I doubt it'll top 2 and 7 but it will top 3 at least
every bad RE game tops re7
Why the hate for 7? 6 if anything was the worst
lol nope. RE7 and EVERY single nu-RE afterwards somehow managed to top even RE6 (which was a fine game on its own), and attract the worst kind of zoomies and normalhomosexuals to the franchise.
Resident Evil has been a normalgay series since day 1.
lol nope. Normies literally did not give a frick about vidya before post 9/11 days. Even the most dudebro gamer guy was several steps more "nerdy" than the absolute Walmart mouthbreathers that have swarmed the market now.
He's not wrong.
Shut the frick up moron
RE is the most normie fricking franchise ever made and the fact that you act like your special for playing it just shows how much of a normie you really are.
This. lol what's next, Tomb Raider is a hidden gem?
cringe and moronic take
Absolutely based take and nothing more needs to be said.
True but nuRE is even more normie.
If you bring up people liking a thing as the reason a thing is bad, your argument is shit.
And I mean if you bring it up at any point whatsoever. It betrays your bias and you are an ass.
Now, don't reply to me.
re7 is a shallow walking simulator for streamers and 1 enemy type
>Walking simulator
>Enemy type
moron
>where do I go and what I do need to take with me
just with that 7 has more mental exertion than 4
yea but at least 4 has fun and more than 1 enemy
>re7 is a shallow walking simulator
Your boring waifu will never get a new game btw.
Are Becca gays STILL salty based Ethan cheated her out of a game appearance?
yes, I hate that autistic frick
Rebeccagays have always been the worst Black folk in these threads
Not him but Ethangays are easily worse. They managed to be bigger c**ts in a fraction of the time.
they also make cring images like this
imagine being this triggered by rebecca
The game would be way better if it ended after the last Jack fight tbh
>re7 is a walking simulator
Did you play RE1?
It's somewhat new and popular and saved the series so contrarians have to pretend franchise killing garbage like 6 and stagnating forgettable nothing games like 5 were actually really good.
I can't say for 6 cus I didn't play it but 5 made for good ridicule material with a buddy at least.
Frick that volcano fight though.
Felt less of a boss fight and more of a "and now *you* go" section what with the game constantly fricking mis-sequencing.
Otherwise fun time driving backwards in the swamp boat.
After a number of games they should have a firm grasp on the RE Engine now, they should know what made it good and what to 'tweak' but not change too much. The general consensus about REmake 2 for example is that it was fairly good but they seemed to drop the ball on the zapping system. REmake 3 was...something. They changed way too fricking must but it sold well enough.
The thing is Capcom noticed this too, supposedly they listened well to the criticism 3 got and the 'B Team' that did REmake 3 was going to make a 1:1 of Remake 4 so as to not frick it up again but that was apparently moved to the team who did REmake 2 so they can do the 'familiar yet fresh' thing again.
It was one of the more plausible sounding 'leaks' that came through here but of course gain of salt with that. There was another 'leaker' who mentioned some things like Luis and Krauser would be changed, and 'three bosses would be removed' but that might have been more bullshit.
>removed bosses
Why
You can remove the dual El Gigante fight and I wont like to but itll be fine, the rest are mostly unique fights that the game is lesser without. They gonna temove the Krauser qtes and just make a cutscene?
its the remake team
so look forward to half the bosses being cut or at best turned into a movies, the castle being cut entirely, there being no plagas at all just basic ganados, and half the guns being removed
I've only played 4, 5 and 6.
Man I am not excited for this at all. Wish they remade Veronica or Zero, 4 is already a close to perfect game
>Wish they remade Veronica or Zero
bad games don't get remakes
They should. Really remakes should be for flawed games that had interesting ideas
Except there were no interesting ideas in CV or 0.
They tried to do no item boxes and controlling two characters, which is something new. However, it just didn't work in practice. The room became your item box, and playing as Billy was the better choice because he has more health. If they ever remade it they might just make it a co-op game like RE5.
