It is pretty funny how Loaded Dice took Rock Blast from a garbage-tier attack to the best widely learnable Rock-type move in the game overnight

When clefable became top tier in gen6 one of its answers was rhyperior banded stab rock blast from 140 ATK wasn't a gamble but a certainty to 2hko even skarmory, hell the chances of hitting 3 hits twice was better than stone miss to hit twice if you wanted the 2hko on skarmory
People just forget how powerful rock blast can be unless banded rhyperior, cloyster or denisssss mega heracross were involved

Fair enough. Most multi-hit moves are like that honestly. They have the potential to be really good, but only really if they hit enough times, and it's usually an unnecessary risk to go for them instead of something more reliable. I'm glad there's a way for them to see more use and really shine now

When a move can hit more than twice, it's gonna be beastly. Baxcalibur with Icicle Spear and Loaded Dice is goddamned unfair.

Well cincinno was the exception, people always tried to use it one tier higher than it was good at but a Pokemon with over 120 ATK using a multi hit move is always a threat, people just weren't trained to understand how bullshit it can be until denisssss abused BP, a trapping core and it together

I know, but it's so much fun. I've been running Loaded Dice with Icicle Spear, Dragon Dance, Glaive Rush, and Protect since release pretty much and never once changed it. It's busted but I can't help but have a blast with it

I used it with a choice band, that thing was deadly out of the gate
Baxcalibur was so underrated on release that it's just silly how good it is right now

I think it was unpopular because a lot of people don't like its design for some reason. Don't know why, I thought it was cool from the get-go. Which is odd, I don't usually like Pseudos that much.
But yeah, I do remember a lot of people looking at its stats and predicting it wouldn't be very good too. Funny how that worked out

Eh, that may be for it's overall popularity but it's comp popularity had another reason for being stunted: Chien-Pao. With it in the format you had no reason to run another Ice type. Same thing happened in VGC, but kinda in reverse. Baxcalibur was a solidly popular pick but then Chien-Pao became legal and it disappeared overnight.

Fake Kaiju fans the lot of them
If I had access to Nidoking and Agron I would have made a full Kaiju team
Bax is fun and I'm really glad torterra can join in the fun of mult hit moves and shell smash like blastoise did

Because people spent too much time parroting IcE TyPe BAd memes rather than actually looking at Baxcilbuer as a whole and realizing that the damn thing has: 145 Attack, all the coverage it needs, STAB priority, a sig move that’s Outrage you can switch out of with a nothingburger drawback, an ability that make Fire moves boost its attack so not only is it an ice type the discourages Fire moves but it’s also a physical attacker that can’t even be burned, and it gets dragon dance. Oh and Snow actually gave ice types a snowball’s chance to actually survive a hit or too. Oh and it can borrow ZARD’s Tim’s to avoid sneaky pebbles, OH and Tera is a thing so if the ice type is such a bother for it it can just change its type while keeping STAB on the best offensive type in the game.
OH and the entire “Ice types bad” thing only to ever applied to tanks and walls every offensive Ice type with even the semblance of speed has been either been good, meta-defining, or kicked out of the meta for being broken.

It stole games on release for me just because of that monstrous 145 ATK, even without dd it was still a beast, in a way I played it no different than mamoswine minus(SR) an ice type that already proved itself, hit hard then hit harder is always a good strategy

I see nothing wrong with an ice iguanodon with a small sail
Sure it could look better if we applied the design philosophy of the Kalos fossils but I don't see anything wrong with baxcalibur design

>ice iguanodon
Oh is that what they're going for? I just thought it was a generic kaiju crossed with a bit of spinosaurus. Cool either way

Feels like it, but again the iguanodon of old inspired Godzilla so it's kaiju design isn't that far off
Eh, Leaf Blade is stronger than Seed Bomb, and not everyone wants to build a strategy around having low health or risk recoil in general. Wouldn't have been a game changer for it by any means, but would have been nice to have as an option, at least.
Not that I really expected them to let it keep it. It was pretty obviously going to be a PLA exclusive to make up for cutting so much of the rest of its moveset.
Definitely gonna be an RUBL warrior, but good in UU and a fun cheese pick in OU. Since it gets Grassy Glide now it could work as a nice Swords Dance Grassy Glide wall-breaking combo with Rillaboom, but there’s better partners for Rilla out there so it’ll probably be somewhat niche.
Shitmon that now has a one trick niche that it'll only be known for. Will probably be in NU within a couple months.
Unfortunate.
Explain.
It got Shell Smash as an Egg Move.
Got Shell Smash
Lost Leaf Blade though
Leaf Blade was hardly relevant when it can use Seed Bomb and Wood Hammer. Wood Hammer is especially good for it's ability to get him into Overgrow.
Its not much better, though. Still slow after a smash.
And now that Loaded Dice is a thing, Bullet Seed would actually be better than Leaf Blade.
>And now that Loaded Dice is a thing, Bullet Seed would actually be better than Leaf Blade.
Did it get Rock blast?
Yes.
It did, actually
>DL Rock Blast is a more accurate Stone Edge that ignores Sashes and Sturdy

don't you want a Speed boosting Nature? Or does that just not hit any relevant speed tiers after the Shell Smash boost?
Adamant after a smash outspeeds max speed Pult by one point.
Giga drain works better because you can kill b***hdozo and shit tusk. Shell smash gives +2 spa

Competitive play is lame tbh
I just think he's neat.
Is Bullet Seed + Loaded Dice a good combo for him?
turdterra
I don't like any sinnoh starter much tbh, I picked it because it is the one that sucks the less.
It's fun to use, you can use band, body press, shell smash or a support set and all of them work out of people trying to answer the shell smash set
Torterra as a whole got a lot better thanks to it

Last part about the Rillaboom duo was for VGC, forgot to mention that.
