PS2 emulation is better than ever. I know what I'm talking about, I've put almost 1500 hours into PCSX2 last year.
i tried the nightly version to run a few favorites of mine and it ran like shit. Maybe i just picked a a handful of games that don't run well yet though.
Name them. I've 100 completed over 50 games last year and I've only had issues with Tomb Raider Legend's ghosting effect, and Juiced not being emulated very well.

Check the PCSX2 wiki, I guess. I have like 700 games stored so, If I want to check how something runs, I just try it out for 20 mins or so.
To be fair PCSX2 is still largely a piece of shit held together with duct tape hacks and work arounds, they've just made it so those hacks get applied automatically so the end user doesn't realise

Use the PS3 emulator and play the Ratchet and Clank Trilogy release, just like with God of War 1 and 2 and Shadow of the Colossus, they run better and look better when using the PS3 emulator.
They relied on dogshit hacky garbage and shit like that for like over a decade. They wanted game x to be playable so they pushed shit ton of garbage into code and so pcsx2 became bloated garbage using hacks to make games run. Pcsx2 would need to be started from scratch at this point to become really good.

3 runs fine, you can play it entirely with no problems. Ascension is a disaster tho
It’s a great game, probably the best one in the series. Those first five games were all good fun. GOW3 has the least varied locations but still looks pretty spectacular, especially for a PS3 game. The other games had more platforming than 3 did from what I remember
I prefer 2 over 3 but it's still a really fun and entertaining game from beginning to end. They went nuts with the scope in the best possible way.
3 is a good game but doesn't feel like an epic adventure. Even most "bosses" arent even real battles and just quick time events like Helios and Hermes. Cronos is also basically just a level instead of a boss fight
GoW 1-2 are cool adventures with the most kino setting in fiction

By frame dips, you mean under 30 FPS? If you cap it at 30, you'd be able to play it at the same framerate it runs on PS3, sure. But I want to get a NASA PC so I can replay these games at like 120 FPS, if possible. No hardware allows for that yet. Hopefully 15th gen gets the job done.

Unlocked framerate jumps from 30-60 depending on scene. Locked 30 is perfectly fine rarely if ever see a dip

Main devs dropped Xenia long time ago and its currently maintained by contributors while rpcs3 has core full time team for years and contributors working on it on top of that. Im just happy that Ninja Gaiden 2 is playable would love first Crackdown too.

Honestly I never expected it to ever get decent emulation, it was a nightmare for devs to program for the ps3 let alone some randos emulating it. I consider the emulator in it’s current state to be a goddamn miracle tbh.
xenia makes red dead redemption work out of the box, RPCS3 still get slowdowns, missing textures and shadows and crashes no matter what your setup is, it's a roulette every time you boot it up. Why someone would fanboy for an emulator is beyond me.

wasn't a thing until last year and the point stil lstands, RPSC3 is good for PS3 exclusives, xenia is the best bet when it comes to multiplats because it doesn't require visiting a wiki to attempt to make a game playable. All 3 Ratchet & Clank games are prone to randomly crashing and it's not a CPU or memory problem, the game will freeze and force quit whenever it feels like.
I played through 2 ratchet games on rpcs3 without any problems on dogshit i5 9400f lol. Never crashed
There's custom patches you can use to help with the crashing at least. A Crack in Time still has performance issues and crashes though.
