If there's one thing I wish it's that the player didn't get knocked out so much. It's like a running gag by the end. But I don't mind the running back and forth, it's better than cramming vehicles into maps not designed for it. And the universal stash box that transfers between levels is genius for preventing backtracking. The UI isn't great but the fact that there's unique monsters and you can view their 3d models and animations in the pda encyclopedia makes up for it.

Off the top of my head there's the Talking Flesh (probably a nod to mods who made the fleshes speak stalker lines backwards), the Landlord Controller, the giga-Boar General Tschok, the bloodsucker that discharges an electrical anomaly when you shoot it, and a few others. I think almost all the high tier monsters have a one-off unique variant.
Say what you want about the linearity, it's kind of cool to be railroaded into specific encounters, especially with the Controllers in the game. Realizing that you're talking directly to one while it infects your mind and makes you think you're sitting in a peaceful cabin while you're really running all over the dark valley in a stupor is much more in line with the lore than a slow walking controller with psy blasts and AoE damage.
Props to the developers for making psi damage a blue haze and removing the fricking double vision effect permanently.

Eh, not THAT much. I remember hearing a while back that not much of the original team is left, with that plus a multiplatform focus as much as I hate the term "soul" I think it'll be lacking.
A lot of the appeal of the original game was the open (ish) world and A-Life allowing for a real-feeling ecosystem with people and animals doing their own thing. I doubt that a bigger budget 'AAA' sequel will focus on that aspect, instead looking to make a cool story with lots of trailer moments and a more modern 'checklist' style of open world.
Still, I remain open to being pleasantly suprised.

It's easier to suspend my disbelief when the accent is common to the area. No fricking shit if I could perfectly understand Ukrainian I would prefer the Ukrainian dub with no subs above all else, but I fricking don't. If anything needing to constantly read words that pop up on the bottom of the screen to understand anyone is more damaging to my immersion than everyone speaking english.

There is an installer for gamma. Its super easy if you are not completely braindamaged.
That's pretty much all it is, minecraft survival mode with anomalies. I mean it's okay sure if you like collecting 3 bullets, breadcrumbs and an artifact that does nothing as the sum total of your playtime.
Wish the second half was more combat heavy, by the time the artifact was mutated I had a full combat load of 5.56 and rifle grenades to do absolutely frick all with.

Also if you're thinking about True Stalker, you spend the second half of the game traveling with a fully voiced squad of 3 companions across the zone. Not to mention the dozens of new voiced NPCs in the game.
its a game where you play as the average stalker in a build your own story kinda game, it has some story missions meant to give you some direction but you're free to tackle it whenever you want
it's highly customizable so if you don't like some of the grinding aspects you can turn them down or even disable them

it's a modpack for Anomaly so all you really have to do is follow the installer guide and it will sort itself, after that you can fine tune it whowever you want

Not much to say because it's mostly just the overworld map, there's nothing related to the plot or quests aside from a few scripted scenarios that are part of some missions.
Plus it's 200GB and has almost no optimization.
Any new locations? Are original areas expanded in any meaningful way or is it just same old in new engine?
It's basically all areas from previous games in one map.
Some are moved around to make sense, others like the area around Skadovsk are changed to resemble the real life locations, and there's a bunch of new ones.
There's also some kind of barrier surrounding the entirety of the Zone that starts basically at the military outpost at Cordon, pic related.
Some locations are changed too, Zaton for example, on top of the changes around Skadovsk, is mostly flooded, or the Clear Sky camp, which is mostly in ruins.
The CNPP seems to be abandoned, since it has a lot of overgrown flora around it, and I also found the Generators.
Though I think most of the barrier is a placeholder, in some places it's just the same asset copy pasted over and over, while in others it's far more detailed, with barbed wire and such.
It has already done enough good just from the endless entertaining language drama among bickering Slavs.
this is the same game that had to be delayed because the try to bandwagon the nft train when it was already fading into irrelevancy, my only expectation is that it will be shit but maybe modders will rescue it and make something decent out of it

I had some hope when gamepass was new and they announced all the games for it, like they were actually gonna try to have some quality in there to draw in subscriptions but after Redfall and Starfield, There's no way in hell anything good can come out of it. The only 2 games that were backed by Microsoft and were Day-one releases on goypass were Psychonauts 2 and Hi-Fi Rush. If they develop it like a AA game it might have a chance but I doubt it with how much they're trying to hype it up.
