get more hearts and better weapons and monster parts
I fought the one at the Akkala Citadel with five hearts - got it down to a quarter of it's healthbar pretty quick but it shot up in the air. Tried to ride the updrafts but didn't get high enough. I'm assuming I need to fuse eyeballs with the arrows to get it down but I kept getting hit by stuff out of the sky that I couldn't even see.
The combat in the game is complete dogshit.
Do you want a sekiro lile combat in game made for 3yo anon?
Why? I think it's pretty fun. I actually thought it was pretty cool that they use gusts of wind to blow you back if you try to get up close before stunning them.
That's unfortunately a problem with most video games. After a while you just learn how to destroy everything.
Dark souls style combat mechanics would have been fine. The fact you need to lock on to enemies to have the ability to dodge and there are no iframes and only three directions you can dodge in is complete bullshit. Especially since the vast majority of battles involve a swarm or at least two enemies.
You don't need to lock on. I don't know why you would try to roll or dodge toward and enemy instead of dodging left, right, or backwards anyway.
>there are only 4 directions
If dodging in one of those directions works for 90% of the attacks then you don't really need to have it angled any other particular way, I don't get the issue. It would be cool to have I guess but not necessary.
You can totally get up high enough to be level with it with the updraft. Maybe you just did it too late.
grind more first, idiot.
did they remove the parry mechanic?
no
no it's still in the game
It's even better because you can attack with your parry if you attach a weapon to your shield
it's not very effective just attacking regularly, but it's great for if you want to apply an element while you let your weapon do the damage. You can put a ice horn or something and freeze enemies with your shield parry, then attack them with your weapon for bonus damage.
I like putting elemental gems on the shields then attacking enemies with it to freeze/burn/electrocute them them.
You come back with white lynel bow + white lynel great sword everytime
use the updraft from the burning grass and spam midair shots
>kid's game is too hard for him
Gamers these days are such dumb pussies that need handholding with everything.
mirror shield reflects the beams back
Ironically the game is harder than most AAA titles released in the last 10 years
not really, it was a pretty easy game
seeing all the people on here getting filtered made me realize how legitimately moronic Ganker is, must be all the shitskins.
The combat is god awful and button layout is a mess and he one shots you even with ten hearts
Imagine bragging about being good at a child’s game
Beyond sad
>Ironically the game is harder than most AAA titles released in the last 10 years
Wooden Blocks and Shape Sorter is not harder than AAA titles.
Dragons that one-shot you with lasers are
you obviously havent played it if you think the first two shrines are the entire game
What's the most op aircraft you can build? I want to get the master sword but I dont want to waste time building shit.
I just used Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower to get the Master Sword.
two fans at a 45 degree angle and a control stick with nothing else. Cheap to make and wont dissolve like most other parts do.
Assuming you're still early game you might not have enough charge to get anywhere with it but other than slapping on batteries, chugging zonai charges, or grinding up max energy there isn't much you can do to fix that.
>might not have enough charge to get anywhere
How do I upgrade? I've done around 90% of the shrines but I still don't know how to get more battery charges
You need to go to the depths for that. Fight Koga and do the boss rematches. They give you the materials for the batteries.
Glider with fans from a sky island is the only way if you don't have good charge and aren't doing some moronic physics jank
Just tried this. Doesn't steer for shit. Veers off to one side. Immediately fell off when trying to change direction.
I think I'm done playing this for a while.
You made it crooked, you needs to be near perfectly aligned.
Here's another variant.
People replying didn't play any recent aaa games. You're right
However I was getting destroyed because I didn't know you can just upgrade your armor since I never played botw
Killed my second Phantom Ganon today and I did notice that he's a lot easier when he uses the spear. Also it's pretty funny that I figured they'd put gloom spawn in almost all the important locations from BotW and so far I keep finding them there.
Phantom Ganon is piss easy, he telegraphs way too much and is slow as shit, the fricking hands with eyes were way harder.
I think they made phantom ganon easy because the blight ganons filtered 90% of the playerbase in the original. Even Ganker couldn't stop b***hing about lightning ganon back in the day.
Really? Lightning Ganon was the easiest for me apart from Fire Ganon who you can just kill with bombs, with Lightning you can exploit the parry and flurry rush a lot.
Lightning is annoying until you understand his timings because he can two tap you even with like 16 hearts.
>he can two tap you even with like 16 hearts.
a lot of people greatly underestimate how important armor upgrades are in botw and tears. it's a moronicly balanced system.
>Ganker is one person
>back in the day
wew lad
Honestly, it is. Mostly because I'm too lazy to do the boring shrines but still.
It's somewhat challenging if you just ignore all of the blatantly overpowered mechanics the game gives you.
