How does Twilight Princess have such a wide reaching impact on gaming despite it being a short lived experience back in 2006? There's many gamers who wish for a rerelease on the next Nintendo console. They want to be transported back in time 15 years.

It's the best selling real Zelda game by a very large margin

It's not 2006 anymore. Also 2006 was just as shitty as 2024.

In 2006 I had to stay in school under the threat of legal action. In 2020 and beyond schools and colleges were closed constantly because of covid. Thank God.

    >what if we made OoT again but worse
Honestly, TP's only real contribution to the series is proving the Zelda cycle is real

you guys say this shit, but what exactly do you think is worse?
      it can't be dungeons
      it can't be combat
      on horseback even
      it's not artstyle or graphics
even the Ganon reveal is "kino" because Zant is a phony if you pay attention.

And thus the cycle was proven.

        >>it can't be dungeons
Shadow, Forest and Spirit temples in Ocarina>Tp's dungeons, although TP and OOT had the best 3d dungeons in the series so everyone kinda wins.
        >combat
TP is piss-easy. It might give you more variety with the helm splitters and whatnot, but you almost never use them+you don't even have to press a button to use your shield, it does it automatically. In OOT I had to stop moving to use the shield, the game didn't do it for me.
        >horseback
Eh, Epona was always a glorified taxi for me
        >artstyle
TP had some funky character designs which I liked, but I don't see others praise them as much as they do with OOT.
        >even the Ganon reveal is "kino" because Zant is a phony if you pay attention.
Ganon using Link and Zelda to get into the sacred realmfelt more natural thanGanon using Zant as a puppet and appearing in the final dungeon.

          >Shadow, Forest and Spirit temples in Ocarina>Tp's dungeons,
          stopped reading there
you see I already affirmed it couldn't be dungeons because they're all superior.

2006 was the last year before video games and all media went to shit. 2007 send culture in a free fall

Because it had some of the best dungeons in the series and best combat. The series has only been regressing since and TP was the last good Zelda. Crazy it's been almost 20 years. Oh and Hyrule Warriors is dope some let me rephrase it as the last good mainline.

for me it was how the dungeons blended so seamlessly into the world as actual locations rather than
      >FIRE TEMPLE
      >WATER TEMPLE
      >FOREST TEMPLE
      we had
      >Goron Mines
      >Abandoned mansion atop a snowy peak
      >Haunted prison/torture chamber in the middle of a desert
      ya dig?

        so much of this,
I found myself wondering months ago, what even are the locations in Ocarina of Time. These chambers with puzzle arrangements, like those are practically the exact same as shrines in Breath of the Wild, test chambers. At least BotW had a solid reason for them.

Yes, there is no way, those things didn't happen in medieval times, fantastical or not

It used to be a cozy mountain retreat until global warming hit.

it's a better executed Forest Temple, obviously a type of stronghold fort, but left abandoned. atop a mountain makes more sense for one than deep deep deep in the woods.

it did though, multiple times you have to locate and teleport a structure into place. there's also godtier combat even on horseback. there's also the sumo wrestling. and there's double hookshots. there's more to.
      >but I forgot them so uhhhh it didn't introduce any new ideas!