The island section really kinda blows compared to the village and castle. The regenerators are the only thing they should keep from that part of the game.
>Zero remake
Nobody wants this and no one ever will. Complete waste of resources, time and money. I like RE0 btw.
RE4 is an odd game though. It's basically fun in spite of being an incredibly bad game:
>literal corridor levels
>moronic throwaway plot about rescuing a literal princess
>1 action button for dozens of moves
>QTEs out the ass
>many of said QTEs consist of mashing 1 button like mad.
>is a third person shooter with tank controls, long after that was no longer the standard
>piss easy difficulty level
>rips off a ton of other games, like SOTN, MGS2, MGS3, Dragon's Lair, Winback and more.
>is somehow still the most fun thing ever released.
Like... HOW!?
This remake will NEVER accomplish this. I really feel like they're making a massive mistake here.
You know linear games can be good right? Kek this is the kind of shit I find on Ganker.
summer tourists, anon
they think linear = bad and open world = good
they're the reasons vidya is dying even faster
>>piss easy difficulty level
you do know the game gets easier the worse you are and harder the better you are?
How many times did you die in the first fight?
So much cope
The game gets harder, but every fight boils down to lobbing grenades and vaporizing everything with powered up weapons. Not to mention using 1 handgun bullet to knock an entire mob on their asses, giving you all the time in the world to escape or kill en mass.
The only way the game can be hard is if you go out of your way to make it hard. Like SOTN.
it may be corridors but getting rammed via corridor still hurts.
Frick some of those island levels, I earned my fricking thompson and still gotta pay for it.
I bet you don't even get the laser in the remake or if you do it will tickle the enemies like that shitsaber in 8.
At least I can just boot up the original on my PS2 or emulate or something rather than pay 50 for some trickle of fecal matter capcom offers me
corridor levels
so?
throwaway plot about rescuing a literal princess
so what? it's a game not a fricking book
>>1 action button for dozens of moves
so?
>>QTEs out the ass
only RE game where QTE's are actually fun, Krauser fight was kino
>>many of said QTEs consist of mashing 1 button like mad.
see above
>>is a third person shooter with tank controls, long after that was no longer the standard
the standard is gay and the compact over the shoulder style with stiff controls makes you feel grounded and powerful
>>piss easy difficulty level
quit dying
>>rips off a ton of other games, like SOTN, MGS2, MGS3, Dragon's Lair, Winback and more.
how does emulating great qualities from other products make the game worse?
>>is somehow still the most fun thing ever released.
Yes because they made shooting things actually fun
shooting homosexuals in the legs and making them trip and shooting sticks of dynamites in their hands is the epitome of fun
>long after that was no longer the standard
wrong
It will sell gangbusters by legacy and hype alone
They really have to frick up to make RE4 sell less than REmake2 or RE8
>Huh People with Uteruses..
>Better remake and old game, cuz that one's getting old.
Re4 is proof we need gatekeeping. Classic RE >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> nu-re (starting with re4)
Yeah man, because RE was an obscure niche series up until then. It's not like RE1 and 2 sold close to 6m copies each.
its not about popularity moron, its the games becoming like the other millions of action games out there. re4 started this cancer
We need gatekeeping but starting with RE1 PSX. The number of times I've seen low IQ monkeys recommend REmake over the original PSX game. Play RESIDENT EVIL THE DIRECTORS CUT FOR PLAYSTATION 1 first before going anywhere please, the remake changes so many things, it's a great games but it plays with expectations it wants to subvert the shit out of the original RE player why do people IGNORE THIS FACT EXPLAIN YOURSELF homosexualS
how will they butcher him?
by removing him from the game.
I think encounters like that will be the one area where the remake excels, elevating the horror.
im more excited for the re1 remake
who else uses the /basedloadout/?
>tommy gun not right underneath the PRL
you're triggering my autism
>/basedloadout/
>Not full of bass
Pathetic
If we can't use the bass as weapons in RE4make I will be livid. Who am I kidding they will remove the fish entirely
Eh with hope they can make it like RE8.Fish for upgrades instead of the yellow herb.
