Honestly, if the game isn't working on Series S yet, I doubt it's working that well on other platforms. With the amount of horrible launches we get, not playing this slop day 1 might actually be a blessing in disguise.
If Starfield really is running smoothly on Series S, I seriously question the competence/effort of devs who blame the system for delayed launches.
Or even something like Forza Horizon 5, that looks incredible and they got it running at 60 fps with no issues. Blaming the Series S seems like a copout for shitty development.
Yes. It's everything I liked about the Xbox One but without the shitty hardware bogging everything down. I just wish they didn't retire the backwards compability program. Microsoft has been collecting a lot of Ls recently but the hardware this time around the hardware is solid. I also like the new UI for a change.
>I just wish they didn't retire the backwards compability program
they didn't. ms needs approval from every publisher before they can add a game to the bc program. most just don't give a frick.
What do you mean too late? We're not even halfway through this generation yet, and have barely had any new gen exclusives. Starfield is the first substantial one really, with the new Forza coming immediately after if you like racing.
I'd argue now is probably a better time to jump in than the past couple of years where there wasn't much to play that you couldn't also get on Xbone.
>spending $1,500+ for a gay PC covered in twinkly rainbow lights
no thanks gay, next you’ll suggest I build one myself like some fricking sweatshop child
it exists
since i'm not much for online gaming i don't have a game pass or xbox live account and i'm not fricking with online games much on it, but then i don't really have anything that proves i should've gotten it besides "well my last consoles were a base ps4 and xbox one, time to upgrade"
MS fricked emulation in retail mode so now it only works in dev mode
I'd look into it before jumping in because emulation in dev mode is a bit of a hassle
I skipped the previous console generation entirely. So considering I can play a large portion of my original Xbox and 360 collection along with some games from last generation, I'm actually really happy with it. I don't care about the exclusives also being on PC.
Quick resume is so fricking good, why the hell can't I have that in Steam already. My PC has a gajillion free gigabytes I can use for suspended states, wake up gabeeeen!
Also its really cool that you can play so much BC stuff on the xbox. I can stick my old OG-xbox discs in and it just works.
There's really no technical way around that
QR works like save states, saving the contents in memory to the ssd
When you put shit back into memory the network connection will have expired
I'm happy with Series S. Great value for such a price. I've already covered all of the games in my backlog and played lots of PS2 games while the emulators through the retail mode were available. The d-pad is great and it's perfect for shit like Crash games. The only gripe with it is that Xone games, if there are no updates, play the XOne S versions which sometimes look and play much worse than even the PS4 versions.
I'm not even sure this console actually exists. I have never seen one in a store, never talked to anyone who owns one, nor have I ever even seen any xsex games on store shelves either
I wonder why MS bought zenimax. idTech5 was great before downgrades. Otherwise nothing going for it. Doom 4 & 5 are absolute shit. So are israeliteensteins. Morrowind ad Skyrim were ok, nothing special.in nobody's top 20 that's for sure.
What a joke. Buying these pedophiles and shutting down Lionhead. I am angry.
I don’t have one yet but you can’t really go wrong with it they have always supported Xbox consoles pretty well and I think they’re finally doing something about their lack of exclusives. You know what you’re going to get out of PS5 but Xbox is in rhe process of rebuilding their identity so it seems more interesting
It's pretty good. Good Blu-ray player too, the fan is reall quiet but the drive is kinda loud.
Quick Resume is awesome, couldn't live without it now.
Was a snoy since the PS1, glad I switched sides and picked one up on launch day.
bought a half decent pc for the same price and now the xbox sits in the corner
might dust it off for starfield if the pc isn't up for the task but if that doesn't happen I'll sell it to some kid for cheap and make his day
Berry
Pretty happy tbqh
I wish series s didn't exist tho
why? you have a whole group of people you can feel better than
Because of shit like this basically
Honestly, if the game isn't working on Series S yet, I doubt it's working that well on other platforms. With the amount of horrible launches we get, not playing this slop day 1 might actually be a blessing in disguise.
Its not only this game
Also BG3 and some others
Its bs

