit borderline unplayable unless you upgrade them with shards to get your broken hero powers, which you need to grind. The game is free though so it's not that bad, and if you get frustrated you can just switch to Jinx and steamroll everything.

I get that the whole point of the mode is a roguelite but I wish I could use the cards I pulled in the main game to make my own starter decks. That would probably make it too easy though.

I know exactly what you mean. It was great fun to be able to start with a shitty deck, earn money/cards, play against in-universe characters, etc. For YGO this also typically meant voice acting, animated cards or effects, etc.
I think we're past that point because franchises now realize that they can just make a clone of the TCG, put it online, have playing against other players be the only form of real content and then charge you to buy the cards again digitally alongside the physical cards

        >Personally I miss the days of where every digital TCG port was an adventure game in which you fought people for money to earn more cards.
Well yeah. I am aware that there is some sort of Pokémon TCG game Nintendo put together circa 2012-ish. Well, I'm specifically talking about the actual game part of the TCG, where you went around the world, battling people, winning cards to improve your deck (the deck you started out with in the Game Boy game was hot garbage but that was kind of the point), with great music. No purchase required.

I would take a remake of the original TCG game with better graphics, being able to use the gimmick Pokémon Powers (Base Electrode, Fossil Ditto), and an AI that's not braindead. (There were so many times that where, absent from being able to attack, your opponents did nothing.)

The Pokemon TCG actually had a Japan-only sequel that's infinitely better than the first. There's a full translation patch available.

Duel Masters had four different games that play identically to that as well.

I did play it. It didn't feel as well-paced and the endless "rules-based" games toward the end got tiring. Plus it didn't fix some of the existing mechanics flaws of the first.

in adventure mode you start with a basic deck and get more cards by fighting enemies or buying from shops in towns
it has some issues though since the entire card pool is available so a lot of the cards you find are useless and powercrept compared to the newest cards
the most memorable moment was when i was fighting a boss that summons a random creature from my deck to his board every turn so i built a deck with 1 creature in it that loses the game after 4 turns pass

Reminder that months after them saying this and edhrec following suit to virtue signal, they printed bitterblossom in WOE which explicitly has the "tribal" type

        Anonymous

Tribal's just a card type, they're not gonna change the name of that especially considering it's not an actual card type they use anymore. It's moreso that there's just one incidental card (Bitterblossom) that's very desirable that's also a Tribla card. Internally they've switched from the term "tribal" to "typal" (temporarily because they know it's not a great term) but they've had no issues with people calling things tribal mechanics or decks.

          Anonymous

          >they're not gonna change the name of that
They can and have errata'd cards to change their typings and/or the names of types as necessary. See the amount of "Hounds" that are actually Dogs, the absolute shit ton of obsolete creature types from classic, the Phyrexians from pre-DMU that didn't have the phyrexian type until then

            Anonymous

That's different. That's changing a creature type in a broad thing for something still in use (and was also something actively fought over internally about whether it should be Dog or Hound, and somehow it was Hound for a long while). Tribal is a card type like Creature or Sorcery. It's a defunct type that they don't make any more of, so there's no reason to actually change it. The only reason it'd show up in the future is for other Bitterblossom reprints because literally no other Tribal card really matters. The Phyrexian one I don't understand why that took so long to be honest.

Yeah that's what I do with regular cards, but MSE can't format the little flavor text divider properly. For example, if I add a line break or some spaces so that Gehrman's flavor text doesn't clip the box, it ends up like this.

Idk how much insight it takes but this seems pretty busted. Gehrman should probably be a 0/3 wall and the back side shouldn't be nearly that powerful. In the late game it's always coming down flipped.

I would disagree and say the secret pack system is utter garbage. You can't make any semi new decks anymore because those komunny cucks don't make new secret packs for the new archetypes. The last one was like Albaz or some shit a year ago. So if an arcetype's featured pack rotates out when you weren't playing then you're fricked. Like if you wanted to get Dinomorphia for memes, your only choice is spending all your dust for a supbar deck

because experience counters are an uninteractable scaling effect attached to the player that multiple cards key off of. every marginal amount of incremental value is something that the the other players can never reset. Its roughly the equivalent of ramping to 20 lands and then wondering why people are targeting you - because people dont want to wait to see you cast the actual payoff.

