It's astounding how worthless that parry is. Timing tighter than a nun's butthole (meaning by the time you learn it you can heavy roll every attack in your sleep) and the reward is.... .01 nanosecond of stagger, wow.
Parries in general suck, imagine having to land 4 perfect timing windows per riposte on Malenia.
It's the most forgiving parry in the game though? I don't think I've ever missed it.

Stay in his face. Like half the attacks just whiffs you. And either keep a pillar between you and him for his gay sword beam throwing flipping around move or just learn the roll timing.
Staying under him and going behind him will allow you to avoid most of his attacks, and if you have the parry tool, you should know that it can only parry attacks that flash yellow.

Look at that guy's rune count. He could be way higher, it's obvious he had stopped leveling himself for quite a while. He could probably reach 145 or so with that amount of runes, it's like DS2 where they gave you a ton of souls because the end game is like 150.

Dunno what you're doing but if you want to use Crucible shit I think their spells are all 27 FTH requirement. They kind of suck, at least they felt like it when I used them but they're still fun to use. The tailwhip seems to do a lot of poise damage.

Why?
The last softcap for weapon scaling is at 80. But 2 handing gives you a 1.5x bonus, so 54 is enough to reach it. If you plan to mostly 2 hand, you can stop at 54. If you intend to one hand often, you should go all the way to 80 or as close as you can.
