I had never seen a Blissey with Block before. I kept Starmie to check what bliss would do before changing to something appropriate. I couldn't just switch to a physical attacker right away because it could get t-waved.
>opponent sends out a blissey >you have infernape >"let me send out starmie and spam nonstab tbolt"
moron-sama…….. i……. i kneel……
Since I have to spell it out for you...
I had Heatran on the field when he switched to Blissey. There was no reason to not expect a thunder wave on the next turn. Since he used Substitute on the switch it was even less safe to switch to Infernape.
Its just very confusing. Did your starmie have a lum berry, if so and it got para'd and ate it then what was your plan? Was your infernape not a typical suicide lead? You still tried to break the sub with t bolt and got played for it. And like
> Had zero offensive presence, 70% the substitute PP it had was wasted using it when the substitute was already set, had zero chances of forcing a struggle contest due to 64 PP rapid spin
The real question is why you gave up?
mentioned you could have used rapid spin to avoid pp stall and having no pp in your better moves.
On the turn of the switch, the goal was to make starmie eat whatever move blissey would use (since in my view the most probable next move would be t-wave) then switch to something else.
Then, as soon as i saw the substitute, i got curious because i had never seen a Blissey with subs before. I kept Starmie to see what it would do next, so that i would strike out possible moves bliss could have and make a safer switch. Of course, if i had any idea blisseys could have Block I wouldn't have done that lol.
Anyway, as long as this strategy keeps being as rare as it is, it shouldn't be a problem.
But I don’t get why you wanted your Starmie to get crippled as well when your Infernape was already crippled by scarf and would have been a much better counter to the Blissey especially since Infernape is pretty hard to switch into

In offensive play type affinities actually matter meaning you have to adapt your strat to your opponent, with stall the only thing you have to account for is noooo it’s immune to toxic :cccc

Every stallmon runs HDB anyway. And that shit is so broken that Smogon has tried banning it on several occasions only to get overridden by the stallgay council.

Um... Did you see the part where it regained the leppa berry with recycle, meaning he could stall infinitely until my Starmie would die to struggle? Of course this didn't necessarily meant a loss, but naturally I'd rather not waste my time with this.
How did you let yourself get trapped by a Blissey? How did you not immediately switch to a physical attackers? You deserve this for thinking you could outsmart him with Natural Cure shenanigans.
Infernape was a suicide lead crippled with a scarf
He should've 100% switched to infernape after blissey setup the substitute, Starmie is not breaking that sub, there's literally no reason to stay and get blocked
On the turn of the switch, the goal was to make starmie eat whatever move blissey would use (since in my view the most probable next move would be t-wave) then switch to something else.

It was the WORST play. Even if it was a regular seismic toss blissey you're just allowong free damage on your starmie and you keep getting into a worse position.
Even if it were a meme Calm Mind set you're allowing free setup.
I love how apparently no one got that what OP's complaining isn't that he was outplayed, but that it's allowed to use a set designed to make the game as excruciatingly slow as possible

Why did you stay in to thunder bolt a substitute/soft boiled blissey? You deserved it lol.

Well. You achieved that...and you were punished for that.

Oh no not a thunder wave on an already choice locked mon that would outspeed and ohko blissey anyway

I didnt see the recycle as i stopped watching, my bad

It wouldn't get crippled, because of Natural Cure

Low ladder game. You wouldn't understand.
How did you let yourself get trapped by a Blissey? How did you not immediately switch to a physical attackers? You deserve this for thinking you could outsmart him with Natural Cure shenanigans.
I thought that one Slowbro set Showderp used to run got Recycle+Leppa Berry banned? Was it just that whole set specifically?
no, just the institution of infinite battle clause, which doesn't apply since starmie wouldn't heal
Yes, funbro was killed. That blissey is an off brand weaker version of that.
Funbro used healpulse to prevent the enemy from dying kek.
Why did you switch to starmie like a moron instead of a physical attacker?
OP come improve on Mt moon and prove these Black folk wrong https://discord.gg/bdSS7msA
I love how these threads are always made by low-ELO shitters.
No one who wants to switch a physical attacker into a Thunder Wave plays the game BTW

You say like it's a common move for blisseys to have, that most players are able to predict
Blissey didn't twave on the starmie switch in, so there's literally no reason to keep starmie there.
Why keep a mon that can't break the sub?
See
But I understand that it wasn't the best play

Yeah, I get it now. Thanks for the tip

Your fault for playing showdown anyway