A game like EDH relies on diplomacy and player negotiation/communication, good luck doing that with random homosexuals online. Same reason Hearts of Iron IV multiplayer is a hellscape.

It has Historic Brawl which is just EDH but with 25 life instead of 40. Also everyone playing it is a moron who can't read cards and doesn't know how to play the game.

He's kinda shit but I play esper board wipe and removal tribal and none of the esper commanders particularly care about that. Saruman or the lifegain one are probably better but I like having an actual Elder Dragon as my commander. Then he ended up being the best possible pick for my deck since he's a decent finisher and Arenatards don't know he has flash and don't know about his hexproof ability and don't know you can't use said ability after blocking/being blocked because they can't read.

Yes, playing creatures in a boardwipe deck, because for 2 mana + command tax, you can make symmetrical boardwipes asymmetrical and then win because you have a developed board and nobody else does.

thats pretty much how I play too. Funnily enough farewell is super good in that deck because you can wipe everything and then follow up the next turn with him to start beating face. Hes also super good with anything that gives him infect

Oh. I was so caught up giving an unprompted info-dump that i forgot to make a recommendation.
      Digimon Digital Card Battle
      Duelist of the Roses
Dark Duel Stories on the GBC is pretty primitive, but it had a pretty interesting card-creation mechanic that was pretty fun to figure out at the time souleater upper body, rex lower body for 2000/2000 4*

Whats so good about Dauntless Escort/Selfless Spirit that comes back every turn? Does it play closer to Mother of Runes or does it lead to one sides wraths?

It's a generic extra deck monster that can be summoned pretty easily, modest body @ 2500 atk, that can provide some okay protection for your field - it was a negate, before negates got really out of hand, and a layer of protection the opponent would need to address, before they started blowing up other stuff. I'd say the cards you mentioned are pretty good comparisons.
I wouldn't really say it influenced the meta too strongly or anything, but it was the 5ds (Third gen ygo series) MC's boss monster, so it got a lot of attention.

I usually play in a more casual setting, with archetypes that I like - stuff like fossils, wights, vampires, vendreads, ancient gears, etc.
CPU, friends, etc - not too fond of competitive stuff, because it can get way too sweaty at higher levels, and the stress of potentially de-ranking is enough to turn me off.

I completely dropped yugioh when they introduced synchro summons. Felt like the game I loved changed in a direction I didn't like.
I got into MtG after realizing I played one of their Duels of the Planeswalkers games as a kid without realizing it was MtG. It is worth noting that I never got into paper magic unlike yugioh.

Eh, you get used to all the mess after a while if you stick with it.
You learn how the most common decks work, you learn how your own deck fares up against them, how to properly build a deck that won't die goind second, how most unintuitive rulings work, how to play around handtraps, how to identify when you don't have to play around handtraps, how to read the opponent's hand, where to hit combo lines and so on and so forth.
It's like fighting game homies, at first it seems like an insurmountable prospect but as you play you get the hang of it.

                >Why take anything other than that overpowered shit?
if you've already figured out what your deck is going to do and there's something that suits your gameplan better in the pack
if i'm playing e.g. blue artifacts I will take tinker over a mox every time
same for jund control and yawgmoth's will
                >At what point is it just flowcharting until you end up in 1 of X possible meta flavored decks?
depends strongly on how tuned the cube/set is around specific playstyles, some lists are pretty questionable in this regard
with a linear enough cube it can feel like the drafting is just a formality and you'd be better off just splitting the archetypes into card pools for players to build decks around, but we should assume your friends aren't drooling morons

                Anonymous

Thing thing about playing one particular style and seeing a mox is that their IS a chance for the bomb card to wheel. You will NEVER see a mox wheel. And if you are so deep in a draft that you have a archetype for your deck, chances are that nobody else has it because you've plucked all those cards.