>weapons aren't upside down
ngmi
that loadout would be fine to get if some characters in merc didn't fricking suck to play as.
This is mostly only a problem on that sea platform(?) level.
That big giga homie chainsaw guy annoys the frick out of me.
Yea I know hunk isn't tall enough to neck crack him but if leon can suplex heads apart then hunk can crack necks fast enough to break the sound barrier.
>outsell 7
Maybe in 20 years time
>Maybe in 20 years time
REmake 2 is only 800,000 copies behind RE7 despite the fact that 7 has a two year head start over it
I have played 2,3,7 and 8 but not 4 and have no desire to. I have no idea why, probably just a subconscious hipster
You're missing out big time
Don't let such a silly reason keep you from playing a good game.
Probably not. They pissed off too many people RE3 remake and Village.
>and Village
Na. No one was really disappointed with that
You're categorically wrong, gay.
I have played other entires in the Resident Evil series. Hope this helps OP.
Ethan makes this board seethe so hard
do you just go through life imagining how epically trolled everyone is whenever they have criticised you?
yes
seeing how just posting Ethan pics causes butt hurt here yes
I don't really care because it turns out capcom making his game third person is more devastating to Ethangays than him literally dying ever was.
*RE4tards have been fully exposed as hypocrites because they think RE=third person
Seeing as all but two mainline resident evil games have been third person it's not that wild. And now one of those first person mainline games can soon be played in third person anyway. They should do 7 next.
>They should do 7 next.
They only did 3rd person for the dlc and easily ported it from that to the main game. Resident Evil is first person forever now.
holy fricking cope.
Chris, Jill and Ada are in their 60s now. Leon likely has died because of alcohol poisoning. Meanwhile the Ethan lineage is fully alive and Rose is the most powerful person alive who terrified 4 nearly unkillable bioweapons. Ethan kings have won.
Nothing you just wrote has anything to do with how first person is being made optional in Village.
>4 unkillable bioweapons
you mean 4 of the biggest jobber bosses in the franchise?
Miranda was unkillable in all ways until she tried to force Eveline and her to join together when Rose drained her power
Moreau only died because he wasn't wet
Donna was suicidal
Ethan scraped by Heisenberg who didn't even want to kill Ethan
Alcina died to a fantasy knife
Fanboy cope
If they are such a jobbers why Chris Redfield and his team hide like b***hes from then whole game?
>plan attack
>bumbling moron self-insert character wanders in and fricks everything up
Ethan wanders in and fricks everything up
because Chris fricked up in his first mission killing Miranda
Also Chris never nedded to plan a attack.RE6 Chris would have punched the lords and blow up Miranda with a jet
Ada have asian genes and Jill could show up if they use her infection as excuse of her being young. There is Sherry too.
>Fat b***h face on that body
I fricking hate this generation of vidya blender porn
>making his game third person is more devastating to Ethangays than him literally dying ever was.
What? why would anyone care about that it changes nothing.
Are you being wilfully ignorant or were you not here for Village's reveal? The game being first person was a massive topic of conversation and one Ethan gays said was only to the benefit of Resident Evil atmosphere and gameplay.
Does it? For months around the game people had a jolly old time with him
Those were happy threads, who is getting ass blasted by Ethan? You sure you aren’t thinking of Reddit? Try going back.
Yep Ethan has been the best Evil character yet people prefer teen angst personified Leon to him
rebecca makes millions seeth.
while ethan only makes thousands
Only the worst marvel tier oiboys can possibly like how Ethan is written. Oh wait that is the horde of normalgays that consume these shitty nuREs.
>Oh wait that is the horde of normalgays that consume these shitty nuREs.
Resident evil has been hyper mainstream since the beginning. When i was a kid it was impossible to not know what Resident Evil 2 was.
It's different now. Back then RE was good and praised. Now it's bad and praised.
The old cast is the closest of marvel tier heroes tough.