They hold it back we should have BG3 at the same time as Starfield
Oh I wasn't aware of that. I don't have my X yet, but now I already hate S Black folk.
I bought a PS5. I might get a Series S though.
Just bought one today
Getting here Monday
same, mine come sin on Sunday. Technically only bought it for Starfield, but I'm sure I'll find one or two other things to do on it.
Yes. It's everything I liked about the Xbox One but without the shitty hardware bogging everything down. I just wish they didn't retire the backwards compability program. Microsoft has been collecting a lot of Ls recently but the hardware this time around the hardware is solid. I also like the new UI for a change.
It plays all Xbone games natively, and nearly every 360 and original Xbox game worth playing has already had backwards compat added.
>I just wish they didn't retire the backwards compability program
they didn't. ms needs approval from every publisher before they can add a game to the bc program. most just don't give a frick.
I have an Xbone VCR, that I bought off a crack head for 20 dollars.
i’m so close to getting one just cause of starfield
Don't bother until there's a performance mode.
Starfield is CPU limited. Only a desktop processor can hit 60fps.
That's bullshit. Drop the framrate and the Series X is more than capable of doing running Starfield at 60fps.
I'm assuming you meant resolution. If it were that simple, they'd do it.
It's a complex game with a lot of objects, physics, and interactions at once. It's the CPU my guy.
That's a long way of saying that Bethesda sucks at programming
The console only has a 3.8ghz processor at best. It's normal for desktop processors to boost to 5ghz or more nowadays with RAM to work with.
But also, no, I'd argue the opposite. This is possibly the most complex game ever made.
If there was any mistake it was releasing Starfield ahead of its time.
me too bro, worried it might be too late in the cycle
What do you mean too late? We're not even halfway through this generation yet, and have barely had any new gen exclusives. Starfield is the first substantial one really, with the new Forza coming immediately after if you like racing.

Just feel there’ll be a series X Pro or similar in the next 12-18 months
I doubt it. The Series X IS the pro, the S is the base model.
Fair enough, I’ll probably grab one tomorrow - wish I did it a month ago before the price hike but eh
>bought a console to play the inferior unmoddable version of a highly anticipated pc game
>spending $1,500+ for a gay PC covered in twinkly rainbow lights
no thanks gay, next you’ll suggest I build one myself like some fricking sweatshop child
I'm sorry to hear that, anon.
I like it but if the series s didn't exist we'd be doing a lot better
I was the happiest camper in the world until devs started pumping out 30fps shit again.
Also, frick the Series S for holding it back.
I bought a PC like a homosexual
it exists
since i'm not much for online gaming i don't have a game pass or xbox live account and i'm not fricking with online games much on it, but then i don't really have anything that proves i should've gotten it besides "well my last consoles were a base ps4 and xbox one, time to upgrade"
Very much
Quick resume is a game changer
Wish MS just made a gaming windows that implements quick resume
How well does it emulate ps2? Might get one for that tb.h tbh
MS fricked emulation in retail mode so now it only works in dev mode
I'd look into it before jumping in because emulation in dev mode is a bit of a hassle
Very. And now with starfield about to drop, I will be set for years. Max comfy.
Extremely happy anon. I swapped my PS5 out for it ahead of the Starfield release.
Totally organic post
I love mine and have been playing it almost every single day since release. I really need to try emulation but so much stuff to play already.
very. best console i've ever had.
t. gaymer since the nes

i like qr too, but it fricks your shit up when you play a game that has online stuff running in the background.

thinking about getting one if they go on sale during the next black friday. My pc is crap and i don't wanna spend huge money to get a good gpu.
>tranime
I was happy until it fricking broke twice within a month. It better stay fixed when I get it back next week.
No games
Honestly just seems like a locked down pc for poorgays
That's what it is. Notice how every single post about buying one is prefixed with a variation of "I can't afford a pc..."
>
and why is that a bad thing?
It's not. It's strange anyone would pick the xbox over PS5 but I guess Starfield is a big pull.
THE OFFICIAL GODD HOWARD MACHINE

I literally have never heard the fan at all even in the summer
thermal design is pretty impressive

I'm not.
I am happy with my Series S, though.
