The source zombie maps were so damn good. Particularly the ones where everyone runs around and tries barricading themselves into various rooms and corners.

Too bad Valve decided to frick up the physics of the game. Now zombies can pretty much walk through physics objects with which you used to be able to block entrances.

Because it was the type of fun that existed before the 2010s killed it, and that's something that anyone under the age of 20 cannot understand. It had no tryhard compBlack person mode forced into it, no one cared if you were good or not, and people would actually talk to eachother and become friends instead of just being queued with 4 randoms that you don't talk to and will probably never see again.

Okay, I have to ask. One random memory I have was playing this map and two guys talking to each other on voice chat about one of them having gotten a computer worm and asserting the damages, getting told about needing a new motherboard and shit too.
This was like over ten years ago now. Was there a malware embedded version of this map that some servers used or something? I am still a techlit.
You can pack maps with any files you want, they're essentially zip files. However that doesn't mean they will run every file in them when you play the map. There's been countless exploits fixed so maybe back in the day it was possible though.
Garrysmod zombie survival was always superior. Mini games in css was fun though
Man I still have fond memories of some MilRP server I played back in 2015, it hit just the right balance between roleplaying autism and fun, I liked pretending to be some Hartman type drill sargeant and other players liked me. Good times