      >MD style client

are you saying this as a good thing or bad thing? because MD client is fricking god awful. I assume you havent played MD if you think that client is good with its for-mobile design

      >But its taking them a dog's age to port even a single set of cards because of how many new ones they have to code.

which is why they need to not do alchemy and not waste time with "historic anthology".

      > they're Frankenstein sets that are two sets of cards condensed into one,

this literally does not matter when the core of every set is limited reprints like Duress or another bolt. If you already have the code for Shock/Bolt then dont pretend like adding Fire Dart into the mix is a herculean task. its copy and paste. same for fight spells. same for board wipes, same for cantrips.

The problem isn't that they're omitting limited draft chaff, its that some cards that actually see real play in pioneer did not make it into some of these remastered sets as a result not not everything being there. Bare in mind I'm not making excuses for the team, just saying what's come straight for the horses mouth. They have admitted they're behind.

Arena is fine, If you arent into looking at the microsoft excel sheet that is MGO this is your only alternative and its honestly a 6.5/10 alternative imo. Its not AWFUL but theres some things holding it back from true greatness the most obvious of which is you dont get to play with every single card in the game. just a fraction of them but if you want just a kind of Pioneer/Standard simulator or just a place to run some drafts MTGA has your back.

Be warned though, the game is driven by a skeleton crew who only do the bare minimum to upload new standard sets as they come out on a the 2-3month periods. nothing more, nothing less. If you are okay with that then go ahead.

                >or play standard (garbage)

There is genuinely no reason to play Arena when both Untap.in and wieneratrice are free and have players. Untap.in in particular uses a coin system that gives your deck a coin rating based mainly on its price but also competitiveness too, allowing lobbies to be locked to a specific coin level maximum for budget games or just to avoid the biggest cancers

Im more inclined to believe the clueless boomers behind it still dont understand whats needed to make a successful online magic game and refused to give the proper budget to the people behind it because they had a lapse of faith from what happened during magic duels. Its a slow learning process but it seems like every instance of online magic gets a few things right then a few things wrong and they just keep iterating from there. Arena is just the lastest model. Its Bigger. Its Badder. But is it too much for Mr . Incredible to handle? nah. next iteration in a decade probably.

Duels of the Planeswalkers was a onboarding game that featured pre-con decks vs Pre-con decks ONLY. you had a handful of them to choose from and you played vs other players. very popular.

Magic duels is literally the precursor to Magic Arena. it was WoTC for the first time saying "no precons, just buy cards and build a deck' the microtrasactions were SO AWFUL though the game choked to death. MTGA is the latest and they made DAMN SURE to make acquiring cards easier this time around and kept the expensive purchases locked to cosmetics. Duels walked so Arena could run as the zoomers say.

Yeah, they're leaning into the speculative market with shit like serialized cards, but at the same time, the massive amounts of (re)printing, and the rapid-fire sets have caused the price of singles to go down. Troll & Toad is pretty sketchy as a site, but they recently discontinued listing MTG stock, and listed lack of confidence in the product as one of the reasons - they really didn't like the 30th anniversary, and they're worried wotc might reprint those eventually.

Game itself is pretty good. I have a friend and my brother that plays the game with me. The biggest problem is actually trying to find the cards and boosters. Restocks sell out within seconds online, and within an hour or two in stores. The only stores I've seen have boosters after the initial launch are the smelly 2nd hand shops that only sell them if you join their league. I just want to play casually with my friend and brother, so now we have to hope my brother finds them since he lives in bumfrick farmer county where there are no nerds within 20-30 miles.

I think people like the Eldrazi purely on an aesthetic level. Conceptually they're fine, but they're hardly antagonists. Emrakul had some clear agency but the other titans just felt like they were... 'There'. They were just big things. They didn't even go all that big on the more madness stuff that Lovecraftian stuff usually does, except for Emrakul but only really once.

I said "antagonists" and not "villains" for a reason anon, them NOT being another evil demon/dragon/etc. scheming about doing evil schemer things behind the scenes and just being huge frickoff eldritch horrors beyond comprehension with inscrutable motives and unstoppable power was the entire reason they were refreshing.
Then they die off one set after being introduced before they can even flesh anything about them out. At least they didn't frick up Emrakul too.

the main titans? no. but their spawn was absolutely wrecking the other sentients left and right. people getting calcified, impaled, distorted and worse.

