There is no reason they couldn't have chosen different locations for bonfires as to being close to the boss fight.
Having to run up for 1 minute for another try adds nothing to the game.
you are probably forgetting a shorcut, i remember ds3 having bonfires close enough, the real bullshit was shit like Midir where you had to wait the elevator and use a long ass stair.
There are multiple instances where even with the shortcut it would take around a minute to run back. First one that comes to mind is the lothric brothers fight. Even with the shortcut elevator unlocked that let's you out almost at the entrance to the fight, just because the elevator ride takes so long there'd be like 54 seconds between attempts.
This. I actually stopped playing this game at the twin princes because the run back was so tedious and unfun (combined with the fight itself consisting of bullshit teleportation). Keep meaning to go finish it at some point.
Elden Ring got it right with the secondary statue checkpoint things. No need for actual bonfires.
Eldenshit has the most notorious runbacks for bosses though.
I literally summoned mimic for any boss that required me to run back for longer than 10 seconds.
Huh? Did you keep choosing to respawn at last grace instead of the statues?

all the bosses that matter have bonfires really close
are you complaining about running through a couple of enemies like dancer or dragon slayer armor ?
It's 1 minute everytime you die, not just once in the game. Over the course of the game this adds up and obviously will be more the more you suck at the game.
from my perspective ds3 is very generous with its bonfire placement
wait until you play DeS,ds1 and ds2
It is more generous than the other games, I agree. However just because there are worse examples, doesn't make it any less unnecessary.
>54 seconds between attempts
How burnt out is your mind in a 1 minute cool down/gather your thoughts time was TOO MUCH?
Again, it's time that could've been spent getting right back into another attempt. If I want to cool down or gather my thoughts I can literally put the controller down and get a glass of water or something. The game doesn't have to force me to do that. It's simply tedious.
It's one fight with downtime. Cry about it. A lot of ds3 fights let you right back into the fight. Now ds1 on the other hand had some horrendous run backs if you died.
But it's not just one fight with downtime. It's enough fights that it's a noticable hassle, admittedly a smaller one but a hassle nonetheless.
Yes, there are fights that aren't bad with the run back and the previous titles are worse in that sense. I already agreed with that. >Cry about it
Nice one
idk why are you trying to reason with fromslop fans
they will eat up anything and everything Miyazaki serves them
they would b***h about this shit in every other game
None of the runbacks are "cancerous", not even the ones in DS2, Blue Smelter Demon being the only exception.
The homosexuals in this thread are simply complaining about a minor nuisance while other homosexuals are sucking its dick.
I didn't mind the run back in DeS or DaS because it fits their style.
In the shallow hack and slash From games, where the difficulty comes from gotchya's and bloated health pools, they should just respawn you at the fight.
Grinding out a tough boss is so draining and boring with the downtime. I can grind out a tough fight in other games for 4 hours no problem. Doing the same in a From game is maybe 3 / 4 of those hours actually playing the game, being generous.
it's the punishment for dying. it raises tension during the fight.
this is Das3 though, it is so lenient with bonfires in its already short dungeons that the tension is almost absent.
It wasn't. They just wanted to artificially inflate the playtime.
that's every soulslike thoughbeit
Theres already too many bonfires in this game. Sounds like your just shit.

This, Midir is the only boss where I remember this being an issue.

bosses like maliketh and the wizard b***h didn't have statues. legit took 30-60 seconds just to get back to the arena

It's not that a few enemies are a problem while running back. It's about the tedium of doing so.
Holy shit shutup, its a 1 minute walk to the boss by your admission what are you even complaining about.

DS2troony is suicidally upset, yet again
stay mad, stay rotting
Just make a save backup before a boss room
Git Gud, holy shit.
Best bossgame ever made, even the worst boss like ballsac tree is decent
Gael's first phase is top 5 in difficulty, but the rest of the fight is bottom 5.
That's why I luv'd Lies of P.
Bonfire before every boss.
Not EVERY. Bunny bros was pretty bad
No? The shortcut was literally to the left of them, right outside the inn.
>Why can't they make the game easier for me reee!
Shut your damn mouth you should be embarrassed for making this thread.
Tedium has nothing to do with difficulty.

They don't deserve the peace of not being confronted.
Is there even a single cancerous runback in this game? Don't speak to me until you suffer through DS2.

I would consider all of these to be manageable, but pointless and obnoxious

Dark Souls 3's bonfire placement was dumb.
