It’s pretty good. Whispers in the Walls is one of the best updates in years. It’s still an autistic Skinner box with next to no endgame and thus next to no reason to actually participate in the infinite grinds, tho.

Every new character in the last 3 updates is Ordis, the gameplay is a little better but overall still fundamentally broken, they still let Lyger ruin the premium skins, to the point where on the last devstream they showed Lyger's last skin and not only was everyone in the room uncomfortable and silent, but Rebecca and Steve both said "Can we show this on stream?" and not as a joke, because it's literally a naked guy with a huge dick and nipple clamps
Fricking hell they need to stop letting Lyger design shit. Get some new blood into the mix already instead of the homosexual that gave us that abomination of a Valkyr skin.

The writing falls off a cliff when you pick up the drifter is because the quest was literally rewritten at least 5 times since its announcement (at least according to Steve).
In one of his Soulframe streams he said that the original plan would've included 3 story updates spread throughout 2020 but the state of Railjack's launch and the eventual shitshow that was Scarlet Spear basically killed those plans. Those would've been act 1 (basically what we got) which would lead into Scarlet Spear, then act 2 (which had the most rewrites). Act 2 basically got turned into Heart of Deimos and Orphix Venom. Finally the story would culminate in act 3, the sentient ship raid and confrontation with Erra and Ballas, which also went through several rewrites but the end result is mostly the same as the original plan.

you can have played for 500 hours 6 years ago and log on now and be at the same power level as everyone else

The new team is actually making improvements and fixing old shit. They also added a bunch of alternate ways to grind for stuff, like normal frames and arcanes.
Game feels much smoother to progress now.

I like it quite a lot. Same game more power creep. Movement and Shooting still feel fricking incredible so I like it as a chill out and commit war crimes game. Basically my Borderlands replacement. Perfect for no brain murder sprees.

Nope, Reb got the wheel cca one year before it was public, which means new war and beyond was all her doing
both said Angels of Zariman was her first ever update done from scratch so The New War is effectively Steve's swan song for the game
