Monster Hunter World allowed you to heal while moving, running even, with absolutely no penalty in terms of effect. This alone FUNDAMENTALLY changes everything about Monster Hunter and it is definitely the worst offender but not the only one.
Re-stocking items mid quest made proper preparation completely optional.
No gunner armors and the existence of Bone weapons was also lazy as shit. Whatever amount of resources that they spent on the story would have been much better used there instead.

They learned that going all in on AAA scale games to chase after western money backfires hard if you're not already a behemoth. Modern Capcom now has a steady stream of low to mid budget titles to keep IPs alive while they put out the occasional big name release.
So let's resume their business plan :
- SF6 (market a 1 million tournament to avoid any flop)
- Resident Evil (Remake, remake, remake...)
- Mega Man (transform a failed Gacha into your next main Game aka Mega Man X Dive Offline)
- Dragon's Dogma 2 (no online co-op is sad but still... It's good for nostalgiabros singleplayer I guess)
- Ace Attorney (Remake? Feels poor man, make a new MC already)
- Pragmata (Delayed from 2022 to 2023 and delayed once again from 2023 to ????, we saw gameplay and characters so It's not as bad as Metroid 4 but...)
- Phantom Detective, Exoprimal and whatever (I don't really care about them but I think people just wanted Dino Crisis 1 and not Exoprimal Battle pass)

I dunno how to feel about this. On one hand I'm glad that the direction Dino Crisis 3 was taken in has been made into its own thing. On the other, it points to Capcom burying the survival horror tone the first game had which is what I liked the most (basically Resident Evil but with dinosaurs and cheesy 80's action hero humour). I have to commend Capcom for giving it a brand new name. Calling it DIno Crisis 4 would have gone down like a lead balloon.
Capcom can keep making new IPs tangentally related to the old ones as far as I'm concerned. I'm not trying to see them bring back Darkstalkers, Power Stone or Cyberbots and have them look as sterile and boring as most of their new catalog. Path of the Goddess looked cool and close enough to being Onimusha without being called Onimusha and that works for me.
I was hoping for a remake of Dino Crisis 1 like the recent Resident Evil remakes. The good thing with Exoprimal is that it clearly shows a divorce of that gameplay from Dino Crisis, so the idea of an official Dino Crisis game returning like that are extremely slim now.
I'm just irritated they clearly have an npc that's meant to be inspired by Regina but she's too fricking ugly for the reference.