He literally didn't in the book. In fact the book undoes all of Jace and Vraska's character development from Ixalan completely. Vraska becomes evil again and murders a bunch of people despite getting her memories back for no reason as soon as she shows up on Ravnica and Jace just simps for her a bit and then Vraska fricks off in the middle of all the fighting.
They do frick in Ixalan though.

I'm pretty sure everybody including WOTC likes to ignore that WAR ever happened. The book was total dogshit and nobody was satisfied with anything that happened in it at all besides maybe Gideon's sacrifice. And even then that leaves a sour taste in the mouth because you just KNOW Wizards did it because they didn't want a straight "white" male as the lead character for the color.

I'm sure they felt that Gideon sacrificing himself to kickstart Liliana's character development was very much 'the thing' for him to do. The point was everybody else had given up on Liliana being worth saving, but Gideon went "no, I know she can be better".

Yeah, it was undoubtedly a good move. But their virtue signaling constantly gives it a very, very slightly bitter aftertaste if you think about it too long. Especially in the context of everything else that happened in that book at their behest being bafflingly moronic (EG pissing off all the dykes with the Chandra thing, killing off a fan favorite Planeswalker in an intentionally anticlimactic way, etc)

I mean the MOM side-story about Vraska shows that Jace at least set up a sort of failsafe in her mind back on Ixalan and that helped her not be fully compleated I guess. Presumably the same happened for him but we don't know because he just left without a word in the first chapter to 'somewhere'. Maybe we'll see what the frick is up when Thunder Junction comes around, because we know Vraska's there at least. And Jace is probably not far behind. Cowboy Jace is probably a cool aesthetic.

She DID write that one story for MOM, but I'm fairly sure she doesn't even work for Wizards anymore? Then again she left last year and that story was this year. Ashiok's role in the WOE story suggests that there's some sort of 'thing' Ashiok is gathering other people for, given Eriette was brought away to 'somewhere' at the end of the story. So if it's not Ashiok, it's probably... I dunno, still-compleated Jace who knows.

They each have different roles to remake worlds when they get there.
Ulamog levels everything for what's to come, Kozilek reworks reality a bit, and Emrakul leaves behind new life. Makes sense that Ula's would be the ones to wreck everything.

    How long until MaRo retires?

      Anonymous

Do you think MaRo is anything but a puppet and a headpiece? do you think him retiring will accomplish anything?

genuine question. I always wonder whats the thought process behind people who aim their anger at the face of a team whos only job is literally public relations and inevitably getting rotten tomatoes thrown at them. killing the messenger never accomplishes anything.

      >There is genuinely no reason to play Arena when both
I mean theres a very simple reason one would enjoy Arena over Tabletop Simulator, over wieneratrice and all those other sims but the reason would piss you off and send you into conniptions.

The main issue with arenas are
      >no multiplayer
      >this means you either have to play 1v1 commander (autistic)
      >or play standard (garbage)
      >or play Historic, which is just modern but somehow even less fun

      >no multiplayer
this is the biggest one but even if it did exist it would still have limited card pool so it wouldnt be as fun anyway. lack of social aspects is a huge one.
      >which is just modern but somehow even less fun
agreed. so tired of getting Orcish bowmastered in Historic. this totally wouldnt be the case if we had Modern. then I could get Orcish Bowmastered AND Rakdos scammed! Not having Modern Horizons on MTGA is such a L

the only sensible argument you could even present is "muh polish" which is not as good of a reason as being able to use whatever cards you want play whatever format you want and actually play more than 1 on 1, but continue to shill like a good goy

Considering the absolute state of basically everything Magic story-related in the last decade that was Ixalan's story, I doubt the show will be any good.

                Anonymous

Ixalan was probably the last time the story was just overall good though.

