It is pretty cute, and I can only assume it is produced by someone in their garage or a pretty small production shop. That seems about right for any kind of garage kit style mini if they're making their own molds and casting it in resin.

Now, would I pay that much for it? Absolutely not.

      >former gw employee decides that £22 for a single 28mm figure was too cheap
      I'd say 15 quid.

      >28mm
I think it's ugly as frick and overpriced but it's a fair bit bigger than that

Printing full color box art on a small scale like this is actually pretty expensive, most small, online-only companies don't bother to make their own boxes because of the price and it's kind of pointless if it's not getting sold on a shelf.

There's a reason why so many independent toymakers types tend to either go with a generic box with a card or a clear bag with a stapled on topper. Above all else, you want to be able to move the product as fast as possible, and jacking up the price with packaging which will be tossed out anyways is the dumbest way to have a nice day in the foot, since online distribution generally means people already want the toy, not the box it comes in.

Way back when, there was a London-based company called Comet Models. They did cast-metal minis of famous sci-fi vehicles, which came in either polybags or generic clamshell blisters with a simple label (black line art on coloured card), and model kits in plain boxes with art literally pasted on the front. As they got more cash in, the boxes got upgraded - but it wasn't a priority until the company was actually doing well enough (and selling enough units) that they didn't have to jack up the prices.

Sevans Models went the same way (plain box, pasted-on art) for their kits of Dr Who monsters - mostly Daleks I think.

The 80s were a real Wild West for unlicensed kits...

It's cool that Suggy is making her own minis but honestly hate the aesthetic. Almost feels like she's forcing something new so that GW legal doesn't come sue her after being an employee. Like wtf is with that nose?

Nothing. I'm not super into the aesthetic and if what I'm reading in this thread is true, it's not even printed at a scale where I can feasibly use it for anything.
Suggy is cute and all and she's a great painter doing some wonderful vibrant work, but this is a miss for me.

I don't have anything against her, but I don't think she really earned the attention she gets. Big fish in a small pond - or non-overweight woman in a space occupied by neckbeards.
