Obviously Dark Souls is influenced by DMC, but it's not the evoultion of DMC or the same genere of game. There are no combos, no jump botton, no rating system, it's not mission based, there are rpg elements, levels, etc. The only fromsoft game that is the same genere (character action game) as DMC is Sekiro, everything else is too diferent. It would be like saying that splatoon and half life are the same genere of game just because they both involve shooting weapons.
Viewtiful joe and Okami are mediocre. Bayonette would be much better with any other director, as that would free us from button mashing quick time event minigame hell. Wonderful 101 is only enjoyable if you have autism. RE2 and DMC1 are objectively masterpieces though, I'll give you that.