>Status quo for then will never change
>Leons quips alot in RE4
>Chris and Leon are pretty much super heroes without reason
>Jill already has the case of ´´die and coming back`` comic trope.
At least Ethan died for good and his daughter will take over.
>Ethan died for good
You don't actually believe that, do you?
Sorry, but
you okay ESL-kun?
4 was my first, so I suppose I have nostalgia for it like I don't for any of the others.
However, I didn't buy any of the remasters, and I don't plan to. Perhaps on a whim if there's a significant sale.
i played resident evil 4 for the first time in my life TODAY on the PS2 emulator. i should have played it sooner, i thought to myself, why should i play this garbage there's no racoon city. it looks boring. i was wrong
>emulating a PC game
This. Even the old PC version shits on the PS2 one. (plus you can mod it)
Why would you emulate the worst version?
soul
At least emulate the Wii version. It has all the soul with none of the drawbacks.
the one thing that kind of bothered me was the camera other then that it was great
4, and 7 are probably them most played RE games for people who don't play RE games, 5 is up there too.
5 is still the best selling entry of the series and was capcom's best selling game for a decade. That's the #1 games non-RE fans play.
Maybe during the Xbox 360 generation. But currently, any non RE fan who is getting into the series will pick 5, probably because of the b***hes in the fan base who tell them it's a shit game.
Shit, I meant to say won't pick 5.
Maybe. But I feel like younger people don't listen to fan bases anymore. And RE5 is the second most ported entry as well. So it's available on every modern platform.
It probably won't be a lot of people's first RE anymore (which would now be 7, 8 or REmake 2) but a lot of them still grab it and like it just fine.
I very rarely see batching about it anymore.
I've only ever played 4, and I did it only a few months ago. and no I'm not a zoomer, I'm 30 years old
RE4 is not a zoomer game. Period. It is a game of it's time, and the average zoomer will despise that. If you disagree you are a coping classicgay and a moron.
I tried playing the RE games before RE4, and they suck. Too slow, too boring, etc.
RE4 was great. RE5 was good. RE 6 was just awful. About an hour into it, I stopped.
I have played REmake, RE4, RE5, RE2Remake
that's cool anon, which one did you like the most
4
what's your favourite:
>section
>gun
>dialogue/throwaway line
>most hated enemy but still cool
You scared him away.
damn, I just wanted to know what they liked about 4.
Wbu anon, got any wacky tales or cool bits about 4 or some other game you liked.
I'm one of those people who didn't like RE4 when it was new, but I can recognize it as a enjoyable game with likeable characters and over-the-top combat animations. Regenerators weren't a big deal to me since I just blasted them with a shotgun and ran past them until I got the item to see their weak spot. I found the sewer area with the invisible chimera enemies scarier.
The last RE I played was RE5, which I feel the same way about as RE4, so I haven't been the target audience for over a decade. I've seen people play RE6, but I know very little about anything RE7 and later except people being made of moss or something and not being able to die.
RE3 is my favorite.
I can appreciate liking the older re games.
Been emulating re1 recently and it's been kicking my c**t in bc I can't dodge the zombies in the corridor that well nor can I aim the nade launcher for shit.
Cool atmosphere though, and ofc the dialogue cracks me up. Fricking barry with his magnum FRICKING GUN
That gif looks cool, nice colours, nice tanking that rocket to the face anon, hope you got better.
What was it like seeing re4 come out? I didn't play re4 myself until like 4-ish years ago. I imagine it's difficult to judge something like cultural impact or general longevity initially right?
The camera angle being the biggest difference, but also RE4 turned the series into a total action game, which was the natural progression of the series. RE3 has a lot of action, and Code Veronica is extremely action heavy. Besides that, RE4 is linear compared to all the previous entries. You have only one possible exit, and usually you must clear all the enemies to unlock the door to advance. In all the previous games you have some leeway that you can explore to find what you need to advance, and in some cases like in RE3 you can do things in whichever order you please.
It was also Gamecube exclusive for a long time and very few owned a Gamecube compared to a PS2. It's why it was eventually ported.
