Another soulshomosexual that's comparing it to his soulslop. It is the most hyped armored core game ever and it will be the best selling armored core game ever, maybe even the best selling mecha ever.
>play 4A >entire game is geared to reward gottagofast >run big boy AMERICA mech anyway >missle spam to bait a blade dash >superior armor takes the damage like a champ >counter punch OHK with the exploding spike >heh nuthin personal kid
I am hype incarnate
Trying to play Armored Core 1 and I feel like I'm getting filtered. I'm just trying to come to grips with the game and I still don't feel like I'm quite getting it. Still not used to the controls even after some configuration but I'll keep trying.
right now my biggest issues are >boosting right now is very short lived, I'd imagine doing more missions will unlock better boost parts. >moving the camera is way too slow, especially when trying to boost
Also I have no idea what half the upgrades entail, there's a frickton of terminology that I just don't understand for some parts.
Learn to slidehop, it will dramatically improve your energy efficiency. You have to tap boost, tap jump, and boost when you land. Of done correctly you will bw moving like a kangaroo.
Turning speed is a stat, use nimbler legs to turn faster.
>You have to tap boost, tap jump, and boost when you land.
Arent boost and jump the same button? Would I be double tapping in this case?
It's more commonly called boost hopping back in the day. The idea is that the energy it takes to get off the ground is less than the energy you will regenerate as you fall back down, so you're moving at 66~75% of your max ground speed but with net positive energy. The vertical movement also helps with evasion.
When you let go of the boost button and press it again, it converts a horizontal ground boost into a liftoff. That is the hop. The trick is to boost, hop, then let go so that you continue flying up through inertia, then just before you land you hit boost again to soften the landing and return to a horizontal ground boost. Repeat ad infinitum, this is the bread and butter movement skill for the entirety of Generation 1 through 3. The exact timing will depend on your parts but you'll figure that out on your own.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon (2023) is an upcoming FromSoftware title that blends the third-person, mecha-combat action fans of the series know and love with the Strand-like genre first popularized by creator Hideo Kojima. Set in the distant future on a post-apocalyptic Earth ravaged by war, play as a member of a mercenary resistance group fighting to reconnect and save the world. Undertake dangerous missions piloting your fully-customizable Armored Core mech, delivering precious cargo between cities hidden deep underground. Use the geography of the world to outsmart your enemies and complete your deliveries safely, or purchase weapon, armor, and other vehicle upgrades to annihilate them in combat. Work with other pilots who might leave valuable resources or structures for you to use via the online Strand system, or increase your social credit score by building infrastructure and leaving items for others. And uncover the mystery of unseen, possibly-supernatural forces hell-bent on wiping out what little life remains on Earth. Tomorrow is in your hands, Pilot.
>"The name's Flames. Ruby Connor Flames. " >"Nice to meet you Ruby. The name's Corey. Do you have any A.R.M.O.R. like I do?" >"I don't need A.R.M.O.R. My fires are what protects me. I'm not some Armored Core."
Oh boy I can't wait for more anime flying Gundam things quick boosting around the skybox. Can we please get something like Chromehounds something that is more grounded and mechanical?
i feel kinda bad for the real dudes out there that actually liked AC and played it for years
they're gonna get called secondaries by tertiaries, and accused of never playing the games they're fans of
Thr op image is just a meme. Maybe just because of the trailer, I dont really know. There is no Death Stranding x AC project but Armored Core VI is real and coming out this year
No idea lmfao I'll probably be trying a couple games this year

