I have a cheap 6$ mousepad and I have ran out of idea on how to clean it. No matter how many times I rinse it with soapy water or brush it with alcohol, the rubber side always has this sour smell. The smell even lingers on my hand for a while after washing it
I bought one of those hard surface mats so I just spray it with alcohol every once in a while and wipe it off, it doesn't really pick up a lot of dirt.
You do need to clean glass mousepads regularly, because otherwise your finger grease will eventually polymerize and become impossible to remove. My first glass mousepad has slightly uneven surface because I didn't know this.
Not on aged finger grease. It's like seasoning on cast iron pans. You either need something like sodium hydroxide, or grinding it off, both of which would ruin the surface finish.
It's glass with a lightly textured surface to reduce static friction. You can't scrape it clean. Vinegar, isopropanol, window cleaning spray, WD-40 all failed to make any difference.
I ended up making my own glass mouse pad after bit being able to find one a few years back. Got a square piece of frosted tempered glass from a local glass shop, spray painted the bottom black and stuck some rubber feet on it.
Wash it with soap under tap
I don't have a mouse mat
It doesn't get dirty.
Run your fingernail across the surface and post pic
Cut your damn fingernails and stop running them across the surface.
You won't need to clean it ever again.
>he doesn't know about the fingernail test
Dunno and don't care.
I have been using my logitech mousepad for 4 years now, never needed to clean it.
Still looks good as new.
Ignorance is bliss my friend
Keep coping, shitty-mousepad owner.
it's impressive how there are no particles in the air in your room and your skin does not produce any bodily oils to protect itself
>4 years, no dirt!!!
disingenuous benched pedo lemao
I would hate to see the state of your sheets
Imagine his mattress and pillow if he says that shit lmao
Fat and greasy subhumans seething: the posts.
my comfort wipe works pretty well on it
I throw it in the washin machine
i hear about this all the time but is it real?
should i put it in a laundry bag before tossing it in?
i assume i just let it air dry
Yes it's real. Just toss it in the washer when you're doing a load of towels or something and then let it air dry.
Laundry detergent is not going to be good for the rubber
Does this still work if you have one with a wrist pad?
it costs like 5 dollars for a new one, just throw that shit out
Mine was like $30, I'm not just gonna replace it every time it gets dirty lmao
Mine is 1.5$ and I still wash it. Because Planet Matters.
Rinse with warm water and soap.
vaccuum
Wash it with warm water and let it dry.
just thoroughly rub hand soap on it in the shower, rinse, and repeat a couple times

put it in your dish washer and run the sterilize cycle (if you have it).
Also if its just cheap rubber it will eventually start to dry rot.
I use my desk, mousepads are bloat.
I don't.
Is... is that semen?
first day?
no, that's Mercy. I think
First I flip it around (it's really tall so only one half really gets dirty from use) then I wash it and air dry it
I bought one of those hard surface mats so I just spray it with alcohol every once in a while and wipe it off, it doesn't really pick up a lot of dirt.
I don't use one
I have a giant wooden desk, and its surface works fine enough
water and soap. I don't eat near my computer so it doesn't get that dirty.
Clean?
toothbrush, soap and cold water
i let it soak in soap and then I shrub it with a sponge
>implying I'm not using a piece of cardboard I ripped off the side of a box
Dr. Scholls magic eraser
Microfiber cloth + isopropanol. Glass mousepads are best.
old toothbrush, warm water and soap
Wiping it down
You could try one of those glass mousepads.

vinegar
that shit works on everything

It's frickin glass, use a razor scaper or windex
I don't think there is such thing as a glass for fricking...

Maybe, mineral spirits. Acetone would likely screw the texture. Heat gun or hair dryer may help.
It's easy to clean though
You could just wipe it once everyday and you should be fine
I know that now. I'm just warning people who don't.
>mineral spirits
Basically the same as WD-40
>Acetone
I'm certain it would do nothing.
>Heat gun or hair dryer
Would most likely make things worse.
Maybe halogenated solvents might work, but I doubt it.
Frick it, soak it in brake cleaner

I don't, I wear a sports sleeve so it doesn't get dirty.
I also wash my forearm every time I get the chance
I have a job so i buy a new one, only 40 bucks.
put it in the washing machine once in a while