                Anonymous

I was moronic and meant to say "wasn't." Ixalan was the only time the MTG main story has been good in a while. At least until War of the Spark, Ihaven't paid attention to anything after WAR since I made the mistake of buying that dogshit book they released with it and it ended up being the literal worst novel I've ever read (I've read all four Twilight novels)

                Anonymous

There's good side-stories here and there but broadly speaking the story kinda nosedived when Ixalan finished off. It hit its lowest with War of the Spark and it has had some good bits here and there but the Phyrexia twofer of All Will Be One to March of the Machine was just kind doing a lot of the same problems as War did. Not AS bad, but it does sort of feel like a lot of the build-up once again didn't matter because it was basically just "anyway Wrenn saves Teferi and Zhalfir with him, Zhalfir kicks the shit out of New Phyrexia and then Karn kills Elesh Norn which somehow shuts off all Phyrexians".
Honestly my main complaint is that they still barely even have done anything with Jace and Vraska post-Ixalan. It was basically completely ignored in War of the Spark and just vaguely implied to be a thing and then both got compleated (and are notably the only compleated walkers to be still MIA post-March, three were cured, three died, and they're just unknown) and apart from one side-story in March of the Machine (which I think was the highlight of MOM's story), Jace and Vraska are completely irrelevant. Compleated Jace should've been a terrifying villain and he just wasn't.

No I just play land removal because I got really fricking tired of every single player with black in their commander deck (and in their ass) tutoring up urborg + coffers every single game. Then became the table's archenemy because commander players literally have an aneurysm when someone interacts with their lands

    >Fixing M:tG specifically
    Impossible. Nuke it.

    >Making fun digital card games
Divorce them from "collectible" card games. Deckbuilding games are fun, secondary markets and "chase cards" and all the shit that comes with a manufactured limited supply is not. If you need to make money for your game, you can sell the game, or you can sell expansions, or even sell cards directly--but don't artificially limit their fricking supply, that just messes everything up and creates an environment where players who can afford the best decks get to play and everyone else gets to eat shit.

Summon Wars is a good example of this. They sell decks, but the decks are available to everybody and will never run out (and they're also extremely cheap, at only a few bucks per). If you want a deck, you can buy it, and you get an unlimited playset of all the cards in it (meaning you can use them in as many decks as you like), no funny business. There's no speculators buying out stock, there's no scalpers hiking up the prices, no lootboxes or lootbox-equivalents. Every game should be like that.

why is old MTG art so soulful compared to the new one?

transitioned from physical to digital medium

      Anonymous

M:tG art used to be largely commissioned to artists who were given a prompt and told to deliver it. This, obviously, resulted in a lot of different artists delivering illustrations in a lot of different styles. A LOT of it was trash, but not all of it, and over the first decade of the game's life a lot of classic art was produced.

Sometime around 2000, WotC implemented a "style guide" that solidified the look of M:tG. Artists, in addition to delivering on their prompt, were now asks to also abide by the guidelines in the guide. The goal was to unify M:tG's visual look in order to make art that originated from the game instantly recognizable as M:tG art--and it succeeded. However, this essentially made artists putting their own "spin" on a piece of art off-limits, and so all art from the last couple decades kind of just blends together into an M:tG-themed mush.

Land removal isn't the biggest evil in Commander it's that one gigahomosexual who actually uses an infect deck and gets extremely butthurt if you suggest increasing the amount of poison counters needed to lose in order to match up with commander's 40 life total

you're the exact homosexual I'm talking about and are why you have no groups to play with. The entire reason Infect was soft-reworked into Toxic is because there's no "alternate playstyle" to infect, it's literally just winning with half the damage needed, the problem in commander arising when it's a fricking fourth of the damage required.

                Anonymous

Toxic is nu-infect and infect is one of the few effects wotc have gone out of their way to say is never coming back. And if it ever did literally every deck would have to splash green just to play the anti-infect card

yeah but you still die at 10 counters

                Anonymous

Toxic is one counter regardless of damage which is way more manageable than chaos warping a blightsteel into the game early or turning multiple 1/1s into 10/10s in a single turn which in green is easy
Toxic is how infect should have always been to be honest

                Anonymous

Well, no, Toxic is "the number of Toxic it has" counters. But it's wholly independent of the damage done. The only thing that does poison based on damage is the new Etali but if you're getting hit by that you deserve to lose.