RE1 and RE2 are tough initially because there's no quick turn, which was introduced in RE3. RE1 didn't even have auto aim at first, which is brutal. RE2 on PC and Dreamcast has a super special extra hard mode called "Nightmare", if you dare.
How far are you into RE1?
I'm not far into 1 at all, just got the armor key and some herbs from that fountain room. First thing I tried was finding a quick turn that didn't exist.
Also at what point did re games tell you if items were still in a room? It's only a problem sometimes but some items blend into the pre-rendered bg really well.
I want to continue with 1 just because it seemed to hold up a lot despite the porn-tier vo delivery.
When you mentioned the re4 linearity, is it really that much more linear than any other re game?
Like I get you can waste time going through the other parts of the mansion if you want but really you have like 1 path that progresses shit right?
I haven't played original 2 or 3 or even most of 1 yet so idk if that changes.
That gamecube exclusive part is fricking baffling, did nintendo think enough people owned one or was it just big nip money that bought that?
>Also at what point did re games tell you if items were still in a room? It's only a problem sometimes but some items blend into the pre-rendered bg really well.
Check the map and the room color will be different if there's an item in there that wasn't picked up, but I don't remember when that started. I know REmake does it. I haven't played the original RE games in a long time, so I can't remember anymore, and Code Veronica isn't all that good so I don't replay it.
>When you mentioned the re4 linearity, is it really that much more linear than any other re game?
>Like I get you can waste time going through the other parts of the mansion if you want but really you have like 1 path that progresses shit right?
Ultimately, you're correct as you need key items to advance, but initially you don't know which way to go. In RE1 you'll find a key that opens multiple doors, and it's up to you to decide which one to pick first. In RE4 there's one door, and that's where you're going. Sometimes the road forks, or there's two hallways, but you don't really have to think about it. Opening the map isn't needed much at all in RE4 and RE5.
>That gamecube exclusive part is fricking baffling, did nintendo think enough people owned one or was it just big nip money that bought that?
There was a thing called The Capcom 5 where Capcom was going to make 5 games for the Gamecube for whatever reason, but most of the games were later ported. RE4 was one of those five games.
https://capcom.fandom.com/wiki/Capcom_Five
Did capcom have some vested interest in boosting gc sales? I don't get why they would give a shit
I suppose you are right about the re4 linearity thing, seems like it's less taking significant choice away and more of a trimming fat situation than what you might get now with a more open->linear game progression. I expect to get lost like fricking crazy despite opening the map what feels like every 3 steps so far in 1.
Agree with that bit about map opening in 4/5 I think I only opened it to figure out routes to treasures after I bought the relevant maps.
As to the map colour, I noticed the room is red when I'm in it and open the map and assumed that meant items were still present. Is that not the case?
I still mash for interactables regardless but it would be a bit nice if re threw a bone or something.
>As to the map colour, I noticed the room is red when I'm in it and open the map and assumed that meant items were still present. Is that not the case?
I think that's to tell you which room you're in, and that's it. You're best bet is to write stuff down if you find an item you don't want to grab yet. Take a screenshot of the map and type GRENADE AMMO, for example.
As for missing items, well, good luck. 🙂
>Did you say trumpet.wav as in that godawful basement music?
Yup. The original basement music is really nice. Someone suggested the trumpets happened because the guy ran the music through the wrong type of instrument, and when it was changed it to something else it sounded a lot better.
Skip to 18 seconds for it.
I've heard this fix before, it definitely sounds nice but I'd still prefer to hear the original fart sounds.
There's something delitefully quaint about it I can't quite put my finger on.
Idk maybe the director walked in on the music tech, punched him in the head, causing him to slip and insert the wrong instrument and say "Justu frickingu shippu itugh"
The idea cracks me up too much to eschew it from my experience if I can help it.
I'll probably stick to default director cut though, I can just remap the dpad myself, no need for capcom to do it for me.
