I still don't get why people are so pissed about these films never releasing. They're baby movies (or manbaby movies in the case of Batwoman or whatever). How do you look at that picture and not understand that this is a movie for five year olds?

For me, its not that these specific movies aren't releasing. Its that the practice of letting a movie finish production and then trashing it is insane. And then WB took it further and revived one project and shipped it around to potential buyers, only to refuse to work with those buyers despite them agreeing to WB's terms and then decided to double-cancel the project.

Its a terrible practice and should be nipped in the bud, regardless of what movies fell victim to it.

I don't care one bit about Batwoman but I'd still like to see Coyote. I mean, it won't destroy my life if I can't but it's a lot more appealing than Space Jam 2.

It's weird that a 100% completed movie that is ready to be viewed is instead shelved.

It would make more sense if it was something like 40% done and they pulled the plug instead of waste more money on it

      >There were reports that Warners would be getting a $30 million tax write-off for shelving “Coyote vs Acme”’ The film is said to have had very good test scores. It tested many months ago and ended up playing very well with audiences. It scored 14 points above the average for a family movie and its final score, reportedly, was in the high 90s.

      >According to The Wrap, “Coyote vs Acme” is now expected to be shelved and deleted forever. Warner Bros wanted $75M-$80M for the film and rejected offers from Netflix, Amazon & Paramount, refusing to let them counter-offer.

      >Netflix expressed interest, but “at less than half the $70 million production cost”. This led to the streamer backing out of the bidding. Sony and Apple are also not interested anymore. Meanwhile, Paramount and Amazon made some offers, but they “weren’t high enough”. So, now, more than likely, the film will end up being scrapped by Warners, which was their original intent before heated backlash occurred last November.
Zaslav is unironically one of the scummiest corpos around and the tax write off shit is an outright scam. by all accounts the other interested parties were willing to pay way more than what it cost or to write off but they said no presumably due to seething that they might've been wrong to can it in the first place

    >Didn't shitcan Suicide Squad (game) despite there being no chance in hell it'll make any money back

By all accounts the film tested well with audiences and they got offered enough money by streaming platforms to have made the film a financial success, but none of the offers were satisfactory to WB execs who had hoped for easily twice what they were offered, so they shitcanned it.

Meanwhile they push a certified turd like Suicide Squad out to completion.

I'm convinced WB is staffed by absolute mongoloid morons.

oh sure, it probably will be some shit, and if we see it, Zaslav would probably brag about how right he was once he gets whiff of the negative backlash,

but that doesnt justify his actions, from trying to steal money from the government, i.e.: Tax evasion, to EVEN REFUSING TO ACTUALLY WATCH THE MOVIE TO EVEN JUDGE IF ITS ACTUALLY BAD OR NOT!

that alone makes it just unforgivable.

It's pretty amazing how nintendo has the strongest nostalgia appeal by far of any major company but just refuse to sell old shit. If you slapped on a rom of like Mario 64 or OoT onto every console for $9.99 on anything they made it would absolutely sell.

      >terranigma PAL only
I bought and played that on my NTSC SNES back when it was new. You just need to fit a single resistor and a toggle switch to enable/disable that resistor. All PAL SNES games with the speed check can be played like that
Also you can _easily_ pirate it in a multitude of ways, even on unmodified hardware

I work at a smaller studio, there are three by my count in the short time I have worked there. And all three are due to C-Suite level frickery and suits cancelling other suits projects for mostly spite, and not wanting someone else's project to actually get big and make more money than their own project.
