Solid game, enjoying my time with it. Not completely salt-free though but thats par for the course.

Good news: execution is one of the easiest things to get better at, just practice.
Lacking fundamental knowledge is a harder battle, it requires a conscious effort.
But not being able to do a shoryuken or a sonic boom on command? Just give it time. It comes as second nature, and THATS the moment you start learning the game, when you dont have to make an effort to control your character.

I'm enjoying it but I wish the cast was larger. I'm playing JP because I like how much potential for tech he has but I don't really enjoy his gameplan. Really want a character similar to his level of potential like Urien or Dudley or Viper or even Menat.

Laura. Manon is close, but I loved Laura's slow fireball game. Incredible space control and meaty tool. JP doesn't scratch the itch either.
C. Viper. I hate Juri and the fact that they keep shoving her down our throats while ignoring all the other SF4 newcomers.
It's fun to play, best lobby system in fighting games, story mode is okay, oddly though I don't enjoy watching high level matches of it like I do with other games.

My only complaints are the battlepass existing and that inputs are so fricked. You need to clean up your inputs but for the wrong reasons.
I mained T Hawk in 4 and I am having a fricking blast with Lily. My only complaint is they took away EX dive being back jump OK, and removed the foul ability to cross up with it, which I think is unfair given that this game has a parry button that beats crossups. Scuffed my placements and got dropped into the bottom of gold but I'm in plat now, taking time out to play casuals/BH sets and learn my matchups, got blown up by a Blanka in the hub yesterday but I learned a lot.

you literally cannot play honest street fighter in this game, you can't control people or their space, you have to go random and do moronic shit and Chun just cannot handle it and her combos and shit are a million times harder than everyone else's for a worse reward

I think slime rush sucks and I'm considering ditching Chun and picking up Guile because of it. Throwing around booms is a very easy way to discourage people from throwing DRs around like candy
Agreed. Not that Chuns combos are had but she is by nature a defensive/confirmation/punish oriented character in a game where you have to react to AAs, DIs and DRs. DRs are pretty fricking hard to check and if you fail you get stuffed. Even checking with a jab is hard because it's a 19f window, game has 5f of delay and fastest normals are 4f. It's bloody impossible
If you want to give her a another go try using her st.lk, it sticks around and can be converted into a lot of things on punish counter.

I want to like it but the character designs are mostly ugly-meh and drive impact is a nuisance mechanic that isn't sound but something you constantly have to be on the lookout for.
Good mechanics but the roster is too small and the characters aren't fleshed out enough to make fighting the same characters feel varied enough. I think they'll really have something good by the end but unfortunately I had my fill over a week ago and the DLC distribution model isn't going to pull me back for the foreseeable future. I'll give them full credit for it being better on day one than SFV is all these years later though.

Drive Impact is a bit annoying, especially playing against JP but I am self aware enough to know this is a skill issue, not a fundamental flaw and eventually I will get used to it
My only gripe is no Bipson (yet) and capcom when you do inevitably bring him back i swear to god if he is that slow lumbering shitshow from 5 i will ddos the cfn until the end of time

Fantastic game but online matches exhaust me all to hell. My heart rate goes through the roof with adrenaline, win or lose, and leaves me totally drained after about about 10-15 matches. So glad there’s some finally some fun single player content to retreat to for a spell as I rest up for another beating.

I am learning how to play a fighting game for the first time in my life, and this one is super fun. Still learning a lot, but every time I get past a certain barrier, it feels awesome. Yesterday I finally got a decent bread n butter down, but I still need to practice a lot of fundamentals. This is the first time I have had a game where I actually practice. Feels kinda weird, but it's meditative and rewarding.
Also Marisa is really pretty.