You can just build/autobuild a structure that lets you ascend through it, jump off, fire slow motion bullet time arrows directly into the heads, knock it down, repeat. Most monsters can be dealt with this way because hitting their weak points knocks them down.
No its not, but i can see zoomies call it hard when they got spoiled by snoy and ubisoft's game journalists difficulty
So... harder than most AAA games in the past 10 years?
It has the worst difficulty curve I have ever seen in a game. It highly encourages cheesing and never learning enemy patterns. You either get killed in one hit or you are basically invincible. There is nothing in between. So you never learn to face a challenge properly. You either use one of the numerous ways to win guaranteed or you just brainlessly tank damage.
Someone sensible enough to realize it. The moronicly balanced armor system is one of the main culprits. If your defense is lower than the incoming damage you die in 1-3 hits, if your defense is higher then you're practically invincible against physical, non-gloom attacks. There's rarely a middleground.
I can tell you why they probably did this but it is not an excuse really. They wanted to pull some "this is realistic" type bs. You get destroyed by shit because it would kill you that easy irl or some shit. But it feels dumb and lazy to apply it like this.
True. Anyone replying saying otherwise haven't played the game or looked up walkthroughs. TotK is moronicly difficult until you figure out how to cheese it since almost everything oneshots you well into mid game. Compare to nu-GoW where Mimir tells you what to do every 5 seconds.
It's really easy or really hard depending on a variety of factors. It's the kind of game where if you come with enough resources or the right tools you're invincible. If you try tackle anything unprepared then it's really hard, but the game is a joke if you are prepared.
While you're right, this game is not THAT hard.
The problems are probably people trying to fight something they shouldn't have yet.
This is the same board that can't even beat Skeletron in Terraria because "omg he's too hard why doesn't he let me auto-parry him? Why doesn't Terraria have flurry rushing!?!"
So to your statement I must have a hearty chuckle.
Most AAA games in the last decade are movie games so yeah, this is harder by default
Upgrading hearts is a bit of a noob trap since you can survive OHKO as long as you have full HP, and unless you have more than 10 hearts most bosses kills you in 2 hits anyway (before you start upgrading your armor), so you'll be wasting more food to use to recover hearts when your max HP is higher.
The health thing isn't foolproof, though, strong enough attacks can one shot you even from full of the damage dealt would be high enough, and stuff like fire attacks can knock you down to a quarter heart, and then you instantly take chip damage from the fire and die. I still agree that it's niche enough that you should probably just max stamina before getting more than 4 hearts, but it does happen sometimes.
>mirror shield reflects the beams back
What the frick really? I tried that on some rando magic attack and it didn't do shit, have I been missing out?
What else about the shield am I sleeping on? I mostly use it for springs and rockets and the occasional emitter
Sled shield lets you fricking shred slopes, talus hearts and stones let you deal damage and break rocks (but it costs too much durability), cold/hot additions will regulate your temperature, lights are lights, stone slabs can block flame attacks and increase the shield's size, puffshrooms will activate a smoke bomb when you block...
wtf king ghidorah is in totk?
There's straight up a hard version of it called King Gleeok too
>have good bow
>have good weapon
>use bullet time
>win
So do multiple fans actually make the wing glider go faster?
Not only is that a yes the added weight and placement also change the way it flies.
glue those eyeballs on the arrow you fricking dumb tendie
glue a mirror to your shield
>mirror shield
no fricking way it's back?
Yup. Blinds the shit out of enemies if it's sunny out.
I’m just gonna go on a limb since this a game for little babies and point out you’ve got 3 big glowing eyeballs to shoot at so probably try aiming there fricking dumbass tendie moron
Assuming you're deadset on fighting it with no hearts and dogshit weapons -
Don't get hit by the beam. The flames it makes are good for paragliding up to match his height.
Use bullettime to line up headshots and tip your arrows with ice/water element with white chu jelly, splash fruit, etc. Aim for the eyes. Normal arrows will work to stun the heads but take longer.
Hit his heads until he starts getting up then sprint far enough away that he can't knock you down with wind or land a tail swat. If you run out of stamina you'll die so mind your distance.
Once he flies super high into the air, tip your arrow with wings from a keese or aerocuda for longer range and aim for the eyes again
>he
It's them sweaty
Did you just fricking imply I've been sweating? How dare you insult my crisp 18 degree (65 for morons)
house.
Frick your couch Black person.
18 degrees is too cold for me m8. How do you even call that crisp. It's 24 degrees rn where I live. Livin la buena vida.