Not him but It's a lot more linear than the older games. It does open up more at certain points but for the most part you're moving forward until you get to the next part. Classic RE games are sort of linear in that you can only progress by getting key items but how you get to those key items is not linear. Like RE1, you can get the crests in whatever order you want. If you're playing as Jill you can even get different cutscenes with Barry depending on what routes you take first
>nor can I aim the nade launcher for shit
Are you playing the Director's Cut? The grenade launcher can still be kind of tricky to aim for certain enemies but auto aim takes care of the bulk of that
Honestly no idea if it's the director's cut or not, just grabbed the first rom I saw and it happened to work with duckstation and the bios I have.
Is the director's cut just straight better than regular?
Do you automatically aim at enemies? The non Director's Cut had auto aim removed to make the game harder so that kids would rent it more at video stores. Not even joking
I skipped the second part of your post. There's really no reason to play the non director's cut. Like I said, it has the auto aim put back, making the game more playable although honestly it's not that bad without it. Two bosses become a pain in the ass without it though. It has a new game mode called arranged that has alternate camera angles, costumes and the key items are in different locations. You also start with a silver beretta that has a small chance to crit and kill most enemies in one hit
RE1 has a lot of versions...
Original, which is, well, the original. The non JP versions are harder. Has original intro of Chris smoking.
Director's Cut, adds auto aim, which is huge. Removed Chris smoking in the intro by covering it up during the character introduction.
Director's Cut DUAL SHOCK edition, adds analog stick support which performs poorly because it's just the DPAD remapped to it, and more importantly, the music was changed for the worse. trumpets.wav
Then there's a PC port that has been modde to include all the uncensored parts, colored cutscene, and tries to be the best possible version out of all the many releases. I haven't played it, so I can't personally attest to it.
Director's Cut is the best version, unless you want to try the PC version, but hell if I know if it's easy to get running.
Sounds like a bit of a pain but I guess I'll hunt for the director cut rom and restard on that, good thing I wasn't that far in.
Did you say trumpet.wav as in that godawful basement music? I'd love for that to be in just because of how wonderfully shit it is.
I forgot about the dual shock version. Honestly the music in that version gets unfairly shit on because of how legendarily bad that basement track is. It has a lot of solid music in it like the main mansion themes. I would like to see some kind of mod that mixes both sound tracks together so you get the best of both
I have no idea if it will ever occur, miracles do occur after all, but I wonder if we will ever get to see something that hilariously shit as the fricking basement track in a big name release again.
Like not even something boring or whatever, but something that sounds like the technician fell asleep in the recording room and everything is off key or in midi or in the wrong instrument or something.
I just want things to be shit but with SOUL again.
I'd love that too but there's way too much money at stake in triple a games now. That's why everything is so bland and stagnant now. There's millions of dollars at stake. Why innovate and potentially make a game that doesn't sell well when you can just do the same shit and millions of morons will buy it?
I think I understand now. Mila is so cool that making her a character from the game, which they're all by default less cool than her, would be an insult to her and her coolness
Now you get it anon, that's why the monster hunter movie was 90% mila in a desert doing literally nothing of importance while the final 5% was actual monster hunter stuff with the other 5% sprinkled as set dressing.
God she was *amazing* with the way she acted...stoic? in that desert while the stuntman/actor tried his best to offset what I can only assume is a blackhole level of brain drain that occurs in every film she's in.
>nor can I aim the nade launcher for shit.
Are you playing the version without autoaim? Stick with it if you are, it's the best version of RE1 because it actually retains some challenge. It's also the way the game was designed. Autoaim was a janky hack they shoved in at the last minute after playtesters b***hed about it and unfortunately none of the later games ever did anything to refine it.

Yeah a dps check that you can't influence outside of damage isn't fun really. At least the design was cool.
Riot gun fricks, but I am partial to the pump action just for the animation.
Del lago section isn't my favourite part of village but I do like it.
Also something about that canyon(?) area just before castle transition feels nice to playthough, also the dual gigante, chainsaw sisters path part is fun.