The older games look fun enough but man the 6's trailer looks fricking sick. But the same could be said for thr older games trailers. I'm really hoping 6 as a game can back up the trailer still, I'm looking forward to seeing gameplay.
Nah, real dudes have physical copies of the games. Real dudes probably have played many mecha games and even have mecha model kits. It's easy to tell a soulsgay and true acfan apart.
Thank you. Is armoured core worth playing?
Yes, although many get filtered from ac1 so I recommend ac2 to start with, the PS2 games are the meat of the series.
>hours thread >35 posts
This should tell you enough about it
AC wasnt popular, mechs werent and arent popular, much less mech games. Fromsoft having their banks filled with souls cash to make this pet project wont change that.
It will be akin to a less popular Sekiro, sell well at first, have a cult following but overall not as profitable as their cashcow.
>AC wasnt popular, mechs werent and arent popular, much less mech games.
Aside from such a black hole of popularity, it's such a ballsy move on From's side to try to release this right after their biggest hit that is Elden Ring instead of just leaving it to dust forever, i kinda respect that.
Oh, dont get me wrong, i feel the same way, any lesser company would just lay low in their comfort zone and innovate juuuust enough to not lose their costumers out of boredom GF, and im happy they are doing it.
But i wont lie or delude myself or others, i wasnt an AC fan before they released the trailer and probably will stay the same way (just not a fan of shooters in general) and this is a selfish vanity project by them, they fricking know this wont make the genre or the series popular and will only sell fine-ish as it will because of their name, they just want to visit their roots and make some cool fricking robots even if it wont be popular and it certainly wont revive AC more than beyond this one title, expect the next game in the next decade at best if ACfans are lucky.
For all this reasons i hope its a game that is good FOR the fans of the series.
Not really ballsy, they risk nothing and have a lot to gain. They will make many soulslaves into ac fans, they will at least try the game. More importantly mecha is easier to merchandise than souls, model kits are a big thing and make a lot of money. They are so financially successful that a year or 2 setback on the next soulslop won't be a problem.
Im kinda dooming over Miyazaki not directing it. What even is FromSoft when not under his direction? He's done literally every single From game since 2005 and the only one he didn't was Dark Souls 2 lol
I remember looking at an ad for AC2 in a Target catalogue as a kid. Never did play it though.
Needless to say, as a person who is tangentially aware of the series but has played DS1 and Elden Ring, I am the target audience.
Really hyped. I have a great big nostalgia boner for AC2.
Armored. Fricking. Souls.
You guys don't even like AC, you just hyping it because you're a Dark Soul cringe and it's Miyazaki latest
Miyazaki's not directing this one. It's not going to live up to the hype and flop
Another soulshomosexual that's comparing it to his soulslop. It is the most hyped armored core game ever and it will be the best selling armored core game ever, maybe even the best selling mecha ever.
Delusional. AC6 will be DS2 tier goyslop
I went and played AC1 on emulator the week after the announcement
Armored core is kinda great and I hate that I didn't bother trying it until then
you wont like this. but i have to do it. get ready. its ur last chance.
Armored Core has always sucked so I assume this is also gonna suck.
Armored Core has always ruled so I assume this is also gonna rule.

If you use Retroarch you can rebind them to move and look around with the analogs.
The controls won’t be good under any circumstances until you upgrade your mech into something that controls well. It’s part of the game.

it hasn't aged well at all, don't feel bad
If they don't make it more like souls it's gonna suck
All top soulsborne streamers are getting into Armored Core now. What do we think?
League, ORCA, or Old King?
DS with a mech buddy does sound fun
When I see gameplay my hype will be over the edge. So far optimistically cautious
Kojima has never made a good game

It’s the only game I’ve looked forward to since MGSV. Let’s hope this isn’t a similar disaster, which made me quit gaming for 2 years.
the trailer is fricking kino
but i don't care about mecha games to be h
i will revisit the trailer
I want a new metal gear
Imagine if the game has fetch quests
Haven't played armored core, the webms I've seen look kind of like playing fencer in EDF. Is it actually like that or just a few similar animations?
>"The name's Flames. Ruby Connor Flames. "

I thought death stranding was like a postman game where you larped as a postman. What's all this shit about mechs? Did I miss something cool?
>Ganker suddenly pretends to like AC
lol
lmao
i feel kinda bad for the real dudes out there that actually liked AC and played it for years

What are you frickers talking about? Is AC getting waylaid by Death Stranding or what's going on?

I'm a zoomer, all the fromsoft mecha I know is the chromehounds I played as a little kid; does Armored Core have customization as in-depth?

He was part of early formative development, so I'm sure the core gameplay will be good.
Why aren't we playing Hawken?
I HECKIN LOOOOOOVE DARK SOULS ROBOTS I WAS THERE WHEN THEY MADE THE FIRST ARMORED SOULS GAME WAITING IN LINE BOOMER BROSSSS
batchest
Sure. I love Rubicon
I hope its gay as frick
>Bloodborne but it's robots this time
Frick off nuFrom
that sounds even better than what its probably going to be
Can't wait to get into crippling debt again.
I am very hyped despite never having played a single AC game.
They're garbage
t. played 4A and VD
You played the worst ones gay. Play the good ones.
Playing 4A. Can't play the game for more than 15-20 mins
The AC manoeuvre gives me motion sickness.
How do i fix this.
You might like the slower games more. The speed of Gen 4 is Hate It or Love It in my experience.
I remember looking at an ad for AC2 in a Target catalogue as a kid. Never did play it though.
Needless to say, as a person who is tangentially aware of the series but has played DS1 and Elden Ring, I am the target audience.
So yes. I am hyped.
I hope it gets delayed so that I'll have more time to play the eight (8) Armored Core games in my backlog.
First game was bad, why would I like this one? More playstation hypetrain. It always ends in crushing disappointment.
I am hyped.
I will not preorder.
I will wait to see gameplay, until the first patch, and a sale as well, before purchasing.
I only have a ps4 and Xbox one should I get a newer system to play this on?