21.5 is the ideal fight me
Having to break your temperate to decimals just to be comfortable in your own home is a complete failure.
dont get hit then dummy
>randomly find the spirit temple
>spend an hour trying to figure out why the game has a bunch of rockets placed nearby
>give up and end up finding the construct forge soon after
>spend another hour trying to find any of those parts for the big construct and make zero progress
am i having a brainlet moment or is there some time travel shenanigans that I havent unlocked yet
Spirit temple is AFTER you build the robot
It's complete bullshit that they let you into the first few rooms of the construct forge
Either let me do the whole "dungeon" early (without Mineru), or close everything up tight and make it clear that you need something else to progress.
An early construct would still be missing the head, and you could have a steward construct beside it to tell you "Hmm, you're still missing a head, and there are none around here, how strange! Maybe try looking in this place..."
The entire game's plot should've been more like Outer Wilds, where there are multiple narrative locations that all point to each other in a connected web. So you could "pick up the trail" at any of them and have a reasonable chance of finding everything just by follow leads and exploring.
You need to build the robot first, anon.
Don't worry, I got to the Water Temple without Sidon and got stuck about 3 hours wondering why I couldn't progress. This game doesn't do a very good job locking--or at least--telling you where you're not supposed to be yet.
>the Water Temple
Ahaha, are you me? I was stuck for an hour tinkering with the puzzles, wondering what I was missing. It almost happened with the Wind Temple too; had to place a travel medallion near the top and go below the cloud.
Same.
I think this is happening to a lot of people because the new abilities aren't as intuitive as the runes in the first game, even now that I'm about to go face Ganondorf I keep forgetting that Ascend is even a thing, Ultrahand is pretty useful and has far more utility than Magnesis but it is way more cumbersome to master, and let's face it Fuse is just a filler ability that in no way matches Remote Bombs or Cryonis in utility and is only justified by the fact that weapons are corroded which they could have just cut out entirely, the only ability that matches the runes in ease of use and intuitiveness is the time reversal.
>travel medallion
Frick, that would've been nice to have in that situation, but I didn't have those until postgame.
parry his beam with your own beam
It feels like they made the combat more difficult. Besides all these one or two shotting bosses dodging seems more difficult than in the first one. Unless thats just emulator issues but havent noticed anything else like that.
Everything feels easier to me, with the exception of Gleeoks.
>dodging seems more difficult than in the first one.
THIS. I CAN'T ALMOST NEVER DO FLURRY RUSHES AND I DO TIME THEM PERFECTLY (I THINK). I payed $70 btw, no emulator.
A bunch of people said this but the more I play the less I think this is the case. Unless I'm misremembering and BotW was insanely forgiving.
Just dodge the correct direction as soon as their weapon is swinging toward you, it's easy as piss. Lynels are the easiest to flurry rush of them all.
In this game they've made clothes upgrading near mandatory with how stupidly insane damage is, even shitty wolves in the wild do 5+ hearts of damage, you need to go to the fairy and upgrade your armor sets.
Also, you could look into using zonai shit to build auto-attack drones.
It was the exact same in BotW, why do you say "in this game they've made"?
It's even way more reasonable in this game due to how easy it is to make overpowered weapons, and as you said zonai auto-attack drones are simple as well for those who want to cry about durability.
No, I'm sure shit hits way harder in TotK, losing 15 hearts in a single hit from random fricking mooks is not normal in BotW, most bosses are one hit instadeath machines, I never upgraded a single piece of clothing in BotW and didn't even bother paying the other fairies, here I just had to actively go search for two of those prostitutes to get a half-decent armor set for the final battle.
No.
Upgrade your armor to around 40-50 (piss easy with the easily accessable Soldiers set) and everything does no damage. +2 with the basic Hylian clothes knocks all damage aside from Lynels and Gleeoks to nothing.
That's a shame to hear because the easiest way for me to make BotW fun was to skip upgrading armor entirely and just focus on hearts.
I did the same but the fact that the lightning and spirit bosses were one-hit killing me made me just go and upgrade a bunch of armor to save me the hassle.
your having trouble with a game made for 3 year olds? fufufu~
>Wahhhh boss to hard
Anon this is a kids game, don't tell me its hard for you
I loved BotW and so far I'm enjoying this even more. My only question is I can imagine replaying both to be a pain in the ass if you do it back to back - is there any kind of new game plus mod for BotW where you start with all the gear and weapon slots you unlocked, just need to actually do the dungeons, shrines, fairies, etc?
>using dog shit equipment that is possibly un upgraded.
>possibly Zero sages
>not Bullet Time firing a bow but instead just firing from the floor.
I dunno Anon. Why didn't your mother swallow.
Jog off to the side and avoid it, Black person.
At least 200 arrows and like 7 bows if you want to do it at a low level
They're late game enemies, there is no weaker or stronger variants. You're not expected to take them on early on.
Anyway you either need to take cover behind something in the environment and peek out to shoot their heads, or you abuse bullet time to cheese them. Keeseballs and Lynel bows are very handy with Gleeoks.
