The superior version of P3 is still never ever status, though
this is the reason I didn't want to be announced for switch, always heard of it as the much better version but now when I do get the chance to play the game it's going to be with P3P, so now I've got to choose between the convenience of playing it as is and potentially hindering my enjoyment of the game or waiting for a remake/remaster that will never come.
P3P isn't nearly as bad as shitposters make it out to be, especially if you haven't even played the PS2 versions.
The only thing missing from P3P that matters are the ability to equip any weapon on the MC.
Persona 3 and 4 have awful character models that actively detract from every scene they're in and the animated cutscenes in P3 looked like ass.

I guess I was being too ambiguous, I meant the 3D model cutscenes, not the actual anime ones. The animation for those is cheap but they still look good. The normal cutscenes are just characters standing around doing canned animations which is much worse than the VN presentation in portable.

Treating ports as hand me downs is one of the weirdest copes ever, it’s not like we’re literally getting a used copy. We’re getting the definitive version with all the DLC packed in for free of a game you had to beta test the unfinished version of for full price 5 years ago.

Worked fine for Catherine Full body, which was a PS4 Atlus game running on the same engine as P5R.
Catherine has to render 5 different cubes at best and 3 different character models at once at best. While the background was a static image and the gameplay was effectively Q-bert. You could run Catherine Full body on a fricking PS2 if they gave enough of a shit.

Have you not played Catherine? It's pulling and climbing cubes. and walking around a bar. There are 4 sets of scenery in that game. Apartment. Bar. The Cubes. The waiting area between the cubes.

I've already played all those games so I couldn't care less. I might pick up 3 and 5 on PC if they're ever dirt cheap. So I guess that's kinda cool.
I already played P5R a few years ago and I'm glad that it's on PC so I can play Persona 5 EX+ or whatever the mod is that adds a bunch of QoL stuff.