Didn't mean what dialoge touched you in the kokkoro the most anon, just what one liner made you chuckle or snort air a little. If there was none then that's fine

BINGO?
>most hated enemy but still cool
crosbow enemies can frick right off but they're nice change of pace I guess
Never bothered with striker, the point it becomes available seems too late for the investment. Is it a good/cool weapon?
start of castle is a good tone setter, wish castle didn't drag so fricking much.
Bingo fricking rules, nice taste
crossbow enemies are indeed gay, but only when firing out of eyeshot imo. It's nice to dodge something outside of melee distance for once, until fricking rpgs out of the side of the screen
it's the best and smallest shotgun iirc, with highest firepower, fastest firing speed (altough nerfed outside original GC version) and most importantly exclusive upgrade will grant you ridiculous 100 round magazine, so not only you won't have to worry about reloading, but you'll get enough shells for the rest of the game
it's best to keep original shotgun for most of the game, skip the riot gun and then get striker when available imo
never thought about skipping riot, though I remember thinking semi auto sniper was better than the og just because >semi auto doesn't need to reload between shots so I guess I know very little about weapon paths in re4
yeah, riot gun is almost identical to shotgun stat-wise, but it's nice to have different model I guess, I also used to always buy riot in my early playthroughs
semi auto rifle is also better, re4 purist will claim how bolt action rifle is superior, but you can easily pop heads with semi auto since ammo is very common and also regenerators are a joke with thermal scope
my equipment after 10+ playthroughs
handgun -> red9
tmp
bolt -> semi
shotgun -> striker
broken butterfly
everything else is unnecessary, altough fun to use for sure
Is there a reason to pick semi over bolt when the scope fits both?
The speed of reload on bolt is negligible surely by the point you get scope and a bit before.
Otherwise I agree totally with that setup short of the striker revalation I am just now having, if only you could carry inventory over.
Isn't every VR experience mostly the same thing outside of 1-2 unique mechanics or coats of paint if that?
you can't upgrade firing speed on bolt action rifle
you're forced out of scope after every shot
even the regenerators are harder, since some of them have plagas on their back and sometimes you need to guess their exact location so it takes more than one shot
hell, it isn't even that stronger without exclusive upgrade
overall it's very fun weapon to use, but semi auto is superior
also, you reminded me now the biggest bullshit of the game, the rpg enemies jumpscare
>pic related, I'll never forgive the japanese
anything sexualizing Ashley will be 100% gone
I hope for some cheese to stay, but it seems the game is now serious business, so I'd be happy with 1/4 of Leon's one liners
>anything sexualizing Ashley will be 100% gone
then capcom gets 0 monies from me
>section
The first time you rescue Ashley up to the beginning of the castle. (Includes the house standoff with Luis, the two different route choices, and the Chief boss fight)
>gun
TMP
>dialogue/throwaway line
No thanks, bro. (I use this quote all the time)
>most hated enemy but still cool
The cultists that throw the scythes/the cultists in the painting room with the rocket launchers
I like the cultists, the chains make a satisfying noise, maybe it's the compression, idk.
RPG cultists/soldiers make my butthole pucker but I guess that's the point. Frick that room in particular though, especially if that's the one where you start the monk chase.
For least favorite area it would be in separate ways/assignment ada (cant remember which) the frigate section where you have to destroy the guns on the ship.
yeah it was an okay setpiece for being something different than just a leon section in reverse but it wasn't great to play through.
2023, gaming will be saved
me. never played any other entry. RE4make will outsell the other by millions.
I just beat RE4 for the first time. Fun game. I hope the remake is good too. Also, want to frick Ada.
if you want closure to the ada thing, just watch porn anon.
RE4 is fun though, professional is also a good difficulty until fricking krauser, I don't care if the knife is his kryptonite, that boss fight fricking sucked wiener on professional.
It's worth it for the silly shit that is infinite rpg.
>the knife is his kryptonite
Oh shit, really? Damn. I didn't try that.
I don't think it's anything to do with knife damage and a bit more of a code veronica situation where the knife just stun locks them to death.