If you're skilled enough you can parry all their projectiles.
put down a spring
Also stop getting hit butthole.
lynel type bow for triple shot, elemental keese eyes (fire worked fine against the king gleeok, the triple element one, but not sure if flame gleeok would be immune). then beat on it with your strongest weapons. you can skip the entire second phase if you take out the heads before he lifts off, and its really easy with the aoe of elemental keese eyes x3.
Asking again: does whistling summon your companion?
No why do you think it would?
Each companion of yours is always with you as long as you have it turned on in the key items menu. With exceptions like shrines, and I don't know if they can stay with you during the other story quests.
I just got to the bird settlement. Where do I upgrade armor? I'm getting twoshotted by lizalfos.
Actually how the frick do I even get armor? I barely had enough money to buy the winter chest piece.
all the great fairy stuff is now tied to a questline involving some band of musicians. talk to a big bird guy with goggles at the stable by rito village to get started. the first great fairy you can use is by a stable east from the main settlement in front of hyrule castle. once you talk to that great fairy she will show you where the other great fairies are, but you have to find a musician for each one so they'll upgrade your armor.
I personally hunt a lot of enemy camps for loot to sell for the ridiculously priced armors.
Besides shops, you get armor by following up on the Misko treasure leads that the treasure hunters around the word tell you about. If you want to get money fast, it's best to do some mining at Death Mountain. There's a Gerudo in the Goron Town as well who offers to buy at better prices for gems than other merchants, but she only buys in bulk. The guy who eats flint is bullshit for a chance at some money. Don't bother with him other than to clear the quest. Amber is useless outside of upgrading two armor sets that don't even have set bonuses so you can safely sell them.
How the FRICK is this okay kaiju bros, These things are such blatant ripoffs of King Ghidorah
?t=289
>explore random sky island, still haven't done any main dungeon
>spot the light dragon, neat
>decide to fly up to it because the champion's tunic needed light dragon scales or something to upgrade
>suddenly master sword
I guess I'm fricking set for the rest of the game...
This game does a great job at showing me what a brainlet I am.
>enter shrine near the Hyrule Field Sky Tower
>spend 30 minutes trying to figure out how to get the ball to the target
>get to a point where I'm fusing every single item available in the shrine, end to end, just to have the ball touch the target
>doesn't work
>decide to check out this obelisk that I've been ignoring and always assumed was meaningless
>decide to hit it
>"Oh."
Same. Being humbled by The Witness is one thing but TotK just hurts my self esteem.
>Imagine being bad at kid's game
JAGUAR KICK
you guys are losers. gonna hang out with my new friends instead
Wholesome.
I genuinely think it's cute seeing the boss boko's hang out with their droogs
hours ago I was in a situation like this
>be me
>sneak into boko base with the hat on
>did not realize it was gonna be this effective and thought I still needed to sneak
>they all notice me and run over
>become confused, not expecting them to just stand there
>say audibly aloud "Hey guys I'm just the new recruit not from around this neighborhood. So yeah... Hows it hanging my bokka's? Can I say that?"
>in some magical chance timing they suddenly aggro and start attacking
Avoid getting killed, kill it till it dies.
anyone know where to find regular red lynels? i've only ever found blue and white so far
One in Akkala near the Telelmamimumusudmsudcm whatever the frick ridge or ruins
go to the tabantha skytower and fly northeast to that big field theres one there
The electro dragon in the collosseum is much easier, because you can take cover behind the pillars.
Build a mecha Godzilla to smoke his ass
>mecha Godzilla
>smoking anyone
Things that never happened
Git gud
Is there a way to unlock the tower without looking for shrooms for fish guy? I thought frick him and climbed the tower but the lid is closed
Go down into the cave he mentions and think about all your abilities, ALL of them
>Go down into the cave he mentions

Ignore the mushrooms, they're misleading. You must ascend beyond that line of thinking.
Git gud

5/10 at best compared to any FROM dragon.

I can't even tell them apart their ankles look the same
Skill isuue.
Movement speed potion really helps against this enemy
>they shoot laser beams
>equip mirror shield
>it doesn't do anything
I was very disappointed.
>one shot
I really hate what Dark Souls did to action RPGs.
Did you even play Dark Souls?
Because Dark Souls never one shots you unless you're severely underleveled and/or naked.
It does 2-shot you frequently, so it's all about not making 2 mistakes in a row and managing to recover via your limited 10 heals.
shut the frick up homosexual
Fight one in terrain that has cover, somewhere you can ascend with. The coliseum one is good, don’t fight it in a thunderstorm. I recommend the gerudo valley fire gleeok. Fight it at night with the frost bite set for that extra ice damage. Use the pillar it sits on for cover.
Gleeok is midway between a puzzle boss and a combat boss.