That said, you still need to get lucky or gud with the knife swing timing. Took me what felt like 30 fricking attempts before I got a clean knife run on him.
Didn't help I started the fight on yellow health and had no health items.
Re 4 is ruined by the castle imo. It's too long and completely lacks the atmosphere of the village. It also has a series of awful rooms that aren't fun or rewarding to play like the water room. Re5 is superior.
Personally, I'm waiting for the africa adenture. Wonder if they'll remake that game? They're probably going to put in at least 40 percent white dudes so it doesn't look as "racist" as the original entry.
I started with 1: director's cut.
I'm one of those people and will never play RE 4 Remake.
>No Nintendo Switch version
Dealbreaker. Make the Switch or get out.
>Tone change
I don't want a 2deep4U story.
>Gameplay
Looks like shit.
My guess is that the game will nowhere near live up to the legendary and iconic original. Do you know how many girlfriends I've introduced that game to? It's universally appealing.
>I'm curious if REmake 4 will outsell REmake 2 and RE7.
No. Nobody will trust crapcom after that disaster called village
guaranteed steamchart flashing like it's their dicksize will occur regardless anon.
Not saying I agree with it at all, but better prepare for the inevitable
Sucks that 4make is relegated to being a village assetflip.
I've played RE4 and RE2 Remake
RE2 Remake was pretty good and in some ways better, like it was definitely a more effective horror game, but they sacrificed good action for it, it would be a better ACTION game if limb shots had more impact, and to me that's more important
>gigantic expectations
>everyone still believes Crapcom can meet any of them
it will be just another quick cash grab
Playing the VR version right now and I'm not enjoying it that much
I played 0, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 2 remake
I refuse to buy it if it removed 2 of these 3 things
-the ballistics comment
-the ability to peek at her panties (which, considering she's no longer wearing a skirt, is a given)
-the overtime comment
if she doesn't offer to frick leon and Luis doesn't mention her fat breasts, it's a pirate for me
When will they make a game with Alice in it?
hopefully never, those movies fricking sucked (the first one was okay)
I would love to see wes andersen direct a videogame
It would be one of the shittest fricking trash fires to ever grace the sight of god and I would love it all the way.
Naturally mila would be in the lead role, maybe even multiple if capcom lets wes use the alice clones
hate to say it but I think wes would probably produce something that would get written off as a soulless hipster indie game.
that's probably true, but it's funny to theorycraft his super ebin blockbuster wife showcase game that would suck ass, have plot that goes nowhere important other than mila jovevich boob shots and bad cg. If only....
frick off Paul, we don't want your steel donut wife in our vidya
Why didn't they just make her Jill? I don't understand
No no anon, you truly don't get it.
Mila jovevich (wes' wife) is just SO cool, look at how much screentime she gets in comparison to any other, actually relevant, female character who definitely is cool but not AS cool as Mila (his wife did you know).
Don't forget that this man came up with bullshit to enable near infinite mila jovevich technology in one of the last re movies he did.
I played REmake on Gamecube when it came out, then continued with 4,5,6,7.
Last year though, I played through every single RE that I had I missed, including spin-offs. Gaiden was a pain to get through just because of the soundtrack. There actually are several decent tracks on there, but the bulk of the gameplay is set to some variation of the exploration theme on an endless loop:
Also frick the Outbreak games for having to restart the whole level because you missed the timer by a few seconds, even though you had no idea how fast you had to go or what parts of the map you had time to explore. Hate gameplay that relies on you having already played levels and knowing all the locations of important things, before you even stand a decent chance. I don't know why they are always so highly rated in RE threads. Maybe they're okay in multiplayer with friends, but in singleplayer they are ASS, and everything about them is frustrating.
I played all of them. Why does every new release cause a flood of cry babies
My first was 2 on the N64, then REmake and 4.
t. Nintendogay
I've played all mainline RE games except 3. My favorites are still Re4 and og Re2.
i played 2 first, 1, 5, 6 and 4. i don't think i beat 1.
